Frequently Asked Questions - Babycook Express BEABA

How to use express cooking?
Place the mixing paddle in the basket, lock it with the nut, then place the basket in the bowl with the tab in the spout. Fill the tank with water to the desired level, close the lids, plug in and turn the knob to express cooking mode. A beep indicates the end of the cycle. Be careful of burn hazards.
How to clean the Babycook blades?
Unplug the appliance. Disassemble the stainless steel blade according to the instructions in the manual. Wash it by hand with dish soap or in the dishwasher. Be very careful as the blades are extremely sharp.
What to do if the appliance does not work?
Make sure the appliance is plugged in, the bowl is locked onto the base, and the lid is properly closed. Also check that the knob is not in the stop position. If the problem persists, contact Beaba customer service.
Can I put the bowl and accessories in the dishwasher?
Yes, the removable parts (bowl, basket, lids, cover) are dishwasher safe. However, prolonged use may accelerate their aging. It is recommended to wash them by hand for better durability.
How to descale the Babycook Express?
Unplug the appliance and pour a mixture of 100 ml water and 100 ml white vinegar (or Beaba descaling product) into the tank. Let it sit overnight with the lid open. Empty, rinse twice with clean water, then run a classic cooking cycle with 80 ml of clean water without food.
How much water to use for cooking vegetables?
Refer to the cooking guide in the manual. For example, for diced carrots, use 140 ml water (express cooking) or 160 ml (classic cooking). The water levels correspond to approximate cooking times (80 ml = 10.5 min, 100 ml = 12.5 min, etc.).
Can I cook frozen food directly?
Yes, it is possible to cook frozen vegetables and fruits. Thaw them beforehand in the bowl or in the refrigerator (never thaw at room temperature). Use the classic cooking cycle, adjusting the water quantity if necessary.
Why does the bowl leak during use?
Check that the bowl lid is correctly positioned and locked. Make sure the cooking basket is properly placed (tab in the spout). Check the condition and assembly of the blade seal. If the seal is worn, replace it.
What to do if the appliance whistles at the start of the cycle?
Immediately stop the cycle by turning the knob to 0. Do not open the lid. Wait about 10 minutes for the steam to dissipate. Check that the hole in the bowl lid and the steam outlet of the tank are not clogged. If necessary, unclog them.
Can I use the Babycook to reheat a baby food jar?
Yes, pour 140 ml of water into the tank. Place the open jar in the cooking basket (without lid). Start a classic cooking cycle. At the end, remove the jar with a cloth (be careful of heat) and stir the contents to even out the temperature. Check the temperature before serving.

REHEATING AND DEFROSTING

Add the volume of water required in the tank according to the quantity to be reheated then proceed as for the cooking cycle.

When you hear the sound signal at the end of the cycle, remove the recipient using a cloth (CAUTION the leftover water is very hot after cooking) and stir the contents with a spatula to obtain an even temperature.

Always check the temperature before serving the food to your child.

NB:

Although it is always best to use fresh fruit and vegetables which contain more vitamins, it is entirely possible to cook frozen fruit and vegetables that have been defrosted directly in the Babycook® bowl or in the fridge (never defrost food at room temperature).

CLEANING

• Always unplug the appliance before cleaning it.
- It is advised to wash removable parts by hand: bowl, basket, spatula, mixing blade, mixing cover, lid, seals, knife, etc. These elements are also dishwasher safe. Prolonged use of a dishwasher may cause the parts to age more quickly.
