Only qualified specialists should be allowed to use the product on materials containing asbestos. The ambient temperature range for the tool during operation is between 0°C and 40°C.
  • The ambient temperature range for tool storage is between 0°C and 40°C. The recommended ambient temperature range for the charging system during charging is between 10°C and 38°C.

ADDITIONAL BATTERY SAFETY WARNINGS

A WARNING

To reduce the risk of fire, personal injury, and product damage due to a short circuit, never immerse your tool, battery pack, or charger in fluid or allow fluid to flow inside them. Corrosive or conductive fluids, such as seawater, certain industrial chemicals, and bleach or bleach-containing products, etc., can cause a short circuit.

  • The ambient temperature range for the battery during use is between 0°C and 40°C.
  • The ambient temperature range for battery storage is between 0°C and 20°C.

TRANSPORTING LITHIUM BATTERIES

Transport the battery in accordance with local and national provisions and regulations.

Follow all special requirements on packaging and labelling when transporting batteries by a third party. Ensure that no batteries can come in contact with other batteries or conductive materials while in transport by protecting exposed connectors with insulating, non-conductive caps or tape. Do not transport batteries that are cracked or leaking. Check with the forwarding company for further advice.

RESIDUAL RISKS

Even when the product is used as prescribed, it is still impossible to completely eliminate certain residual risk factors. The following hazards may arise and the operator should pay special attention to avoid the following:

Entrapment/contact with the moving belt

  • Especially during inverted operation, additional caution must be exercised to prevent operator's fingers and hands from coming into contact with the abrasive belt or being entrapped by the rollers.

Injury caused by dust

  • Wear eye protection at all times.
  • Wear respiratory protection masks containing filters appropriate to the materials being worked. Ensure adequate workplace ventilation.
  • Do not eat, drink or smoke in the work area.

Risk of explosion

Accumulated fine dust may ignite and cause fire. Keep the work area clean and free from dust. Dust collection and vacuum extraction systems should be regularly and thoroughly cleaned. When sanding metal, hot sparks may be produced.

Noise and vibration - Wear ear protection when operating the product. Do not operate the product for extended periods of time.

RISK REDUCTION

It has been reported that vibrations from handheld tools may contribute to a condition called Raynaud's Syndrome

RYOBI R18PF - RISK REDUCTION - 1

in certain individuals. Symptoms may include tingling, numbness and blanching of the fingers, usually apparent upon exposure to cold. Hereditary factors, exposure to cold and dampness, diet, smoking and work practices are all thought to contribute to the development of these symptoms. There are measures that can be taken by the operator to possibly reduce the effects of vibration:

  • Keep your body warm in cold weather. When operating the unit wear gloves to keep the hands and wrists warm. It is reported that cold weather is a major factor contributing to Raynaud's Syndrome. After each period of operation, exercise to increase blood circulation. Take frequent work breaks. Limit the amount of exposure per day.

If you experience any of the symptoms of this condition, immediately discontinue use and see your doctor about these symptoms.

WARNING

Injuries may be caused or aggravated by prolonged use of a tool. When using any tool for prolonged periods, ensure you take regular breaks.

When working on metal, sparks may be produced. Wear appropriate eye protection when working with the product. Do not work with the product for extended periods of time.

RISK REDUCTION

It is known that vibrations from power tools may contribute to a condition called Raynaud's Syndrome. Symptoms may include tingling, numbness, or blanching of the fingers, usually triggered by exposure to cold. It is believed that hereditary factors, exposure to cold, diet, smoking, and work habits contribute to the development of these symptoms. There are measures that can be taken by the operator to reduce the effects of vibrations:

Cold and damp conditions can cause discomfort. When working with the instrument, wear gloves to protect your hands and fingers from the cold. Before starting work, the main factor for developing Raynaud's Syndrome is the cold environment. Do exercises to activate blood circulation after each work break. Regularly inspect the tool. Limit the duration of vibrations per day.

If you notice any of the symptoms of this condition, immediately stop using the instrument and consult a doctor.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Prolonged use of the instrument may lead to gradual damage. When using the instrument for prolonged periods, take regular breaks.

RESIDUAL RISKS

Even when the product is used as intended, it is impossible to completely eliminate all residual risks. The following hazards may arise, and the operator must pay special attention to avoid them:

Contact with moving parts

Especially during maintenance, it is necessary to maintain such a distance that contact between the operator's fingers and hands and moving parts or sharp edges is avoided.

Injuries caused by falls.

  • Wear eye protection at all times. Wear respiratory protective masks with appropriate filters for the materials being processed. Ensure adequate ventilation at the workplace. Do not eat, drink, or smoke in the work area.

Explosion risk - Accumulated dust can ignite and

cause damage. Keep the work area clean and free of dust. The dust collection system and the vacuum system must be checked regularly and thoroughly. When machining metal, chips and shavings can be produced.

Use hearing protection during operation. Do not use the product for extended periods of time.

RISK REDUCTION

Warnings: The power tool must be used in accordance with the instructions. The tool may include a hook, a hanging loop, a finger guard, a right or left hand use. Risk factors such as vibration, work, diet, smoking, and work practice can increase the level of these symptoms. This measure can be taken by the operator, or the impact can be changed:

It is known that cold weather is the main factor that contributes to the occurrence of the syndrome. After each period of work, perform exercises to improve blood circulation. Take breaks during work. Limit the number of hours of work per day.

If you experience any of the symptoms of this condition, immediately stop using the tool and consult a doctor with these symptoms.
