Preparation

⚠ WARNING! Risk of injury due to unintentional start-up. Do not insert the plug into the outlet until the device is fully prepared for use.

Control elements

Familiarise yourself with the operating elements before using the device for the first time.

On/Off switch (7)

  • Switching on: Move the On/Off switch (7) to the position "I" (ON).
  • Switching off: Move the On/Off switch (7) to the position "0" (OFF).

Fitting the carrying handle

Procedure (Fig. A)

  1. Fasten the carrying handle (6) with the two screws (21).

Setting up the pump

- Place the device on a firm, level surface that is safe from flooding.

- Option for fixed installation: Attach the device to the base using screws (not included) through the holes in the stand. Ensure that the drain plug (14) remains freely accessible.

- If possible, place the device higher than the water surface from which you want to pump.

If this is not possible, remove the suction line from the water after pumping or shut off the suction line with a stopcock.

Connecting the suction line

Notes

  • Do not use connection systems with quick couplings on the suction side.
  • If possible, use a vacuum-resistant spiral hose or a pipe as the suction line. Minimum diameter: 19 mm ( 34 ).
  • The function of the device cannot be guaranteed if there is air in the suction line.
    • Install the suction line so that it slopes upwards and not above the pump.
  • Replace damaged seals.

Procedure

  1. Remove the sealing plug (1) from the water inlet (19).
  2. Fit the backflow stop (20) on the water inlet (19).
  3. Fit a suitable hose on the backflow stop (20).

Connecting the pressure line

Notes

  • The package contents do not include a connection for a pressure hose.
  • Possible connection: Hose nozzle with male thread; G 1"
  • For maximum pump capacity: Pressure hose ∅ 19 mm

Procedure

  1. Remove the sealing plug (1) from the water outlet (5).

  2. If necessary: Fit the double nipple (4) on the water outlet (5).

  3. Fit a suitable hose.

Filling the pump

Notes

  • Fill the device with water before each use.
  • NOTICE! Danger of overheating! Avoid dry running of the pump!
    • CAUTION! Risk of burns! Never touch an overheated pump!

Tools required

- Special key (11)

Procedure

  1. Remove the cover (2) using the special key (11).
  2. Bleed the air from the connected suction hose.
  3. Fill the pump housing with water ( ≈ 1.7 l).
  4. Fit the cover (2) using the special key (11).

Setting the pressure switch

The cut-out pressure p is adjustable. At maximum cut-out pressure (5.0 bar), the device achieves the following discharge head: ≤ 50 m.

Difference between cut-out pressure and cut-in pressure p : 1.5–1.8 bar

This setting may only be carried out by a specialist.

Operation

Before use

  • Ensure that the mains voltage and mains frequency match the specifications on the rating plate.
  • Check that the power outlet is in good working order. Connect the appliance to an outlet with a fuse of at least 10 A.
  • Only connect the device to a power outlet with a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual current no more than 30 mA.
  • DANGER! Danger of electric shock! Make sure that moisture or water can never get into the mains connection.
  • Check the suction line: The suction end of the suction line is located in the water.

  • Check the pressure line: The outlet end of the pressure line is open.

  • The device is not suitable for connection to the drinking water supply.

Switching on and off

Notes

  • NOTICE! Not suitable for continuous operation! The optimum interval of use is 30 minutes pumping, 5 minutes break.
  • Overload protection: In case of overload, a built-in temperature monitor automatically switches the device off. The device automatically switches back on after it has cooled down.
  • When switching on the pump, make sure that the pump and the suction hose are completely filled with water to prevent the device from running dry.

Switching on

  1. Connect the power cord (13) to the power supply.
  2. Move the On/Off switch (7) to the position "I" (ON). After a suction period the pump begins to extract.

Switching off

  1. Move the On/Off switch (7) to the position "0" (OFF).
  2. Pull the device plug out of the wall outlet if you are leaving the device unattended or if you have finished working.

Operation as a pump

When the connecting hose (17) between the pump and the pressure tank (10) is disconnected, the domestic water system functions as a pump.

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the connecting hose (17): Loosen the coupling nut.
  2. Close the opening with the sealing cap (18).
Operation as a domestic water system: Undo the conversion.
