How to install the EHEIM air pump 100?

Place the pump above the water level and outside the aquarium. Use the wall mounting eyelet (6) to attach it to the wall. Cut the hose to the desired length, connect the diffuser and place it in the aquarium with its suction cup. Then plug the plug into a power outlet.

How to adjust the air flow rate?

Turn the air flow adjustment knob (1) to adjust the flow according to your needs. At the diffuser, you can also adjust the bubble size by turning the diffuser with a coin.

How to clean the air filter?

Regularly check the condition of the air filter (9). If it is dirty, replace it with a new one. A clogged filter reduces air flow and increases wear on the diaphragm.

What to do if the air flow decreases?

First check the air filter (9): if it is dirty, replace it. Also check the felt disc of the diffuser (4): if it is clogged, replace it. Make sure the hose is not kinked or blocked.

Can I use the pump below the water level?

No, the pump must always be above the water level to prevent water from flowing back into the pump. Do not place it on or above the aquarium.

How to fix the pump to the wall?

Use the wall mounting eyelet (6) located on the back of the pump. Fix it firmly to a wall using a suitable screw. Ensure the pump is stable and cannot fall.

What is the difference between the air pump 100, 200 and 400 models?

Models 200 and 400 have two air outlets instead of one for the 100. They also have a higher air flow rate. The operating principle and maintenance are identical.

How to change the felt disc of the diffuser?

Unplug the pump. Remove the diffuser from the aquarium. Open the diffuser and replace the old felt disc with a new one. Close and replace the diffuser. Perform this operation regularly to maintain good flow.

What to do in case of breakdown or malfunction?

First check the power supply and the outlet. If the cord is damaged, do not use it and have it replaced by the manufacturer or a professional. For any other failure, contact the EHEIM after-sales service.

Is the device submersible?

No, the device is not submersible. It must never be immersed in water. If it falls into water, do not touch it, first disconnect the power.

DANGER. To avoid possible electric shock, special care should be taken since water is employed in the use of aquarium equipment. For each of the following situations, do not attempt repairs by yourself; return the appliance to an authorized service facility for service or discard the appliance.
If the appliance falls into the water DON'T reach for it. First unplug the appliance immediately (Nonimmersible equipment only)
If the appliance shows any sign of abnormal water leakage, immediately unplug it from the power source.
- Carefully examine the appliance after installation. It should not be plugged in if there is water on parts not intended to be wet.
- Do not operate any appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, or if it's malfunctioning or if it is dropped or damaged in any manner.
- Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it will not be tripped over or pulled.

• To avoid the possibility of the appliance plug or receptacle getting wet, position aquarium stand and tank to one side of a wall mounted receptacle to prevent water from dripping onto the receptacle or plug. A "drip loop", shown in the figure, should be arranged by the user for each cord connecting the aquarium appliance to a receptacle. The "drip loop" is that part of the cord below the level of the receptacle,

to prevent water travelling along the cord and coming in contact with the receptacle. If the plug or receptacle does get wet, DON'T unplug the cord; disconnect the fuse or circuit breaker that supplies power to the appliance. Then unplug and examine for presence of water in the receptacle.

• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

• To avoid injury, do not contact moving parts.

• Always unplug an appliance from an outlet when not in use, before putting or taking off parts, and before cleaning. Never yank cord to pull plug from outlet. Grasp the plug and pull to disconnect.
• Do not use an appliance for other than intended use. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition.
• Do not install or store the appliance where it will be exposed to the weather or to temperatures below freezing.
• Make sure an appliance mounted on a tank is securely installed before operating it.

YourEHEIM air pump is delivered complete with air hose and outlet andcan be used for a variety of functions within the aquarium.

Some application examples: oxygen enrichment of the aquarium water, operation of filters and decorative elements or for creating a watercurrent. Before putting your EHEIM air pump in operation or performing maintenance work, please take a few minutes to read the following instructions carefully.

Safety instructions

Read the operating and safety instructions carefully and comply with all instructions prior to operating this (Keep these operating instructions in a safe place.

Never touch mains plug with wet hands.

Before undertaking any maintenance work, switch off all units in the aquarium or unplug the mains plug! In order to avoid danger, always have damaged power cords ② replaced by the manufacturer, the manufacturer's servicepersonnel or similarly qualified persons.

For indoor use only. For use with aquariums.

This equipment can be used by children above the age of 8 or by persons with reduced physical, mental or sensory capacities or a lack of experience or knowledge, provided they are supervised or have received instruction in the safe use of the equipment and therefore understand the risks involved. Do not allow children to play with this equipment. Do not allow children to clean or conduct user maintenance without supervision.

For your own safety we recommend that you make a drip loop with the power cord. This drip loop prevents any water running along the cord from reaching the electrical socket. If an extension lead with several sockets or an external power

supply is used, place it above the pump power connection.

When the line is damaged, the device must no longer be used.

To protect against contact voltage being too high, the fixture must have a residual current device with a rated release fault current not exceeding 30mA . Ask your electrician.

Do not clean the unit – or parts of it – in the dishwasher. Not dishwasher resistant.

Do not dispose of this product as normal household waste. Take it to your local refuse collection site.

The product is approved in accordance with the respective national regulations and guidelines and complies with the EU standards.

Putting into operation

• Check the unit for damage and for completeness.

Mounting location / Positioning:

• Always install above the water level and outside the aquarium (Fig. B) to prevent water from running back into the air pump
• Do not place on or above the aquarium. Choose the mounting location / positioning so that the aerator cannot drop into the water or "walk".

We recommend mounting using the wall mounting eyelet (Fig. B).

• Cut the hose ③ to the required length and connect the outlet ④ to the aquarium aerator. Place the outlet with suction device in the aquarium (Fig. B). If only one accessory is connected to EHEIM air pumps 200 and 400, which are provided with two air connections, please use a T-type connector available from your dealer. Never operate an air connection without a „load“, i.e. without hose and outlet.

• Place the outlet ④ in the aquarium.

• Connect the mains plug with the socket. Monitor the water level and ensure the correct ⑦ drip loop. (Fig. B)

Air volume adjustment

• The required air volume can be adjusted by turning the control knob ①.
• Set the required bubble pattern ⑤ at the outlet ④ (e.g. using a coin) (Fig. B).

Care and Cleaning

• Regularly check air filter (Fig. C) for contamination, and replace if required.
• The felt washer of the EHEIM outlet ④ may become clogged after some time. This will lead to an increased counter pressure reducing the flowrate and increasing the wear to the diaphragm. You should therefore replace the felt washer of your EHEIM outlet at regular intervals.
