EN - Instruction on mounting and use
Closely follow the instructions set out in this manual. All responsibility, for any eventual inconveniences, damages or fires caused by not complying with the instructions in this manual, is declined. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as: - staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments; - farm houses; - by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; - bed and breakfast type environments.
The hood can look different to that illustrated in the drawings in this booklet. The instructions for use, maintenance and installation, however, remain the same.
- It is important to conserve this booklet for consultation at any moment. In the case of sale, cession or move, make sure it is together with the product.
- Read the instructions carefully: there is important information about installation, use and safety.
- Do not carry out electrical or mechanical variations on the product or on the discharge conduits.
- Before proceeding with the installation of the appliance verify that there are no damaged all components. Otherwise contact your dealer and do not proceed with the installation.
Note: The parts marked with the symbol (*) are optional accessories supplied only with some models or otherwise not supplied, but available for purchase.
Caution
- Before any cleaning or maintenance operation, disconnect hood from the mains by removing the plug or disconnecting the mains electrical supply.
- Always wear work gloves for all installation and maintenance operations.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall not be allowed to tamper with the controls or play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without
supervision.
- The premises where the appliance is installed must be sufficiently ventilated, when the kitchen hood is used together with other gas combustion devices or other fuels.
- The hood must be regularly cleaned on both the inside and outside (AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH).
- This must be completed in accordance with the maintenance instructions provided. Failure to follow the instructions provided regarding the cleaning of the hood and filters will lead to the risk of fires.
- Do not flambe under the range hood.
- For lamp replacement use only lamptype indicated in the Maintenance/Replacing lamps section of this manual.
The use of exposed flames is detrimental to the filters and may cause a fire risk, and must therefore be avoided in all circumstances.
Any frying must be done with care in order to make sure that the oil does not overheat and ignite.
CAUTION: Accessible parts of the hood may become hot when used with cooking appliances.
- Do not connect the appliance to the mains until the installation is fully complete.
- With regards to the technical and safety measures to be adopted for fume discharging it is important to closely follow the regulations provided by the local authorities.
- The air must not be discharged into a flue that is used for exhausting fumes from appliance burning gas or other fuels.
- Do not use or leave the hood without the lamp correctly mounted due to the possible risk of electric shocks.
- Never use the hood without effectively mounted grids.
- The hood must NEVER be used as a support surface unless specifically indicated.
- Use only the fixing screws supplied with the product for installation or, if not supplied, purchase the correct screws type.
- Use the correct length for the screws which are identified in the Installation Guide.
- In case of doubt, consult an authorized service assistance center or similar qualified person.

- Failure to install the screws or fixing device in accordance with these instructions may result in electrical hazards.
- Do not use with a programmer, timer, separate remote control system or any other device that switches on automatically.

Use
The hood is designed to be used either for exhausting or filter version.
Ducting version
The cooker hood has an upper air duct B1 and an optional rear air duct B2*, for external fumes exit.
Select the suitable air duct and apply the flange C supplied, ensure to close the unused hole duct with cap D* supplied if provided.
Note: in some models upper hole B1 is supplied closed: Press firmly to detach the detachable part that closes the outlet hole and remove it.
Attention! The detachable part cannot be mounted in position again. Carry out this operation only if you are sure of the type of installation to make.
Caution! In some models the rear hole duct is not easily accessible, even when the tap (if mounted) is removed, in this case remove the plastic piece E1 or E2 that is blocking the hole duct, by unwinding using pliers and cutter. Check that the filter/suction selector (inside the cooker hood) G is in the suction (A) position.
Filter version
In the case where it is not possible to discharge the cooking fumes externally, the cooker hood may be used in the filter version by fixing a carbon filter, the fumes and vapours are recycled via the anterior grill placed above the control panel. Check that the filter/suction selector (inside the cooker hood) G is in the filter (F) position.
Installation
The minimum distance between the supporting surface for the cooking equipment on the hob and the lowest part of the range hood must be not less than 60 cm from electric cookers and 75 cm from gas or mixed cookers.
If the instructions for installation for the gas hob specify a greater distance, this must be adhered to.
! Electrical connection
The mains power supply must correspond to the rating indicated on the plate situated inside the hood. If provided with a plug, connect the hood to a socket in compliance with current regulations and positioned in an accessible area, after installation. If it is not fitted with a plug (direct mains connection) or if the plug is not located in an accessible area, after installation, apply a double pole switch in accordance with standards which assures the complete disconnection of the mains under conditions relating to over-current category III, in accordance with installation instructions.
WARNING!
Before re-connecting the hood circuit to the mains supply and checking the efficient function, always check that the mains cable is correctly assembled.
Warning! If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid hazard.
Mounting
The cooker hood may be installed on the wall or on the base of a cabinet; if supplied, use the hole gauge H to drill the correct distance, otherwise lean the cooker hood on the wall or on the base of the cabinet and mark the holes with a pencil.
Wall mounting - Insert the wall screw anchors J in the drilled holes and the two K screws in the upper drill holes, remove the grill and hook the cooker hood to the 2 screws, finally from the inside, insert the third screw L and lock them all in.
Cabinet fixing - Affix the cooker hood with the 4 M screws from inside the cabinet.
Operation
The hood is fitted with a control panel with aspiration speed selection control and a light switch to control cooking area lights.
Always open the vapour catcher N^*
If your product is provided with an electrically or mechanically activated valve, the keys and/or the buttons and/or the handles available are for controlling the lights and for opening and closing the valve.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Clean using ONLY the cloth dampened with neutral liquid detergent. DO NOT CLEAN WITH TOOLS OR INSTRUMENTS. Do not use abrasive products. DO NOT USE ALCOHOL!
Grease filter
Traps cooking grease particles.
If situated inside the support grill, it may be one of the following types:
Paper filter must be replaced once a month or if colouring appears on upper side, in such cases the colouring is evident through the grill openings.
Metallic filter must be cleaned once a month, with non abrasive detergents, by hand or in dishwasher on low temperature and short cycle.
When washed in a dishwasher, the grease filter may discolour slightly, but this does not affect its filtering capacity.
In order to remove the grease filter open the grill via the P hooks and free the R1 or R2 stoppers.
The self-supporting metal filter does not include a support grill, in order to remove the filter - pull the release springs P4 backwards and slide the filter downwards.
Charcoal filter (filter version only)
It absorbs unpleasant odors caused by cooking.
The saturation of the charcoal filter occurs after more or less prolonged use, depending on the type of cooking and the regularity of cleaning of the grease filter.
In any case it is necessary to replace the cartridge at least every four months.
The charcoal filter may NOT be washed or regenerated.
It may be one of the following types:
Rectangular S1, S2, or S3:
Mounting (S1 or S2): insert the rear side T and hook further to the front (U).
Mounting (S3): Remove the cover W by rotating the O knobs to 90°, fit the filter inside and lock in place with the central knob O, then close the cover.
Proceed in the inverse for dismounting.
Circular (V1, V2, V3, various models):
Bayonet mount: position the filter in the middle of the motor protection grill covering, ensuring that the reference X1, X2, or X3 on the carbon filter matches the Y1 or Y2 references on the conveyor, then turn clockwise; in case of dismounting, turn anticlockwise. If provided with a Z tape, remember to gently lift it first.
Replacing lamps
Disconnect the appliance from the electricity.
Warning! Prior to touching the light bulbs, ensure they are cooled down.
Replace the old light bulb with one of the same type as specified in the feature label or near the light lamp on the hood.
Remove the grill.
Remove the damaged light and replace it with a new one (see the table below):

Put the grill back.
If the lights do not work, make sure that the lamps are fitted properly into their housings before you call for technical assistance.
Rectangular S1 or S2 or S3:
Circular (V1-V2-V3- various models):
Assembly (S3): Remove the cover W by turning the handles O by 90 degrees.
Do not connect the device to the electrical supply until the installation is completely finished.
Regarding technical measures and safety measures in the application, before releasing vapors, strictly follow what is prescribed by local competent authorities' standards. - The extracted air must not be discharged into a flue used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels. - Do not leave the appliance without supervision. Improper installation may result in electric shock. - Never use the extractor without the correctly installed grille! - The extractor must never be used as a supporting surface, unless indicated otherwise. - Use only screws for fixing supplied with the product for installation; if not supplied, purchase screws of the correct type. - Use the correct screw length indicated in the installation manual. In case of doubt, consult an authorized service center for the extractor with qualified personnel.

Use
The hood is designed for both air extraction and air recirculation.
Recirculation version
The hood is equipped with an upper outlet opening B1 and an additional opening B2* on the rear side for the discharge of fumes.
Choose the most suitable opening and attach the flange, included in the kit, then close the unused opening with the cap*.
Note: In some models the upper opening B1 is closed: press firmly on the scored part that covers the outlet opening and remove it.
Attention! The scored part cannot be repositioned, so perform this operation only if you are sure of the type of installation that will be carried out.
Attention! In some models, the rear outlet opening is inaccessible after removing the cap (when it is installed), in which case it is necessary to remove the plastic cap E1 or E2 using pliers or a cutter. Make sure that the switch G (inside the hood) is in the extraction mode (A).
Extraction version
If it is impossible to remove the fumes produced during cooking, the hood can be used in recirculation mode by installing a charcoal filter, through which the fumes pass through the grille installed on the control panel. Check that the switch is in recirculation mode (F).
Installation
The distance between the lower edge of the hood and the support surface of the cooktop must be at least 60 cm for electric cooktops, and at least 75 cm for gas or combination cooktops.
If the installation instructions for the gas cooktop specify a greater distance, take that into account.

Electrical connection
The hood must correspond to the voltage indicated on the technical data plate, which is located inside the appliance. If the hood is equipped with a plug, connect the hood to a suitable socket. It must comply with current regulations and be located in an accessible place. It can be plugged in after installation. If the hood is not equipped with a plug (direct connection to the mains), and the socket is not located in an accessible place, also after installation, use an approved two-pole switch that ensures complete disconnection from the mains under conditions of overvoltage category 3, in accordance with installation instructions.

WARNING!
Before connecting the electrical system of the hood to the power supply, check that it is functioning properly and make sure that the power cable is correctly installed.
WARNING! To avoid any risks, the operation of replacing the power cable must be carried out by qualified personnel from the technical service.
Installation
The hood can be hung on the wall or placed on the bottom of a cabinet; use the cardboard template (if included in the kit) to determine the drilling points. In case of wall mounting, place the hood on the wall or on the bottom of the cabinet and mark the holes with a pencil.
Wall mounting: insert the expansion plugs into the pre-drilled holes, insert the two screws into the upper holes, remove the grid, fix the hood on the screws, and then tighten.
Cabinet mounting: fix the hood with 4 screws inside the cabinet.
Operation
The hood is equipped with a control panel for adjusting the speed of the extraction fan and switching on the light for illuminating the cooking surface.
Always open the damper flap before use. If your appliance has a mechanical or electrical valve, button, key, or adjustment knob, it serves for adjusting the light and for opening/closing the flap.
Care
Cleaning
For cleaning, use only a special cloth moistened with neutral liquid detergent. Do not use any tools for cleaning. Do not use products containing abrasive materials. DO NOT USE ALCOHOL!
Grease filters
The upper part of the filter grid is dirty.
When installing inside the grid, the filters have the following options:
The paper filter must be replaced once a month. If the upper part becomes dark, replacement is recommended in the case when light becomes dim through the grid openings.
The metal filter is cleaned once a month with mild detergents or in dishwashers at low temperatures with a short wash cycle.
Washing in a dishwasher may cause some discoloration of the filter, but its filtering characteristics remain completely unchanged. To remove the filter from the grease, it is necessary to open the grid with the hooks P and remove the filter F1 or F2.
The self-supporting metal filter is not equipped with a supporting grid; to remove it, press the clips P4 and pull the filter K3.
Charcoal filter (only in recirculation mode)
Remove the grease filters.
Saturation of the charcoal filter occurs after a more or less long period of operation, determined by the type of cooking and the frequency of cleaning of the grease filters. In any case, replace the cartridges at least every 4 months.
The charcoal filter cannot be washed or regenerated. There are the following options:
Rectangular S1, S2, S3:
Installation (S1 or S2): Insert the tab side and attach it to the front part (U).
Installation (S3): Remove the cap W, turning it 90° by hand O.
Insert the replacement charcoal element into the corresponding compartment, fix it by turning 90° with the handle O, and close the cap again.
To remove, perform the operations in reverse order.
Knobs (V1-V2-V3 different models):
Install the filter behind the protective grille of the internal mechanism and check that X1 or X2 or X3 on the carbon filter matches Y1 or Y2 on the zone, then turn clockwise; for removal, if there is a tab (tongue) Z, lift it and then turn counterclockwise.
Replacing the lamp
Disconnect the appliance from the electrical supply.
Warning! Before touching the lamps, make sure they have cooled down.
Replace the damaged lamp with a new one of the same type as indicated on the label, next to the lamp on the extractor.
Remove the grease filters and the extractor grille.
Unscrew the damaged lamp and replace it with a new one (see table below).

Reinstall the grease filters and the extractor grille.
If the lighting system does not work, check the correct installation of the lamps in the sockets before contacting the technical support center.

Use
The extractor has a specific purpose: it sucks in and exhausts or filters the air, while at the same time recycling it.
Extractor version
The extractors are equipped with a top air outlet B1 and optionally with a rear air outlet B2*, for the discharge of fumes and vapors.
IMPORTANT: The supplier must be informed of any unauthorized opening of the supply opening, if it has been provided.
Note: When the hood is in operation, the opening B1 must be closed.
Press firmly to eliminate the technical problem that the opening is causing.
WARNING! The technical sheet cannot be mounted again; therefore, before sending it to the service, you must strictly follow the instructions in the selection.
WARNING! On some models, the air outlet opening does not affect the operation, but when the flap (if mounted) is moved, in that case the plastic part E1 or E2, which closes the opening, must be removed using pliers. Check that the suction/filter selector (inside the hood) is set to the suction position (A).
FILTER VERSION
If it is not possible to discharge the fumes and vapors outside, the filter version can be used by installing a charcoal filter; the fumes and vapors are recycled through a front grille placed on the hood. Check that the suction/filter selector is set to the filter position (F).
INSTALLATION
The minimum distance between the surface on which the cooking vessels are placed and the lower part of the kitchen hood must be not less than 60 cm in the case of electric cookers and not less than 75 cm in the case of gas or combination cookers.
If the instructions for the gas cooker specify a greater distance, this must be respected.

Electrical connection
The voltage in the electrical network must correspond to the voltage indicated on the rating plate on the inside of the hood. If it is connected with a plug to the contact, the corresponding standards must be followed, and the plug must be accessible after installation. If it is not connected with a plug (direct connection to the network), or if the plug is not in an accessible place after installation, use a bipolar switch that complies with the standards, so that the connection to the network is complete with a contact opening of at least 3 mm, in accordance with the installation rules.
WARNING!
Before connecting the hood to the network and checking that it functions correctly, check that the cable is mounted as it should be.
WARNING! The replacement of the cable must be carried out by an authorized technical service, to avoid any risk.
MOUNTING
The extractor hood can be mounted on a wall or on a wall cabinet; if supplied, use the template for drilling holes at the correct distance; otherwise, position the hood against the wall or wall cabinet and mark the points where the holes are to be drilled.
WALL MOUNTING - Place the wall brackets over the drilled holes and insert the upper screws, then hang the grille and the hood on the upper screws, and finally, from the inside, insert a third screw and tighten all.
MOUNTING ON A WALL CABINET - Fix the hood with the 4 screws on the underside of the cabinet.
USE
The hoods are equipped with a control panel with speed adjustment and a light switch for the hob.
Open the air outlet by removing the cap on the top.
If the model you purchased has a damper with electric or mechanical locking, the dampers and/or levers and/or rods serve to adjust the lights and to open and close the damper.
MAINTENANCE
CLEANING
For cleaning, use ONLY a cloth dampened with neutral liquid detergent. DO NOT USE TOOLS OR DEVICES FOR CLEANING!
Avoid detergents containing abrasive particles. USE GLOVES!
GREASE FILTER
The filter retains the grease particles released during cooking.
If it is located on the visible grille, the filter can be removed as follows:
Replace the filter and the lamp every 6 months, or when the room is lit, when the lighting is insufficient to see clearly through the openings of the grille.
Replace the filter and the lamp every 6 months with neutral detergents, by hand, in the washing machine at low temperature and short program.
When washing in the washing machine, the metal grease filter may deform, but its properties do not change in any way.
To remove the grease filter, open the grille by pulling the handle P and release it from the retainers R1 and R2.
The activated carbon filter has a support grille; to remove it, pull the release handle P4 and extract the filter upwards.
Activated carbon filter (only for filtering version)
Hold the handles of the lamps, which are separated from the support.
The activated carbon filter should be replaced periodically depending on the type of cooking and how often you clean the filter.
In any case, it is necessary to replace the activated carbon filter every four months or when the indicator for cleaning the filters shows that it is necessary.
Do not use it again.
It may be one of the following causes:
Mounting: To remove the cover W, turn the knob O by 90 degrees.
To insert the upper part into the designated place and fix it, turn the knob O by 90 degrees, then close the cover.
Proceed in the reverse order when dismounting.
Shape V (V1-V2-V3 - different models):
Turn the knob on the protective grille of the motor counterclockwise, paying attention to the designation X1 or X2 or X3 on the front filter to match the designation Y1 or Y2 on the corresponding device. After that, turn it clockwise. When disassembling, turn it counterclockwise, opposite to the clockwise direction, if there is a spring, it must first be lifted.

Remove the unit from the grid.
Attention! Before taking the knob, check that it is installed.
Replace the damaged lamp with a new one of the same type, as indicated on the label with the characteristics near the lamp on the aspirator.
