Frequently Asked Questions - PTDP 1000 A1 PARKSIDE

How to start the PTDP 1000 A1 pump?
Plug the power cord into a socket protected by a residual current circuit breaker (30 mA). If the float switch is in the correct position, the pump starts immediately. To stop it, unplug the cord.
What is the difference between automatic and manual mode?
In automatic mode, the float switch turns the pump on and off according to the water level. In manual mode, the float is fixed vertically upwards for continuous operation (flat suction). Caution: in manual mode, the pump does not stop automatically, monitor it to avoid dry running.
How to adjust the switching height of the float?
The switching height is adjusted by setting the length of the float switch cable via the horizontal lock. The float must be able to move up and down freely. Ensure that the distance between the float and the lock is not too small to guarantee proper operation.
What to do if the pump does not start?
Check the mains voltage (socket, cable, fuse). If the pump is in thermal protection, wait for it to cool down. Clean the intake grille of the pump foot if it is blocked. If the problem persists, contact after-sales service.
How to maintain the Parkside PTDP 1000 A1 pump?
Before any maintenance, unplug the power cord. Clean the pump with clear water after each use. Check the float switch every three months and remove deposits. Clean the bottom of the well and the pump intake grille regularly.
What is the maximum allowed water temperature?
The maximum temperature of the pumped water must not exceed 35 °C. Above this, the motor's thermal protection may trigger an automatic shutdown.
Can I use the pump with salt water or flammable liquids?
No, the pump is intended only for clean water. Use with salt water, aggressive, abrasive, corrosive, flammable, or explosive liquids is prohibited and voids the warranty.
How to store the pump in winter?
Carefully clean the pump after the last use. Store it in a dry place, protected from frost and out of reach of children. Storage in frost can damage the pump.
What to do in case of insufficient flow?
Clean the intake grille of the pump foot with a water jet. If the pump is soiled by dirt or abrasive additives, clean it thoroughly. Also check that the discharge hose is not kinked or blocked.
How to claim the warranty?
Keep the receipt and the article number (IAN 403783_2204). In case of a defect, contact after-sales service by phone (0800 904 879 in France, 0800 71011 in Belgium) or by email (owim@lidl.fr). Send the defective product with proof of purchase and a description of the problem.

Screw the hose adapter 9 onto the pump discharge port 4 (see Fig. B).

The product is installed

  • either with a rigid pipe

  • or with a flexible hose.

To use a 3/4'' or 1'' hose, slip the hose over the hose adapter (fasten with hose clamp).

To use a cock with internal thread G 3 / 4'' (19 mm) to connect external hose connection systems, cut off the upper connections directly above the G 3 / 4'' (19 mm) pipe thread.

Settingup/hanging the product

Note: The product can be set or hung in water. Use the included fastening rope to hang and/or pull out the product.

The sump shaft should have a minimum size of 70 × 70 cm to ensure the float switch can move freely.

  • Attach the fastening rope 10 to the handle 1 (see Fig. E).
    ■ ATTENTION! Never hold or hang the product by the mains cable. This poses a risk of electric shock due to a damaged mains cable. Please note that dirt and sand may collect at the bottom of the sump shaft over time. This can damage the product. We recommend setting the product on a brick or grate.

If the water level is too low, the sludge in the shaft can quickly dry up and prevent the product from starting.

- Checks prior to initial use

Check the function of the float switch (see "Operation").
Verify the product is set up stable or securely suspended.
Verify the pressure line is attached properly.
Verify the electrical socket is in proper condition and the fuse size is adequate (at least 6 A).
Verify moisture or water can never come into contact with the mains connection. Risk of electric shock.

Operation

The product you have purchased is equipped with a Schuko plug. The product is intended to be connected to a 230V 50Hz Schuko socket with residual current device.

Note: Do not operate the product until you have verified all of the above points are met.

- Switching the product on and off

  1. Insert the mains plug into the mains socket. The product will automatically start running when the float switch is in the correct position (see "Starting automatic operation" and "Manual operation/flat intake operation").
  2. To switch off the product, unplug the mains plug from the socket. The product will stop.

Note: If the water level is too low, the float switch 5 will automatically switch the product off.

■ ATTENTION! Monitor the product during operation to detect automatic shut-off or the pump running dry, and to avoid damage.

Starting automatic operation

In automatic operation, the float switch 5 will automatically switch the product on or off.

ATTENTION! In stationary installations, regularly check the function of the float switch 5 (at least every three months).
The on/off point of the float switch 5 is variable:

Adjust the length the float switch cable 7 to adjust the on/off point. To adjust the cable length of the float switch cable 7, adjust the fastening point in the float switch cable lock (horizontal) 8 (see Fig. C).

Note: Check the float switch 5: It must be positioned to ensure it can raise and lower freely. The switching point height "On" and the switching point height "Off" must be easily accessible.

Check this by placing the product in a container filled with water and carefully manually raising, then lowering the float switch 5. This allows you to determine if the product switches on/off.
Also ensure the distance between the float switch 5 and the float switch cable lock (horizontal) 8 is not too small. If the distance is too small, proper function is not guaranteed.
When making the adjustment, ensure the float switch 5 does not touch the bottom before switching the product off.

Manualoperation/ flat intake operation

ATTENTION! Avoid the clear water submersible pump running dry! Risk of overheating! Never touch an overheated product! There is a risk of burns!

In manual operation, the pump does not switch off automatically, as this bypasses the float switch 5.

The float switch 5 must be set in the upright position, pointing at the top of the pump.

Pull on the float switch cable 7 and slide it into the float switch cable lock (vertical) 6 so the float switch 5 points at the top of the pump (Fig. D).
ATTENTION! Continuously monitor the product in manual operation. Switch the product off immediately (unplug mains plug) if water is no longer being pumped. There is a risk of damage if the product runs dry.

- Maintenance and cleaning

Clean and maintain your product regularly.
■ ATTENTION! Have any work not described in these instructions for use performed by our service centre. Always use genuine parts. There is a risk of injury.
Always unplug the mains plug before working on the product. There is a risk of electric shock or risk of injuries due to moving parts.

- Generalcleaning

Non-stationary products: Clean the product with clear water after every use.
Stationary product: Regularly check the function of the float switch 5 (at least every three months).
Use a water jet to remove any fuzz or fibre particles which may have built up on the pump housing 3.
Clean any deposits on the float switch 5 with clear water.
- Routinely clean sludge from the bottom of the shaft (at least every 3 months) and the shaft walls.
Dirt on the bottom of the pump can be sprayed off with clear water.

Any further measures, particularly opening the product, must be carried out by an electrician. Always contact our service centre for repairs.

- Storing the product

Clean the product before storing it away.
- Keep the product in a dry location, protected from frost and out of the reach of children.
If the pump has not been used for an extended period, it must be cleaned thoroughly after the last use and before using it again. Deposits and residue may otherwise cause problems starting.
