USER MANUAL RMC250E Redmond

Carefully read all instructions before operating and save them for future reference. By carefully following these instructions you can considerably prolong the service life of your appliance.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

  • The manufacturer shall not be responsible for any failures arising from the use of this product in a manner inconsistent with the technical or safety standards.
  • This appliance is a multifunctional appliance and is intended to be used for nonindustrial use in household and similar spheres of application: at home kitchens, offices and other working environments, country houses, by clients in hotels, motels and other residential environments. Industrial application or any other misuse will be regarded as violation of proper service conditions. Should this happen, manufacturer shall not be responsible for possible consequences.
  • Before plugging in the appliance ensure that the circuit voltage matches operating voltage of the appliance (see technical specifications or manufacturer's plate on the appliance).
    Use an extension cord designed for power consumption of the appliance as the parameter mismatch may result in a short circuit or fire outbreak.

CAUTION! While in use the appliance heats up! Core should be taken to avoid touching the housing, bowl, or any other metal parts while operating. Make sure your hands are protected before handling the device. To avoid burns, do not lean over the appliance while opening the lid.

  • Unplug the appliance after use, before cleaning or moving. Remove the power cord with dry hands holding it by the plug, not cord.
  • Do not place the cord in doorframes or by heat sources. Do not

twist or bend the power cord, ensure it is not in contact with sharp objects, corners and edges of furniture.

PLEASE, NOTE: damaging the cord may lead to a failure that will not be covered by the warranty. If the cable is damaged or requires replacing, contact an authorized service center to have the cord replaced.

  • Never place the device on soft surfaces or cover it to keep ventilation slots clear of any obstruction.
  • Do not operate the appliance outdoors to prevent water or any foreign object or insect from getting into the device. Doing so may result in serious damage of the appliance.

REDDONID RMC-250E Multicolor is equipped with a tau control panel and an LCD display with 3 backlight colours indicating different modes of operation.

I. PRIOR TO FIRST USE

Carefully remove the multicooker and its accessories from the packaging. Dispense of all packaging materials.

Keep at warning labels, including the serial number identification label located on the housing. The absence of the serial number will deprive you of your warranty benefits!

After transportation or storage at low temperatures allow the appliance to stay at room temperature for at least 2 hours before using.

Wipe the housing of the appliance with a soft, damp cloth, washen inner bowl, and let dry. Clean the appliance, to prevent extraneous odours during the first use.

Place the appliance on a flat, stable, and hard surface away from wallpaper, decorative coatings, or any other objects or cabinets that could be damaged by steam, humidity, or high temperatures.

Before operating, make sure that the outer and inner parts of the multicoaker have no defects, cracks or any other visible damages. There should not be any obstructions between the heating element and the bowl.

To Reset to Default Settings

REDDONM RMC-2500 Multicooker is equipped with a non-volatile memory. If a power failure occurs the appliance will store the current settings in the non-volatile memory. To reset to default settings press and hold down the "Menu" button. A signal is heard, the appliance is reset.

To Adjust Current Time

Plug in the appliance. Press and hold down the +^ or -^+ + button, +^ , - ^+ + ,and the OK" buttons and current time indicator on display will flash. Use the +^ button to increase and the -^ button to reduce the current time value. After the maximum value is reached the adjustment starts from the minimum value. Press and hold the corresponding button down to scroll through the digits. Select the hour value, press the OK", and select the minute value. After the current time is set press the "Reheat/Cancel."

To Adjust Cooking Time

REDMONID RMC-250E Multicooker enables to adjust the default cooking time of each programme. Adjustment range and interval depend on the selected cooking programme. To adjust the cooking time:

  1. Select an automatic cooking programme by pressing the 'Menu' button. The *Start/ Keep Warm, and OK' button indicators will flash. Press the **or*

  2. Press the OK (the corresponding button indicator and the Cooking Time indicator light up) and adjust the cooking time of the selected programme. The "+", "−", "Start / Keep Warm", and "℃" button indicators and the "Cooking time indicator on the display will flash. If the "Time Delay" function is applicable for this particular program, the "Cooking time indicator" is used.

Use the "+” button to increase and the "-" button to reduce the time value. Select the hour value, press the OK, and select the minute value. Press and hold the corresponding button down to scroll through the digits. After the maximum value is reached the adjustment starts from the minimum value.

  1. To cancel the adjustments press the "Reheat/Cancel" and start over.

To Delay the Programme

The "Time Delay" function enables programming the apolite to start cooking at a time that is between 10 minutes and 24 hours in 10 minute increments.

  1. Select an automatic programme and adjust the cooling time. Press the "Time Delay" button to delay the programme (the button indicator lights up, the display will show the "Time Delay" adjustment mode indicator). The "+",-,"OK", Start/Keep Warm", and "TC" button indicators will flash.

Keep Warm" Function

The function automatically activates at the end of a cooking cycle and keeps the dish warm at 75 - 80^ for up to 24 hours. "Start / Keep Warm" button indicator goes off, "Reheat/Cancel" button is flashing slowly. Display shows "Keep Warm" count up.

Preliminary Deactivation of the "Keep Warm

To disable "Keep Warm" in the beginning of cooking cycle press and hold down the

"Start / Keep Warm" button until the "Reheat/Cancel" button indicator goes off. To reactivate the function repress and hold down the "Start / Keep Warm" button, the "Reheat/Cancel" button indicator begins to flash slowly.

"Reheat" Function

  1. Follow steps 1-2 of the 'Standard Operating Procedure for Automatic Programmes'
    2 Press and hold down the "Reheat/Cancer" button. The button indicator will flash slowly, the reheating cycle will begin. Display shows "Reheat" count up. The appliance will warm the food up to 75^ and will maintain the temperature for up to 10 minutes. If the device is heated, the button to disable the function is necessary (the button indicator goes off).

"MASTERCHIEF" Function

The function is not applicable for "YOGURT" and "EXPRESS" programmes.

Eroducing/disabling the "Keep Worm" function, without changing the cooking time or temperature is not considered to be an adjustment.

The "MASTERchef" function can be an extremely useful tool when following complicated recipes, requiring multi-stage cooking techniques (beef-snacking, soups, and pesto).

To Adjust Cooking Temperature

  1. Press the "CC" button during a cooling cycle. The temperature value indicator on the display will begin to flash.

  2. Adjust the temperature. Use the "+" button to increase and "-" to reduce the temperature. Press and hold the corresponding button down to scroll through the digits. After the maximum (minimum) value is reached the adjustment starts from the beginning.

  3. To save the adjustments do not press any button for 5 seconds.

To Adjust Cooking Time

1 Press the "C/C" button twice during a cooling cycle. The time value indicator on the display will begin to flash.
2. Adjust the time. To increase the time value in 1 hour increments press the "+5" button, in 1 minute increments press the "−" button. Hour and minute value increase irrespective from each other. After the maximum value is reached a corresponding increment is added to the Press and hold the corresponding button down to scroll through the digits.
3. To save the adjustments do not press any button for 5 seconds.

If the cooking time is set to 00:00, the cooking cycle will be stopped.

Do not enter more than 1 adjustment within a minute, because the appliance will only save the last adjustment made. If the recipe requires to change both time and temperature, press the "I" button after the time or temperature adjustment. The appliance will save both adjustments as one.

To Save the Adjusted Programme

Within 3 minutes after a cooking cycle is complete you can save the adjusted programme to the memory of the apollice, replacing the initial programme with the new one. The time saved by this procedure is equal to the time saved in the previous

To Run the Adjusted Cooking Programme

When an adjusted cooking programme is selected, the display shows "---" instead of a cooking time value.

Select the programme and press the "Start / Keep Warm" button. During a cooking cycle, a short audible signal is produced to indicate each time and temperature adjustment. If the time or temperature of a recalled programme were adjusted once again, the appliance will offer to save new programme to the memory after the cooking cycle is completed.

Solved programmes can be adjusted in the same manner as automatic ones. However, new adjustments made to the programmes will cancel out all other adjustments that are already applied.

To Reset to Default Settings

The appliance enables to reset one adjusted programme or all of them back to their default settings. Select an adjusted programme and press the "OK". To confirm resetting press and hold down the "Menu" button, the programme will be reset to default settings.

A deleted programme will be replaced by the initial automatic cooking programme. To reset all adjusted programmes to their default settings press and hold down the "Menu" button from the standby mode.

Standard Operating Procedure for Automatic Programmes

  1. Prepare the ingredients according to the recipe directions and place them into the bowl. Ensure that all ingredients are evenly distributed below the maximum amount of ingredients in the bowl.

  2. Position the bowl inside the appliance and slightly rotate it from side to side to ensure that it makes full contact with the healing element. Close the lid until it is fully closed.

  3. Press the "Menu" button to select the required cooking programme. Use the "+" or "-" buttons to navigate through the menu. The selected cooking programme indicator, and the "+"-, "Start/ Keep Warm", and "OK" button indications will begin to flash. If the "line Delay" function is applicable for the selected cooking programme, the "Line Delay" option will be enabled.
  4. Press the OK button to select the cooking time of the programme.

"MULTICOOK"Programme

"MULTI-COOK" enables to adjust the cooking time and temperature according to your needs. If the cooking temperature of the programme is set to 75^ or below, the "Keep Warm" function automatically disables. To enable the function press the "Start / Keep Warm" at the beginning of the cooking cycle [the "Reheat/Cancel" button indicator lights up]. Default temperature of the programme is 100^ . The cooking temperature can be adjusted between 35 and 170^ in 5^ increments.

NOTE: If the cooking temperature of the programme is above 140^ the cooking time should not exceed 2 hours.

Default time of the programme is 15 minutes. Cooking time can be adjusted between 2 minutes and 15 hours in 1 minute increments (for the periods of time less than 1 hour) or 5 minute increments (for the periods of time over an hour).

The programme is recommended for baking cakes, puddings, puff pastry pies, yeast pastry, and different types of bread. Default time is 1 hour. Causing time of the programme can be adjusted between 20 minutes and 8 hours in 5 minute increments.

Maximum "Keep Warm" time is 2 hours. We recommend disabling the "Keep Warm" function when baking bread.

"COOK/BEANS"Programme

The programme is recommended for boiling meat, fish, vegetables, and legumes. Default time is 40 minutes. Cooking time of the programme can be adjusted between 3 minutes and 4 hours in 5 minute increments.

"SOUP"Programme

The programme is recommended for making different types of soups. Default time is 1 hour. Cooking time of the programme can be adjusted between 20 minutes and 6 hours in 5 minute increments.

"FRY"Programme

The programme is recommended for frying meat, fish, vegetables, poultry, and seafood. Default time is 15 minutes, default temperature is 135^ . Cooking time of the programme can be adjusted between 3 minutes and 1 hour and 30 minutes in 1 minute increments. 'Time Delay' function is not applicable for the programme.
Fry foods with an open lid. Follow recipe directions and stir ingredients occasionally to prevent them from burning or sticking. Let the appliance cool down thoroughly before restarting the 'FRY' programme.

"RICE/GRAIN"Programme

The programme is recommended for cooking rice and other grains. Default time is 35 minutes. Cooking time of the programme can be adjusted between 5 minutes and 4 hours in 5 minute increments.

"PASTA"Programme

The programme is recommended for cooking different types of pasta. Default time is 10 minutes. Cooking time of the programme can be adjusted between 2 and 50 minutes in 1 minute increments. "Time Delay" function is not applicable for the programme.

Cooking time of the programme starts to count down after the appliance reaches the required operating temperature (water comes to a boil and sufficient amount of steam is generated).
1. Fill the bowl with 600-1000 ml of water. Insert the steaming basket.
2. Follow steps 2-8 of the "Standard Operating Procedure for Automatic Programmes".

"PILAF"Programme

The programme is recommended for making different types of rice pilafs. Default time is 1 hour. Cooking time of the programme can be adjusted between 20 minutes and 1 hour and 30 minutes in 10 minute increments.

"BABY FOOD"Programme

The programme is recommended for making baby food. Default time is 1 hour. Cooking time of the programme can be adjusted between 10 minutes and 3 hours in 5 minutes increments.

"COTTAGE CHEESE"Programme

The programme is recommended for making cottage cheese. Default time is 20 minutes. Cooking time of the programme can be adjusted between 10 minutes and 10 hours in 10 minute increments. "Keep Warm" function is not applicable for the programme.

"YOGURT"Programme

The programme is recommended for making yogurts. Default time is 8 hours. Cooking time of the programme can be adjusted between 30 minutes and 12 hours in 30 minute increments. "Keep Warm" function is not applicable for the programme.

"SLOW COOK"Programme

The programme is recommended for slow cooking meat, fish, vegetables, and poultry. Default time is 5 hours. Cooking time of the programme can be adjusted between 3 and 12 hours in 10 minute increments.

"GAME"Programme

The programme is recommended for cooking wild game (tough and large cuts of meat) with a minimum of 10 minutes. The duration of the programme can be adjusted between 1 and 2 hours in 10 minute increments.

"OATMEAL"Programme

The programme is recommended for cooking poridges with milk. Default time is 10 minutes. Cooking time of the programme can be adjusted between 5 minutes and 4 hours in 1 minute increments (for the periods of time less than 1 hour) or 5 minute increments (for the periods of time over an hour).

You may also use the versatile "HUA TICOOK" programme to cook porridges (optimal temperature is 35^ ).

"DEEP FRY"Programme

REDMOND RMC. 250E Multicooker enables to deep fry foods using the basket provided. Default time is 30 minutes. Looking time of the programme can be adjusted between 5 minutes and 1 hour in 1 minute increments. The "Time Delay" function is not applicable for the programme.

  1. Follow steps 1-5 of the "Standard Operating Procedure for Automatic Programmes"
  2. Squeeze the handle of the deep fry basket and position it into the corresponding slot. Stop squeezing to secure. Everly distribute ingredients inside the deep fry basket.
  3. Follow the recipe directions. After the time specified in the recipe clauses carefully open the lid and add the deep fry basket. Do not close the lid.
  4. After the cooking cycle is complete, an audible signal is heard. The corresponding programme indicator and the "Start / Keep Warm" button indicator will go off. Lift the basket and hook it onto the rim of the bowl, letting excess oil drain. If the bowl is full, then the indicator will turn off to contact the programme press and hold down the "Reheat/Cancel" button.
    Caution! Cooking oil is extremely hot! Use oven units when handling the deep fry basket.

"PIZZA"Programme

The programme is recommended for making pizza. Default time is 25 minutes. Cooking time of the programme can be adjusted between 20 minutes and 1 hour in 3 minute increments. The 'Time Delay' function is not applicable for the programme.
Maximum "Keep Warm" time is 2 hours.

REDMOND

"BREAD"Programme

The programme is recommended for baking different types of bread from wheat and with addition of rye flour. The programme includes proofing and baking cycles. Default time is 2 hours. Cooking time of the programme can be adjusted between 1 and 6 hours in 10 minute increments. The 'Keep Warm' and 'Time Delay' functions are not applicable for the programme.

CAUTION! Use oven mitts when handling the inner bowl and removing bread out of the applionce.

"DESSERT"Programme

The programme is recommended for making desserts. Default time is 30 minutes. Cooking time of the programme can be adjusted between 5 minutes and 3 hours in 5 minute increments.

"EXPRESS"Programme

The programme is recommended for making side dishes of quick-cooking grains. Default time is 20 minutes. Cooking time of the programme cannot be adjusted. The "Time Delay" function is not applicable for the programme. Follow steps 1-2 of the "Standard Operating Procedure for Automatic Programmes", then follow steps 6-8 (shipping steps 3-5).

V. GENERAL MAINTENANCE GUIDELINES

Before cleaning the appliance, ensure that it is unplugged and has cooled down. Prior to the first use or in order to remove the odour after cooking, wipe the bowl and the inner lid of the appliance with vinegar water solution and steam half a lemon for 15 minutes using the STEAM programme. Use a soft cloth and mild soap to clean. It is recommended to clean the appliance after each use.

Do not use a sponge or tissue with hard or abrasive surface or any chemically aggressive substances to clean the appliance. Do not immerse or wash it under running water.
Clean the housing when necessary. Clean the inner bowl after each use. The bowl is dishwasher safe. By the end of cleaning wipe the outer surface of the bowl dry. Clean the inner aluminum lid after each use (not dishwasher safe):

  1. Open the main lid. Pull the inner lid up, holding it by two plastic holders located on its lower part, to detach from the main lid. 2. Wipe the surface of the inner lid with a damp cloth, if necessary, wash with warm water and mild soap.
  2. Position the aluminum lid into the upper slot align with the main lid, and push plastic holders until the lid clicks into place. Clean the steam release valve after each use:

  3. Detach the inner aluminum lid and gently pull the valve, holding it by the ledge, to remove. Rinse the valve under running water.

  4. Let dry and place back into its original position.

  5. Pull condensation collector toward yourself to remove.

  6. Pour out the condensate. Rinse the collector, following the cleaning guidelines provided, and position it back into place. Compliance with the user manual guidelines minimizes the risk of food particles or liquids accumulating inside the cooking chamber. However, if the inside of the chamber gets dirty, clean it to prevent improper operation or malfunction of the unit.
    Before cleaning the cooking chamber ensure that the multicooker is unplugged and has cooled down thoroughly!

Wails of the cooking chamber; the surface of the heating disc, and the casing of the central thermal sensor (located in the middle of the heating disc) need to be cleaned with a damp (not wet!) sponge or cloth. Remove any traces of soap or detergent if using any to prevent extraneous odours during cooking.
If there is a foreign object in the cavity around the central thermal sensor, carefully remove it using tweezers, trying to avoid pressing on the casing of the sensor. Clean the heating disc with a damp medium-hard sponge or a synthetic brush. If necessary.

When the multicopter is used on a regular basis, the heating discs may partially or completely change colour which does not indicate a defect and does not affect the operation of the unit.

We warrant this product to be free from defects for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase. If the appliance fails to operate properly within the warranty period and is found to be defective in material or workmanship, we will repair or replace it. This warranty comes into force only in case the purchase date can be proved with an original warranty service coupon containing a serial article number and accurate imposse of the company of the seller. This limited warranty does not cover damage caused by the failure to use this product for its normal purpose or in accordance with the instructions on the proper use and maintenance of the product, or any kind of repair works. You can determine manufacture date by the serial number on the identification label on the housing of the device. The serial number consists of 13 digits. The 6th and 7th digits of the serial number refer to the month, whereas the 8th digit refers to the year of manufacture.

Service life of the product established by the manufacturer is 5 years from the date of purchase, provided that the appliance is used and maintained in accordance with the user manual and applicable technical standards.
