Hedge trimmer safety warnings
- Keep all parts of the body away from the cutter blade. Do not remove cut material nor hold material to be cut when blades are moving. Make sure the tool is switched off and unplugged when clearing jammed material. A moment of inattention while operating the hedge trimmer may result in serious personal injury.
- Carry the hedge trimmer by the handle with the cutter blade stopped. When transporting or storing the hedge trimmer, always fit the cutting device cover. Proper handling of the hedge trimmer will reduce possible personal injury from the cutter blades. Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces only, because the cutter blade may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Cutter blades contacting a "live" wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool "live" and could give the operator an electric shock.
- Keep cable away from cutting area. During operation, the cable may be hidden in shrubs and can be accidentally cut by the blade.
Additional safety warnings
This tool is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the hedgecutter. Local regulations may restrict the age of the operator. When not in use, store the hedgecutter out of reach of children. When working with the machine, always hold it firmly with both hands and provide for a secure stance. The power tool is guided more secure with both hands. Wait until the machine has come to a standstill before placing it down. Other persons and animals should remain at a distance of 3 metres or more when the machine is being used. The operator is responsible for third persons in the working area. Never grasp the blade of the hedgecutter. Children or persons unfamiliar with these instructions must not operate the hedgecutter. Local regulations may restrict the age of the operator. Never cut a hedge while people, especially children or pets, are nearby. The operator or user is responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to other people or their property. Do not operate the hedgecutter when barefoot or wearing open sandals, always wear substantial footwear and long trousers. The use of sturdy gloves, non-skid footwear and safety glasses is recommended. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery which can be caught in moving parts. Thoroughly inspect the area where the hedgecutter is to be used and remove all wires and other foreign objects.
Prior to operation, check cutter blades, blade bolts and cutter assembly for wear or damage. Do not operate with a damaged or excessively worn cutting device. Know how to stop the hedgecutter quickly in an emergency. Before operation check the safe double locking function of the blade swivel mechanism. The blade can suddenly fold down, if unlocked and comes into contact with a branch. Cut a hedge only in daylight or in good artificial light. Never operate the hedgecutter with defective guards or without the guard in place. Always ensure all handles and guards supplied are fitted when using the hedgecutter. Never attempt to use an incomplete hedgecutter or one with an unauthorised modification. Never hold the hedgecutter by the guard. While operating the hedgecutter always be sure of a safe and secure operating position at all times, especially when using steps or a ladder. Always be aware of your surroundings and stay alert for possible hazards that you may not hear whilst operating the hedgecutter. Remove the plug from the socket:
- before checking, clearing a blockage or working on the hedgecutter.
- After striking a foreign object, inspect the hedgecutter for damage and make repairs as necessary.
- If the hedgecutter starts to vibrate abnormally, check immediately.
The hedgecutter should be stored in a dry, high or locked-up place out of the reach of children. Replace worn or damaged parts for safety. Do not attempt to repair the machine unless you are qualified to do so.
Maintenance
Always wear gardening gloves when handling or working near the sharp blades. Examine the machine and replace worn or damaged parts for safety. Always lubricate the cutting blade with protective spray before storage. Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure that the machine is in safe working condition. Ensure replacement parts fitted are Bosch approved.

Never touch electrical and telephone cables. These cables carry high voltage current. There is a high risk of electric shock. Maintain a distance of at least 10 m.
General safety instructions for power tools
WARNING
Read all safety instructions.
Failure to follow the safety instructions in the instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Keep all safety instructions and warnings for future reference.
Check the power cord for damage and signs of wear before each use. If the power cord is damaged, immediately unplug it from the outlet during operation. Do not touch the cord while it is still plugged in. Do not work with a damaged or worn power tool. If the power cord needs to be replaced, contact the manufacturer, an authorized service center, or a qualified specialist to avoid danger. Perform a daily inspection of the power tool and check for damage. This inspection must be performed after any serious impact or drop of the power tool. It is recommended to use a residual current device (RCD) with a tripping current of 30 mA or less. The check should be performed before each use. Ensure that the air vents are always free of debris. Follow the safety instructions and the instructions in the operating manual for the power tool.
Safety instructions for hedge trimmers
Keep all parts of your body away from the cutting blade. Never attempt to remove cut material while the blade is moving. Remove jammed material only when the tool is switched off and unplugged from the mains. A moment of inattention while using the hedge trimmer can result in serious injury. Carry the hedge trimmer by the handle with the blade switched off. When transporting or storing the hedge trimmer, always fit the protective cover. Careful handling of the tool reduces the risk of injury from the blade.
Always hold the power tool by the insulated gripping surfaces, as the blade may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a live wire can make exposed metal parts of the power tool live and give the operator an electric shock. Keep the cable away from the cutting area. During operation, the cable may be hidden in the hedge and can be accidentally cut.
Additional safety warnings
This electric tool is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the electric tool. Never allow the hedge trimmer to be used by children or persons unfamiliar with these instructions. Local regulations may restrict the age of the operator. If you use the hedge trimmer, store it out of reach of children. Always hold the electric tool with both hands during work, having previously assumed a stable position. With both hands you work more reliably with the electric tool. Let the electric tool come to a complete stop only after you release it from your hands. During work, other people and animals should not be in the working area. The operator is responsible for any damage within the working area. Never hold the hedge trimmer by the blade.

Russian | 59
Do not allow the trimmer to be used by persons unfamiliar with these instructions. The prescribed precautions may be limited by the operator's age. Never use the trimmer if other people, especially children or pets, are nearby. The operator or user is responsible for accidents and damage caused to other people or their property. Do not work with the trimmer barefoot or in open sandals. Always wear sturdy shoes and long trousers. It is recommended to wear protective gloves, non-slip footwear and safety glasses. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry, as they may get caught in moving parts. Carefully inspect the area where you intend to cut with the trimmer, and remove all wires and other foreign objects. Before using the trimmer, always check that the cutting head and other parts are not damaged. Never work with a damaged or excessively worn cutting head. Familiarize yourself with the trimmer's operating principles so that in case of emergency you can stop it quickly. Before adjusting the cutting head or tool, make sure that both adjustment levers are properly secured. If the adjustment lever is open, when passing through the cut, the second lock may be accidentally released and the blade bar may swing down. Cut only in daylight or with good artificial lighting. Never use the trimmer with damaged safety devices or without them. Make sure that all guards and safety devices are installed during trimmer operation. Never attempt to work with an incomplete trimmer or with a trimmer that has been modified in an unacceptable way. Never hold the trimmer by its safety device. When working with the trimmer, always pay attention to your footing and maintain balance, especially if you are standing on steps or a ladder. Carefully watch the surrounding situation and be prepared for possible dangerous moments that you may not notice while cutting. Unplug the trimmer from the outlet: before checking, clearing jams, or performing any maintenance, and before leaving it unattended.
After any impact with the trimmer, check it for damage and repair it if necessary. If the trimmer starts to vibrate abnormally, check it immediately. Store the trimmer in a dry, elevated or enclosed place, out of reach of children. Keep unused or damaged parts. Do not attempt to repair the tool yourself unless you have the necessary training for this.
Maintenance
Always wear protective gloves when working in the zone of sharp knives. Check the tool and replace worn or damaged parts on a regular basis. Before storing the tool, always clean it and apply anti-corrosion oil. Tighten all bolts and screws firmly to ensure safe working condition of the tool. For replacements, use only original spare parts.

General safety instructions
WARNING
Read all safety instructions and instructions for use.
Electric power tool. The warnings and instructions for safe operation and for working with the electric power tool may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
Keep all warnings and instructions for safe operation and for working with the electric power tool for future reference.
► Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded. If the power tool is used in damp locations, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock. Never touch the mains plug with wet hands. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. Always check the tool for damage before use. If the tool is damaged, have it repaired by a qualified person. Never operate a damaged tool. Keep the ventilation slots clean and unobstructed. Follow the safety instructions for operation and maintenance of the tool.
Safety instructions for working with electric hedge trimmers
Keep all parts of the body away from the cutting blades. Do not remove cut material or hold material to be cut when blades are moving. Make sure the switch is off when clearing jammed material. A moment of inattention while operating the hedge trimmer may result in serious personal injury. ► Carry the hedge trimmer by the handle with the blade stopped. When transporting or storing the hedge trimmer, always fit the cutting device cover. Proper handling of the hedge trimmer will reduce possible personal injury from the cutter blades. ► Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces only, because the cutter blade may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. If the cutter blade contacts a 'live' wire, it may make exposed metal parts of the power tool 'live' and could give the operator an electric shock. Keep the supply cord away from the cutting area. During operation, the supply cord may be hidden in the hedge and can be accidentally cut.
