7. Micro-USBcharging connection

Thank you for choosing aHama product. Take your time and read the following instructions and information completely.Please keep these instructions in asafeplace for futurereference. If you sellthe device, please pass theseoperating instructions on to the new owner.

4. Getting started and operation

4.1 Switching on theproduct

• Slide the On/off switch (4) to the ON position to switch thespeaker on.

• Avoice noticationconrms that thedevice is readyfor operation. TheLED indicator (8) lights up blue.

4.2 Switchingoff the product

• Slide the On/off switch (4) to the OFF position to switch the speaker off.

• The LEDindicator (8)goes out. Note–Automatic switch-off

• Note thatthe speakerwillautomatically turnoff after 10 minutes without action (noaudio playback/no Bluetooth

function). Acorresponding announcement will play .

• Ifyou switchonthe speaker without having inserted amicroSD card, the speaker isin Bluetooth

• Ifyou haveinserted amicroSDcard, the speakerisautomaticallyinmicroSD modewhenyou switch it on.

• Ensurethatthe speakerisswitched off.

• Insert the microSD card correctly into the microSD card slot (5).

• Switch on thespeaker as describedin

4.1 Switchingonthe product.

3•Press Play/Pause(2) to start or pause audio playback.

• Press andholdTrack +/Volume +(1) to skip to the nexttrack.

• Press andholdTrack -/Volume-(3) to skip backtothe previous track.

• Brieypress Track -/Volume -(3) to reduce the volume.

• Brieypress Track +/Volume +(1) to increasethe volume. Note Thespeaker is onlysuitablefor the playback of MP3 les.

• Check whether yourmobiledevice (MP3player,mobilephone, etc.) is Bluetooth

• Ifnot, youcan onlyuse thespeaker withthe microSD card slot.

• Select "Hama PocketSteel" andwait until you hear the speaker emit avoice noticationand the speaker islisted as connected in the Bluetooth

• Alternatively,music playback can be controlledfromthe speakerasdescribed under 4.4Audio playback via microSD. Note–Connection impaired Afterthe speaker andterminaldevice have been paired, aconnection is established automatically. If the Bluetooth

connectionisnot established automatically,check the following:

settings of your terminal device to see whether "Hama Pocket Steel" is connected. If not, repeatthe steps listed under Bluetooth

• Check whether yourterminaldevice and thespeakerare less than 10 metresapart. If not,move themcloser together.

• Press thePlay/Pause/Modebutton (2)once to answeranincoming call.

• Press andholdthe Play/Pause/Mode button(2) forabout 3seconds to rejectan incoming call.

• Ifyou wouldlike to end acall, pressthe Play/Pause/Mode button (2) once during the call. Note–Callquality To increase the call quality, make surethat youare nearthe speaker with your mobile phone during the call.

4.8 Battery charging function

Warning –Rechargeable battery

• Onlyuse suitable chargingdeviceswith USB connections for charging.

• Asarule, do not use charging devices or USB connections that are defective and do nottry to repairthem yourself.

• Avoid storing,chargingorusing batteries in extreme temperatures.

• Whenstoredfor along period of time, batteries should be charged regularly (at leastevery three months).

• Connectthe included USB charging cable to the speaker’sUSB socket (7).

• Connectthe unusedplugonthe USBcable to an available USB port on your computer or another suitableUSB device.

• The LEDindicator will light up in red duringactive charging. If the battery is fully charged, the redLED indicator will go out.

• Pleasechargethe speaker foratleast 4 hours before usingitfor the rsttime.7 Note–Charging

• Ittakes approx. 2hours to completely charge theproduct.

• The speaker’s batterycan be charged whether the speaker is on or off.

• Ifthe battery capacity is lessthan 10%, the speaker will emit two acoustic signals. Youwillonly receive this information if thespeaker is on.

• The actual battery life varies depending on use of thedevice, thesettings and the ambientconditions(rechargeable batteries havealimited service life).

5. Care andMaintenance

Onlyclean thisproduct with aslightly damp, lint-freecloth anddonot useaggressive cleaning agents.
