Careful handling of the device reduces the risk of injury from the blade. ¾ Only hold the power tool at the insulated handles, because the cutting blade may come into contact with hidden power cables. Cutting blade contact with a live cable may pass voltage onto metallic device components and lead to electric shock. ¾ Keep the cable away from the cutting area. During the work process, the cable may become hidden in shrubbery and accidentally severed. ¾ Look for hidden objects in hedges, such as wire fencing, before commencing work. This way you can avoid a collision. ¾ Using a residual current device (RCD) with a triggering current of 30 mA or less is recommended. ¾ Hold the hedge trimmer securely and rmly in your hand. General information about the power pack: To obtain a long power pack service life, the follow- ing points should be heeded:
- Low power pack voltage reduces the stroke rate of the shears. The power pack must be charged in such cases.
- The lithium-ion power pack must be charged up prior to extended periods of non-use; e.g. prior to storage.
- Charging time: approx. 4 hours.
- The lithium-ion power pack can be charged in any charge state and charging can be inter- rupted at any time without damaging the power pack (no memory eect).
- To prevent self-draining of the power pack, pull the plug of the charger from the battery-oper- ated shears, as long as the charger is discon- nected from the mains. Tips for form-cutting ornamental shrubs (Fig. I J
