INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING
GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING ELECTRIC POWER TOOLS

WARNING
When using electric power tools, follow these guidelines to protect yourself from electric shocks, injury and the risk of fire.
Read and follow all these instructions before using this electric power tool. Pay attention to the safety instructions. For safe working:
- Keep your work area tidy. An untidy work area can lead to accidents.
Operate the tool in a suitable work environment. - Do not use electric power tools in the rain. Do not use electric power tools in a wet or damp environment. Ensure you have good lighting. Do not use electric power tools close to flammable liquids or gases.
- Protect yourself from electrical shocks. Avoid touching earthed items such as pipes, heaters, ovens or refrigerators.
- Keep children away. Do not allow other people to touch the electric power tool or cable. Keep other people away from your work area.
- Keep your electric power tools safe. Unused power tools should be stored in a dry, elevated or locked place out of the reach of children.
- Do not overload electric power tools. You will work better and safer within the specified power range.
Use the dust collector. If you have accessories for attaching dust suction and collection devices, make sure these are attached and used correctly.
Use the correct electric power tool for the job. Do not use low-power tools for heavy work. Use the tool only for the intended purpose. - Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery which could catch in moving parts. Rubber gloves and non-slip footwear are recommended for outdoor work. If you have long hair, wear a hair net.
Wear protective glasses. Use a face mask if producing a lot of dust.
Use the power cable only as intended. Never carry the tool by its cable. Do not use the cable to pull the plug from the power socket. Protect the cable from heat, oil and sharp edges.
- Secure the workpiece. Use clamps or a vice to prevent the workpiece from moving. This is safer than holding it by hand, and leaves both hands free to operate the tool.
- Avoid standing awkwardly. Be sure to stand safely and evenly balanced at all times.
Take care of your tools. Keep your tools sharp and clean so you can work better and safer. Follow the maintenance instructions and toolchange guidelines. Check the power cable regularly. If it is damaged, have it replaced by an approved specialist. Check any extension leads and replace if damaged. Keep handles free of oil and grease.
- Remove the plug from the power outlet. If not using the tool, for maintenance and when changing tools.
- Do not leave chucks or adjusting devices in the tool. Before you use the tool, make sure that chucks and adjusting devices have been removed.
- Avoid accidental starting. Do not carry power tools with your finger on the starter switch, if they are connected to the mains. Make sure that the switch is OFF when you insert the plug in the power outlet.
- Extension leads outdoors. If working outdoors, use only extension leads approved and labelled for that purpose.
- Stay alert. Keep an eye on what you are doing. Use commonsense when working. Do not use electric power tools if your concentration is wandering.
- Check the tool for any damage. Before continuing to use the tool, make sure that protective devices or slightly damaged parts are working perfectly and as intended. Check that moving parts are working properly and are not jamming or damaged. All parts must be mounted correctly and work as intended so that the tool operates perfectly. Damaged safety devices and other components must be professionally repaired or replaced by an authorised workshop, unless otherwise indicated in the operating instructions. Damaged switches must be replaced at a customer service workshop. Do not use electric power tools if the ON/OFF switch is not working.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING
Have your electric power tool repair by an electrical specialist.
This tool has been manufactured in accordance with current safety regulations. To avoid user accidents, repairs should be carried out only by an electrical specialist using only original replacement parts.

WARNING
Your reactions can be impaired by alcohol consumption, medication, drugs, illness, fever and tiredness. If any of these conditions applies, do not use electrical power tools!
SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The tool must be connected to an earthed, 230V power outlet and have a minimum 10 A fuse.
- Do not expose the tool to rain or damp conditions.
Check the condition of the tool before use.
- Do not use saw blades made of high-alloy, high-speed steel (HSS).
- Do not use saw blades which do not correspond to the specifications given in this user manual.
- Ensure that all moving parts of the blade protector operate without jamming.
Use only sharp, undamaged blades and suitable accessories.
- Clamp workpieces firmly before starting. Never hold them by hand.
For large workpieces, use the mounts supplied.
- Do not use flanges or flange nuts whose bore is larger or smaller than that of the saw blade.
- Do not use damaged or deformed saw blades.
Use the blade only if protective devices are on hand and installed.
Replace bench inserts if worn.
- Be careful when cutting vertically.
Do not slow the blade by hand.
- Attach the tool to a stable base before use.
The saw head must move freely and return to its top starting position when released.
- Do not jam the ON/OFF switch in position.
The tool must come to a halt within 10 seconds of the switch being released.
In the case of dusty work, wear a face mask and protective glasses, do not smoke and stay clear of open fires.
Always attach the dust collector.

WARNING
Use the saw blades supplied only for wood and wood products!
LASER BEAM SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Do not look into the laser beam.
- Do not point the laser beam at people or animals.
- Do not use the laser beam on highly reflective materials. Reflected light is dangerous.
Have the laser beam repaired only by specialists.
- Do not touch the Laser 16 lens with hard objects.
Clean the laser lens with a soft, dry brush.

USE
Stationary, precise cutting of wood and wood-product lengths and shapes in a home environment.
The tool and accessories (follow manufacturer's instructions) should be used only as intended. All other uses are expressly excluded.
LASER BEAM (22)
The light from the laser beam allows you to line up precisely the cutting angle and the exact position of the workpiece on the bench.
The laser beam can be switched on as required: Press (23) to turn the laser on and press the switch again to turn the laser off. The network cable supplies power to the laser. The laser beam should be aligned before being used for the first time.
Set bench (3) to angle position 0^ .
- Loosen off laser-alignment screw (a) slightly (Fig. 7).
- Switch the laser on and align the beam so that it points exactly at the 0^ gauge mark of mitre cut adjuster.
PREPARATION
Insert rubber feet (26) supplied in their holes on the lower side of bench (3) (Fig. 6).
Insert extension arm (13) for large workpieces in the right and left holes in the bench.
- Slide side stop (21) onto the yolk of one of the extension arm (Fig. 1) and fix in any position using the lock nut.
Fasten workpiece mounts with extension arm clamps as per Fig. 6 to stop them falling out.
If needed, insert clamp (15) in right or left holder (14).
The tool should always be mounted securely using bolt holes (11) on a firm surface such as a workbench.

WARNING
Use the tool only in dry, well-lit surroundings.
Insert the Rear Anti-Tip (28) through the holes on base, then use the pin (a) to fix it (Fig. 8).
Pull out saw head lock bolts (8) and guide saw head up to its starting position.
Press the workpiece firmly against fence (4).
Fix both large and small workpieces in position with screw clamp (15).
- Do not remove workpieces from the bench until the tool has come to a stop.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
SWITCHING ON
Press and hold trigger switch (1). Allow tool to reach maximum speed. Pull lower guard lock lever (2) and slowly bring saw head to the workpiece. Use light pressure to cut.
SWITCHING OFF
Release ON/OFF switch and use handle to guide saw head back to its starting position.
SETTING CUT ANGLE
Switch tool OFF and remove power cord from outlet.
Vertical bevel cut 45^ - 90^ / 0^
Release lock lever (19) and use handle (27) to turn bench (3) left or right, until the mark aligns over the desired angle. Use the laser beam if necessary. Adjust litre cut angle snap into 5^ notches but intermediate angles can be set with out using the notches. Retighten lock lever.
Horizontal bevel cut 45^ - 90^ / 0^
Slacken off lock (18) on back of tool. Swing saw head horizontally to desired cut angle. Retighten lock.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
CHANGING BLADES
Remove power cord from the outlet before attempting to change the blade. Bring saw head (12) to starting position. Remove lower guard (7) by operating the lower guard lock lever (2) then raise transparent safety cover by hand until it hits the stop. Loosen screws a + b (Fig. 4) and remove the cover. Press and hold spindle lock (16). Loosen saw blade flange and screw (a) with a screwdriver and change blade (Fig. 5). Reverse steps to remount.
TRANSPORT AND STORAGE
Remove power cord from outlet. For transport and storage, lower the saw head and lock it in that position by inserting the safety pin in the hole in the housing.
DUST COLLECTION
Attach dust bag (17) with clamp to dust port (a) (Fig. 2).
Tip: The dust catcher will be more efficient if you empty the bag frequently. When you finish working, wash out the empty bag with a mild soap solution and leave to dry.
MAINTENANCE
- Remove power cord from outlet. Remove dust and wood chips regularly from under the safety cover. Keep ventilation slits and dust outlets clear.
Clean with a damp cloth. Do not use solvents. Dry well. - Have a specialist replace worn carbon brushes under housing screw.
SERVICE TIPS
- Store the tool, user manual and any accessories in the original packaging. That way you'll have all information and parts within easy reach.
To clean the housing, all you need is a damp cloth. Never immerse electric tools in water. See user manual for further guidelines.
Please provide a brief description of the fault to help speed up fault detection and repair time. If the tool is still under warranty, please enclose the warranty card and sales docket.

IMPORTANT
Opening the tool will void the warranty. To avoid transport damage, pack the tool securely or use the original packaging.
