Frequently Asked Questions - PH3 Tenda

I cannot access the Internet after installation. What should I do?

Check that the router and adapters are properly connected. Make sure the computer obtains an IP address automatically. The PLC LEDs should be solid green. Reset all adapters if necessary.

How to secure the Powerline network?

Press the Pair button on one adapter for 1 second, then within 2 minutes, press the Pair button on the second adapter. The PLC LEDs blink then become solid green, indicating a secure network.

An adapter does not connect after being moved. What should I do?

Make sure all adapters are on the same electrical circuit. Before moving, check that the PLC LED is solid green. Use the Pair button to re-pair the adapter.

How to reset a Tenda PH3 adapter to factory settings?

Hold down the Pair button for about 6 seconds until the power LED turns off and then back on. Factory settings are restored.

What do the LED indicators on the adapter mean?

The Power LED is solid green when on, blinks slowly in standby. The PLC LED is solid green if connected to the PLC network, blinks rapidly during pairing. The Ethernet LED is solid green if a cable is connected.

Can I use the Powerline adapter with a router of another brand?

Yes, the adapter is compatible with any router or modem that has an Ethernet port. No special configuration is required.

How many Powerline adapters can I use on the same network?

You can use up to 8 adapters on the same electrical network. Each adapter must be paired using the Pair button to secure the network.

Is the speed reduced if the adapter is plugged into a power strip?

It is recommended to plug the adapter directly into a wall outlet. Power strips can reduce performance and cause interference.

Does the adapter work with a different electric meter or circuit breaker?

Adapters work on the same electrical circuit. If the meter or breaker separates circuits, communication may be blocked. Test on an outlet on the same circuit.

How to save energy with the adapter?

The adapter automatically enters standby mode when no network traffic is detected. The power LED blinks slowly. It reactivates instantly on activity.

Connect an adapter to a LAN port of a router for internet access, and plug it into a wall receptacle nearby.

Connect the other adapter to a wired device such as a set-top box, and plug it to a wall receptacle.

Wait until the PLC LED indicators of the two adapters light solid on.

1. Hold down the Pair button on an adapter for 1 second, and the PLC LED on the adapter starts blinking.
2. Within 2 minutes, hold down the Pair button on the other adapter for 1 second. Observe the PLC LEDs 📋 on the two adapters until they light up and keep on.

LED Color Status Description
		Off	The device is not connected to a power supply.
	Green	Solid on	The device is powered on.
		Slow blinking	The device is in power saving mode.
		Off	The device is not paired with another powerline device, or is powered off.
	Green	Solid on	The device is connected to a powerline network.
		Fast blinking	The device is pairing with a powerline device.
	Red	Solid on	The device is in poor condition. Try changing another wall receptacle until the LED indicator turns green.
		Off	No Ethernet cable is detected on the Ethernet port.
	Green	Solid on	An Ethernet cable is connected properly.

Button Description
Pair	Hold it down for about 1 second to start pairing.
	Hold it down for about 6 seconds (the Power LED will be turned off and then turned on again) to restore the adapter to factory settings.

Q1: I cannot access the internet after finishing the installation. What should I do?

A1: Try the following methods:

- Verify that your router and the adapters are connected properly.

- Verify that you can access the internet normally by connecting your computer directly to the router or modem.

- Verify that your computer has been set to Obtain an IP address automatically.

- Verify that the PLC LEDs 📄 on the adapters are solid green. If they are not, reset all adapters and try again.

- Verify that all powerline adapters are on the same electrical circuit.

A2: Try the following methods:
