Please read these operating instructions carefully as they include important information on

safety and how to use the equipment

CAUTION

• Important: In order to guarantee additional protection, it is recommended that a differential breaker with an intervention current not greater than 30mA is installed in the electrical system which feeds the device. For further information, contact a qualified electrician.
  Make sure the unit is perfectly dry before using it. Warning: Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water.
• This appliance can be used by children from 8 years of age and over, and by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities or who lack the relevant experience and knowledge, if they are suitably supervised or have been educated to use the appliance safely and made aware of the associated risks.
• Do not allow children to play with the appliance.
  Children must not perform cleaning and maintenance procedures unless supervised.
• Prevent the hot surface on the unit from coming into contact with the face, neck or any other parts of the body. Use the unit, holding it by the handgrip and when changing the accessories hold them by the plastic guards.
• Allow the metal parts to cool down before touching them.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard. Do not use your unit if it is not working properly. Do not try to repair this electrical unit yourself, rather contact an authorized technician.

• Keep the plates clean and free of dust, hair spray, styling gel, etc.
• To avoid dangerous overheating, it is advisable to unwind the entire length of the cord.

Switching the unit on

1. Insert the plug into the power socket.
2. To switch on the unit, slide the switch (2) to the required temperature setting.
3. Before using the appliance, leave the selected accessory heat up for at least 30 seconds.
4. To switch the unit off again, slide the switch (2) back to position 0.

Important: Never leave the appliance unattended when it is turned on.

Always use the stand (12) to hold the appliance when the fitted accessory is hot.

Changing the accessory

Only change the accessory with the appliance switched off and disconnected from the electrical power supply. When changing accessories, only touch the plastic parts of the appliance and the cold end (10) of the accessory. Metal parts may still be hot!

1. Press the accessory release button (4) and remove the accessory from the grip (1).
2. Fit the new accessory and push it firmly into the grip (1) until it clicks into place.

OPERATING TIPS

• This appliance has been designed to curl your hair, leaving it full of shine.
• Hair that has just been washed and dried can be styled better.
• The first few times you use this unit it is advisable to practice on small areas of your hair.
• The effect obtained depends on how thick and how long your hair is as well as curling time. Start by using a curling time of 10-20 seconds.
• To make the appliance easier to use, hold the cold end (10) of the accessory with your free hand.
• Use the various accessories supplied with the appliance as instructed below. If necessary, repeat the various steps until you achieve the required effect.
• Let your hair cool completely before combing or brushing it.

Triple iron/plate

Dry your hair fully before using the appliance. Separate one lock of hair and insert it between the hair clip (11) and the waving plate. Hold the accessory in position for a few seconds on each section of hair. For a continuous wavy effect, position the waving plate on the last wave in the previously waved section. For a tighter wave, do not touch your hair after waving it. For a softer wave, open out the waves with your fingers or brush your hair gently to increase volume.

Curling irons, 025mm and 38mm

To obtain ringlets and curls, insert the end of a lock of hair between the iron and the hair clip (11) and rotate the appliance to wind the entire lock over the complete length of the iron without overlapping. The greater the force you apply to wind your hair on the iron, and the longer the curling time, the tighter the resulting curls will be. At the end of the curling time, open the hair clip (11) and carefully remove your hair from the iron. To increase the duration of the curl, wind it around one of your fingers while waiting for it to cool.

Spiralling iron

To create hair spirals, insert the end of a lock between the spiralling iron and the hair clip (11). Wind the lock uniformly over the full length of the iron using the spiral as a guide. At the end of the time, open the hair clip (11) and carefully remove your hair from the iron.

ION FUNCTION

This product also has the "ION" function, which is always active during operation. The appliance produces a flow of negative ions.

What are ions?

Ions are electrically charged particles found in nature. Negatively charged ions help to purify the air by neutralising the positively charged ions that, by contrast, reduce its quality by retaining in the atmosphere many polluting agents.

An abundance of negatively charged ions can be found after a thunder storm or at the seaside or in the mountains, close to waterfalls and waterways where the feeling of wellbeing is due to the increased presence of pure, natural, revitalising air.

Improved hydration of hair

Negatively charged ions help to maintain the proper hydration of your hair.

In particular, they micronize the water particles present on newly-washed hair, enabling the stem to absorb more in order to restore the natural balance of your hair's humidity.

Conditioning effect on the hair

Improved hydration assists with the conditioning of your hair, has a regenerating effect and makes it softer and easier to comb, with greater volume and shine.

No electrostatic charge or "fly away" effect

Negatively charged ions help to reduce static electricity, the "fly away" effect and unwanted frizzles.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Always remove the plug from the power socket before beginning to clean the unit!

Leave the unit and any accessories used to cool down before cleaning.

This unit can be cleaned using a damp cloth, but it must never be immersed in water or any other liquid!

2009/125/EC and Regulation (EC) No. 1275/2008.

VALERA guarantees the appliance you have bought at following conditions:

1. The guarantee conditions for this appliance are as defined by our dealer in the country of sale. In Switzerland and in the countries subject to the European directive 44/99/CE the guarantee period is 24 months for domestic use and 12 months for professional or similar use. The guarantee period starts from the date of purchase as stated on the present guarantee card regularly filled out and stamped by the dealer or on the sale's invoice.
2. The guarantee is applicable only against submission of the present guarantee card or the sale's invoice.
3. The guarantee covers the elimination of all defects arisen during the guarantee period, resulting from proven faults in material or workmanship. The elimination of the defects will be made either by repairing the appliance or exchanging it.
