  • The device is only intended for domestic/private use, not for commercial use.
  • This device may be used by children over the age of 8 and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental skills or a lack of experience or knowledge, provided that they are supervised or have been instructed on how to use the device safely, and are fully aware of the consequent risks of use.

The hair straightener must only be used for private use to straighten and style your own hair.

  • Risk of electric shock! Never submerge the device in water or other liquid!
  • Risk of electric shock! If the device should fall into water despite following all safety precautions, immediately pull the mains plug from the socket! Do not reach into the water!

6. USAGE

6.1 Please note the following before use

WARNING

Risk of burns and fire!

The device becomes very hot. When the device is switched on, it must only be held using the handle. Do not touch the coated hot plates 1. Do not clamp objects between the coated hot plates 1.

IMPORTANT

  • Untangle the mains cable 7 if it is twisted.
  • Do not pull, twist or bend the mains cable 7 and do not pull or route it over/on sharp, pointed objects or hot surfaces.
  • Do not jam the mains cable 7 in drawers or doors, for example. The risk of electric shock is increased if the mains cable 7 is damaged or tangled.

6.2 Straightening/styling hair

  1. Dry your hair thoroughly before using the hair straightener. Position yourself on a dry, non-conductive surface. Make sure that your hands are dry!
  2. Hair should be clean and free from styling products. The exception to this is special products designed to help straighten hair.
  3. Comb your hair with a large-toothed comb to get rid of any tangles.
  4. Unlock the hair straightener at the lock mechanism 6 by pushing the switch to the position
  5. To switch on the hair straightener, press and hold the ON/OFF switch 4 for three seconds.
  6. The heat-up phase is shown through three alternating flashing bars in the LED display 2. When the three bars are permanently illuminated, the temperature shown in the LED display 2 has been reached and the hair straightener is ready for use.
  7. The temperature can be increased by pushing button 3 The temperature can be decreased by pushing button 5. We recommend the following temperature settings:

  8. 120^ to 140^ : Fine, brittle, dyed, bleached hair

  9. 160^ to 180^ : Normal hair
  10. 200^ to 220^ Thick and resistant hair

  11. The temperature can be fixed by pressing the 5 button for 3 seconds. The button lock 11 appears in the LED display 2. To cancel the button lock 11, press the 5 button for 3 seconds. The button lock 11 goes out in the LED display 2.

  12. Part the hair into individual sections that are approximately 3 to 4 cm wide. Hold a section taut and place it between the hot plates at the roots.
  13. Slowly move the hair straightener from the roots to the tips in a fluid motion. Do not hold the hair straightener in one place for more than two seconds. This will achieve the best results without subjecting your hair to excess stress or damage.
  14. You can style the ends of your hair by turning the hair straightener inwards or outwards before running it over the tips of the hair.

Note

The hair straighteners feature a safety switch-off function. After approx. 25 minutes, the three bars in the LED display 2 start to flash simultaneously to remind you about the automatic switchoff. If you want to use the hair straighteners for longer than 30 minutes, switch the device off and then immediately on again. The safety switch-off function is then reset to activate again in 30 minutes.

6.3 After use

The hair straightener can only be switched off when the button lock is deactivated.

  1. To switch off the hair straightener, press and hold the ON/OFF switch 4 for three seconds. "OFF" appears in the LED display 2 of the hair straightener.
  2. Place the hair straightener on a non-flammable surface.
  3. After each use, pull the mains plug out of the socket.
  4. Allow the device to cool down.
  5. Do not wind the mains cable around the device!
  6. Store the device in a dry place out of the reach of children.
  7. Lock the hair straightener at the lock mechanism 6 by pushing the switch to the position

7. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Cleaning

  • Risk of electric shock! Always pull the mains plug out of the socket before cleaning the device.
  • Risk of electric shock! Ensure that no water gets inside the device!
  • Risk of fire! Do not clean the device with liquids.

Note

  • Your device is maintenance-free.
  • Protect the device from dust, dirt and moisture.
  • Do not clean the device in the dishwasher.
  • Do not use any aggressive, caustic, abrasive or corrosive cleaning products or hard brushes.
  • The housing of the hair straightener and the hot plates [1] may be cleaned with a soft cloth dampened with warm water.

8. DISPOSAL

For environmental reasons, do not dispose of the device in the household waste at the end of its useful life.

Dispose of the device at a suitable local collection or recycling point in your country.
