• Introduction Congratulations on the purchase of your new device. With it, you have chosen a high quality product. During production, this equipment has been checked for quality and subjected to a fi nal inspection. The functionality of your equipment is therefore guaranteed. It cannot be ruled out that residual quantities of water or lubricants will remain on or in the equipment/hose lines in isolated cases. This is not a fault or defect and it repre- sents no cause for concern. The operating instructions constitute part of this product. They contain im- portant information on safety, use and dis- posal. Before using the product, familiarise your- self with all of the operating and safety instructions. Use the product only as de- scribed and for the applications specifi ed. Keep this manual safely and in the event that the product is passed on, hand over all documents to the third party. Intended purpose The home and garden pump is suitable for garden irrigation. With a pre-fi lter, the device is also suitable for pumping water from rain barrels, rainwater cisterns, wells, ponds and streams. The garden pump is intended for use in private homes and gardens. It is solely intended for pumping clear and rain water up to temperatures of no more than 35 °C. Any other use, not expressly authorised in these instructions (e.g. for transporting foodstuffs, salt water, motor fuels, chemical products or water with abrasive materials), may cause damage to the equipment and represent a serious risk for the user. Continuous operation reduces the durability and shortens the guarantee period. This equipment is not suitable for commercial use. Commercial use will invalidate the guar- antee. The operator or user is responsible for ac- cidents or damage to other people or their property. The manufacturer shall not be liable for damages caused by use other than for which the equipment is intended or by in- correct operation. • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of ex- perience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and un- derstand the hazards involved.MTGB

Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be car- ried out by children unless they are older than 8 years and are supervised.

• If the power cord of this device is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or the lat- ter’s customer service or by a similarly qualifi ed person in or- der to avoid hazards.

• The device must not be used at altitudes over 2000 m.

• Always disconnect the device from the power supply before assembling, disassembling or cleaning it. Working with the equip- ment: Caution: to avoid accidents and injuries:

• People who are unfamiliar with the operating instructions are not permitted to use the equipment. Local regulations or bylaws may determine the mini- mum age for using the device.

• Should there be people in the water, do not operate the equip- ment.

• Take appropriate measures to keep children away from the equipment whilst it is running.

• Do not use the equipment in the vicinity of fl ammable liquids or gases. Non-observance will re- sult in a risk of fi re or explosion.

• Do not use for water containing abrasive particles such as sand. The dispensing of aggressive, abrasive (grinding effect), cor- rosive, combustible (e.g. motor fuels) or explosive liquids, salt water, cleaning agents and foodstuffs is not permitted. Liq- uid temperature not to exceed 35 °C.

• Store the equipment in a dry place and out of reach of chil- dren. Caution! To avoid damage to the equipment and any pos- sible person injury resulting from this:

• Do not work with damaged or incomplete equipment, or with equipment that has been con- verted without the approval of the manufacturer. Before initial operation, have a specialist check that the required electri- cal protection measures are in place.

• Do not carry or fi x the equip- ment by the cable or pressure line.

• Protect the equipment from frost and from running dry.

• Use only original accessories and do not carry out conversion work on the equipment.

• Connect the equipment only to a socket with a residual current protection device (residual cur- rent circuit breaker) with a rated current of not more than 30 mA; minimum fuse 10 amperes.

• Before each use, check the equipment, cable and plug for damage. Defective cables are not to be repaired, but rather replaced by new ones. Have any damage to your equipment repaired by a specialist.

• Do not pull the plug from the socket by the cable. Protect the cable from heat, oil and sharp edges.

• Do not carry or fi x the equip- ment by the cable.

• Use only extension cables that are protected from spray water and designed for outdoor use. Always fully unroll a cable drum before use. Check the cable for damage.

• Before any work on the equip- ment, during work breaks and in the case of non-use, remove the plug from the socket.

• The cross-section of mains con- nection lines must be no smaller than rubber hose lines with the designation H07RN8-F3G1. The power cable wire cross sec- tion must be at least 2.5 mm

Initial Operation Setting up

• Place the unit on a fi rm, horizontal, non-fl ooding surface. and “Storage”. Any measures above and beyond these, par- ticularly opening the equipment, are to be carried out by an elec- trician. In the case of repairs, al- ways contact our service centre.

• The pump must be disconnected from the power supply before maintenance work (such as re- placing fi lters) is carried out by the operator. Electrical safety: Caution: to avoid accidents and injuries from electric shocks:

• After erection, the mains plug must be freely accessible when the equipment is in operation.

• Before operating your new pump, have a specialist check: - The earthing, the protective multiple earthing; the residual current circuit breaking must be compliant with the safety regu- lations of the energy supply company and function without fault, - The protection of the electrical plug connections from the wet. - If there is a risk of fl ooding, fi x the plug connections in an area that is safe from fl ooding.

• Ensure that the mains voltage matches the specifi cations on the rating plate.

• The electrical installation shall be according to national wiring rules.MTGB

• Always put up the garden pump at a point higher than the water surface you wish to pump water from. Where this is impossible, install a low pressure-resistant shut-off implement between the appliance and the suction hose (available from specialist retail- ers). Mains connection The home and garden pump you have pur- chased comes fi tted with an earthed plug. The home and garden pump is intended for connection to a 230 V~ / 50 Hz earthed socket outlet. Connecting the pipes - Use a pipe with a backfl ow stop on the suction side and fi t a pre- fi lter. - Do not use connection systems with quick couplings on the suction side. - Do not use the suction hose as a pres- sure pipe.

1. Remove the cover caps from the device.

3. Fit a suction hose (not included) to the

nozzle of the water inlet (9). Screw to- gether until airtight.

4. Fit a pressure pipe to the nozzle from

the water outlet (11) on the device. Screw together until airtight. The function of the pump cannot be guaranteed if there is air in the suc- tion pipe. Filling the pump (Fig. A) The pump must be fi lled with water each time before operation. Caution: Avoid dry running of the pump! Danger of overheating! Never touch an overheated pump! There is a risk of burns! When switching on the pump, make sure that the pump and the suction hose are completely fi lled with water to prevent the garden pump from running dry. Dry run- ning damages the device. Caution: No water may be poured in via the water out- let (11).

• Check that the electrical connec- tion is 230 V~ / 50 Hz.

• Check the proper status of the electri- cal plug socket and make sure that the plug socket is suffi ciently fused (at least 10A).

• Make sure that moisture or water never come in contact with the mains connec- tion. There is a risk of electrocution.

• Control the suction hose. The end of the suction hose must be placed in water.

• Control the suction hose. The end of the suction hose must be in outlet position.GB MT

The device is not suitable to be con- nected to a drinking water supply system. Switching on/off

2. Switching off: Press the Power button

(6). The pump switches to standby. In automatic mode, the pump will switch off if the water fl ow stops for more than 10 seconds. As soon as the water pressure has dropped suffi ciently, the pump will switch on again. Dry run protection The pump is fi tted with a sensor that pre- vents the pump from running dry.

1. If the pump runs for 30 seconds without

water fl ow and water pressure, the dry run protection will start.

2. After a 10 second pause, the pump will

This will guarantee its performance and long durability. Ask our service centre to carry out any work that is not described in these instructions. Use only original parts. Pull out the power plug before every maintenance operation. There is a risk of electrocution or of injury from moving parts. Never direct the water jet against the appliance, nor clean the appliance under fl owing water. This could give rise to the danger of electric shock and damage the appli- ance! General cleaning instructions

• Keep the motor fi ns and motor housing clean. To do so, use a damp cloth or a brush. Do not use any detergents or solvents.

• Remove any fl uff and fi brous particles that have accumulated in the pump housing by rinsing with water.

• In case the unit clogs up, remove the suction and pressure hoses. Flush water through the threaded hole on the pump in order to remove the foreign body.MTGB

In the case of repairs, always contact our service centre. Draining the pump (Fig. B) If there is a risk of frost and before longer periods of non-use (e.g. winter storage), the device must be completely emptied.

1. Open the drain screw (8) with the en-

closed key (14) and empty the water from the device.

2. Rinse the device with clear water.

3. Before restarting, the drain screw (8)

must be tightened again with the key (14) to prevent the pump from drawing air. Storage

• Keep the equipment clean, dry and out of the reach of children.

• Before longer storage periods (e.g. winter) drain the pump (see “Draining the pump”). Diffi culties in start-up can arise due to precipitation and residues. Waste Disposal and Environmental Protection Be environmentally friendly. Return the tool, accessories and packaging to a recy- cling centre when you have fi nished with them. Electric appliances should not be disposed of in the domestic gar- bage. Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment: Consumers are legally obliged to recycle electrical and electronic equipment in an environmen- tally sound manner at the end of its life. In this way, environmentally friendly and resource-saving recycling is ensured. Depending on the implementation in na- tional law, you may have the following options:

• Hand over to an offi cial collection point,

• Return to the manufacturer/distributor. This does not affect accessories enclosed with the old devices or tools without any electrical components.GB MT

Guarantee Dear Customer, This equipment is provided with a 3-year guarantee from the date of purchase. In case of defects, you have statutory rights against the seller of the product. These statutory rights are not restricted by our guarantee presented below. Terms of Guarantee The term of the guarantee begins on the date of purchase. Please retain the original receipt. This document is required as proof of purchase. If a material or manufacturing defect occurs within three years of the date of purchase of this product, we will repair or replace – at our choice – the product for you free of charge. This guarantee requires the defective equipment and proof of pur- chase to be presented within the three-year period with a brief written description of what constitutes the defect and when it oc- curred. If the defect is covered by our guarantee, you will receive either the repaired product or a new product. No new guarantee pe- riod begins on repair or replacement of the product. Guarantee Period and Statutory Claims for Defects The guarantee period is not extended by the guarantee service. This also applies for replaced or repaired parts. Any damages and defects already present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately af- ter unpacking. Repairs arising after expiry of the guarantee period are chargeable. Guarantee Cover The equipment has been carefully pro- duced in accordance with strict quality guidelines and conscientiously checked prior to delivery. The guarantee applies for all material and manufacturing defects. This guarantee does not extend to cover product parts that are subject to normal wear and may there- fore be considered as wearing parts (e.g. suction hose kit, prefi lter or fan wheel) or to cover damage to breakable parts (e.g. switches). This guarantee shall be invalid if the prod- uct has been damaged, used incorrectly or not maintained. Precise adherence to all of the instructions specifi ed in the operating manual is required for proper use of the product. Intended uses and actions against which the operating manual advises or warns must be categorically avoided. The product is designed only for private and not commercial use. The guarantee will be invalidated in case of misuse or improper handling, use of force, or inter- ventions not undertaken by our authorised service branch. We can handle only equipment that has been sent with adequate packaging and postage. Attention: Please send your equipment to our service branch in clean condition and with an indication of the defect. Equipment sent carriage forward or by bulky goods, express or other special freight will not be accepted. We will dispose of your defective devices free of charge when you send them to us.
