Wear sturdy pro- tective gloves and work carefully when installing, re- placing, cleaning or checking the seating of screws. ● Serious injuries from contact with the rotating knife. Keep the device under control with both hands until the knife has come to a complete standstill. Do not try to touch or stop the knife while it is moving. ● The brush- cutter is fitted with a carrying harness. Carefully adjust the carrying harness to distribute the weight of the de- vice. Do not wear clothing over the carrying belt or otherwise interfere with access to the quick re- lease buckle. ● Replace damaged knives. ● Make sure that the knife is correctly mounted and securely at- tached before each use of the device. ● Use only the manufacturer's replacement Tri-Arc knife and do not use any other cutting tools. ● Do not cut clippings with a diameter greater than 13 mm. ● Pull the cutting protec- tion over the knife before storing or transporting the de- vice. ● Remove the blade guard before operation, as the knife guard can be flung around when the knife starts to move. ● Always hold the device firmly with both hands. Working from right to left when cutting will make your work easier and increase safety. You can thus min- imise the risk of kickback if the knife hits an unexpected object. ● Only operate the device outdoors. ● Keep your hands and feet away from the cutting area, especially when switching on the motor. ● Risk of injury because the blades continue rotating after the motor has been switched off. ● Make sure that the ventilation openings are free of deposits. ● Check the device for damage be- fore each use and after any impacts. Wear warm gloves to protect your hands. ● Holding the device too tightly hindering blood circu- lation. ● Continuous operation is more harmful than opera- tion interrupted by work breaks. You should see a doctor if using the device regularly and for lengthy periods of time, and in the event of re- peated occurrences of symptoms such as tingling in the fingers or cold fingers. Extending the string length during operation The string on the device wears during mowing and be- comes shorter due to fraying and being torn off. A string that is too short will result in unsatisfactory mowing re- sults. Note The string length can be extended during operation.
