General safety instructions

Read and observe all safety instructions and store them in a safe place!

Intended use

• Only use the hairdryer to dry and style hair.
• This appliance is designed for commercial use.

User requirements

• Read the operating manual in full and familiarise yourself with it before the first use.
  This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Only for European markets:

This appliance can be used both by children from 8 years of age and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and/or knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must never be carried out by children, unless they are supervised.

- Keep packaging away from children because it can pose a danger (danger of suffocation!).

- Keep the appliance out of reach of animals and protected against the effects of the weather.

Hazards

Danger! Electric shock due to damage to appliance/ mains cable.

Do not use the appliance if it is not working correctly, if it is damaged or if it has fallen into water. In order to avoid hazards, repairs may only be performed at an authorised service centre or by specialists properly trained in the handling of electrotechnical appliances, and using original spare parts.

Danger! Electric shock due to penetration of liquid.

Do not use the appliance near bathtubs, showers or other water-filled containers. It should also not be used in areas of high humidity.

If the appliance is being used in a bathroom, disconnect from the mains immediately after use because proximity to water presents a risk, even when the appliance is switched off.
▶ Always position or store electrical equipment where it cannot fall into water (e.g. washbasin).
▶ If you have wet hands, do not use the appliance and never connect it to or disconnect it from the mains.
▶ Never touch electrical equipment that has fallen into water and is connected to the mains, or reach into water to retrieve it. Disconnect from the mains immediately.
▶ Have the appliance inspected at a service centre before using it again.
▶ Only use and store the appliance in dry rooms.
As an additional safety measure, it is recommended that a tested residual current appliance (RCD) with a residual operating current of not more than 30 mA be installed in the circuit. Ask an electrician for advice.

Danger of explosion!

▶ Never use the product in an environment with a high concentration of aerosol (spray) products or in which oxygen is released.

Danger! Flammable!

The appliance must never be sprayed with aerosol (spray) products classified as flammable.

Warning! Burning and fire hazards

▶ Parts of the appliance may become hot during use. This poses a burning hazard!
▶ Always maintain a sufficient distance from any highly flammable items, such as drapes or curtains.
▶ Place the appliance on a solid and heat-resistant surface after use.
▶ Allow the appliance to cool down completely before cleaning or storing it.
▶ Do not leave the appliance unattended either during or after use.

Caution! Injuries due to incorrect handling.

▶ Only operate the appliance with the voltage stated on the nameplate.
▶ Only use accessories recommended by the manufacturer.
▶ Never insert or allow objects to fall into the openings of the appliance.
▶ Do not place any items in or around the air inlet and do not cover it.
When using a diffuser, never set the appliance to a high temperature as this could result in the overheating of the diffuser or appliance.

▶ Do not carry the appliance by the mains cable and, when disconnecting the appliance from the mains, always pull the plug rather than the cable or the appliance.
- Keep the mains cable and appliance away from hot surfaces.
▶ Make sure that the mains cable is not twisted or kinked when stored.

Operation

Preparation

▶ Check that the contents are complete.
▶ Check all the parts for possible transport damage.

Safety

Caution! Damage due to incorrect power supply.

▶ Only operate the appliance with the voltage stated on the nameplate.

Operation

1. Insert the mains plug into the socket.

The hairdryer has 3 heat settings and 2 fan settings that, thanks to separate switches, enable a total of 6 temperature-fan settings. Occasionally, the cold shot button can be used to fix the hairstyle.

1. Switch on the hairdryer at the on/off switch.
2. Select the desired fan setting.

Fan-setting switch:

▶ Fan setting 1, for a gentle airflow
Fan setting 2, for a strong airflow

1. Select the required temperature setting.

Switch for temperature settings:

• Temperature setting 0, for cold air
▶ Temperature setting 1, for hot air
▶ Temperature setting 2, for hotter air

Cold shot button:

By pressing and holding the cold button, the hairdryer can be switched to cold air for short periods. To return to the set temperature, simply release the cold-shot button.

1. Using the on/off switch, switch off the hairdryer after use.

Operation

Styling with the click nozzle

The click nozzle can be used to direct the airflow onto the styling brush. The click nozzle can simply be turned when styling.

1. Position the click nozzle and press it towards the housing (Fig.2 a).
2. You can remove the click nozzle simply by pulling it off in the direction of the arrow (Fig. 2⑥).

Overheat protection

The hairdryer is fitted with an overheat protection facility. Should the appliance overheat, the heating process is interrupted and only cold air flows out. After the appliance has cooled down, the heating element will switch on again automatically.

Maintenance

Warning! Injuries and material damage due to incorrect handling.

▶ Switch off the hairdryer before cleaning it or performing any maintenance. Disconnect the hairdryer from the power supply.
▶ Allow the hairdryer to cool down completely.

Cleaning and care

Danger! Electric shock due to penetration of liquid.

▶ Never immerse the hairdryer in water!
▶ Do not allow any liquid to get inside the appliance.

Caution! Danger from aggressive chemicals.

Aggressive chemicals could damage the hairdryer and accessories.

▶ Never use solvents or scouring agents.

▶ Only wipe the hairdryer with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
To maintain the performance of your hairdryer, regularly clean the air inlet with a soft dry brush.

Proceed as follows:

1. Twist the cover in an anti-clockwise direction (Fig. 3 ⓐ) and remove.
2. Clean the cover and air inlet with a soft brush (Fig. 4).
3. Replace the cover and twist it in a clockwise direction until it clicks into position (Fig. 3⑥).

Problem elimination

Hairdryer only runs with cold air

Cause: The overheat protection is active.

▶ Allow the hairdryer to cool down.
▶ Clean the air inlet.

Hairdryer is not working

Cause: Defective power supply.

▶ Make sure that contact between the mains and the socket is faultless. Check the mains cable for possible damage.

Disposal

Caution! Environmental damage in the case of incorrect disposal.

▶ Correct disposal will ensure environmental protection and prevent any potentially harmful impacts on people and the environment.

Adhere to the relevant legal requirements when disposing of the appliance.

Within the European Union, national regulations are specified for the disposal of electrical appliances based on EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive 2012/19/EU (WEEE). In accordance with this, the appliance can no longer be disposed of with the local or domestic waste. The appliance will be accepted free of charge by local collection points or recycling centres. The packaging for this product is made from recyclable materials. Dispose of this in an environmentally friendly manner by recycling it.
