- Improper use can lead to leakages from the rechargeable battery. Avoid contact with the fluid. In case of accidental contact with battery fluid, rinse with water. In case of contact with the eyes please seek medical assistance. Leaking battery fluid can lead to skin irritations or burns.
The device must not be opened and the rechargeable battery not be removed. Injury and fire hazard.

Service

If the electric tool needs to be repaired, have the repair carried out by specialist personnel and instruct them to use only original spare parts. This ensures the operational safety of the electric tool.

Tool-specific safety instructions for shrub shears

• Keep all body parts away from the cutting blade. Never attempt to remove any cuttings or hold material to be cut while the blade is still running. Do not remove cuttings that have become stuck unless the tool is switched off. A moment of carelessness while using the battery-powered shears may cause serious injury.

• Only carry the hedge shear by its handle and if the blade is standing still. Always slip on the protective cover when transporting or storing the battery-powered shears. Handling the tool carefully reduces the risk of injury caused by the blade.
  -Only use the battery-powered shears together with Accu 50 EM B / 50 EM C shearing blades as intended for private purposes and to tend to bushes, hedges, and shrubs.

Tool-specific safety instructions for lawn shears

• Only use the battery-powered shears together with Accu 50 EM R as intended for private purposes and to tend to the edges of lawns and smaller lawn surfaces.
  Before starting to trim lawn surfaces or edges, clean the lawn of any foreign objects such as branches, stones, wire, etc.
• Use the tool only in daylight or sufficient artificial lighting.

General safety instructions for using lawn, contour, and shrub shears

• Do not use the battery-powered shears for composting purposes due to the risk of bodily harm to the user.
• You should refrain from using the battery-powered shears on public grounds, in parks, sports facilities, on roads, etc. as well as for agricultural / forestry purposes.
  Work at a height where you do not run the risk of the blade coming into contact with the ground.
• Do not switch on the tool until your hands and feet are far enough away from the cutting blades.
• Please note that there is always a risk of injury due to residual charge when switching on the device even after it has been discharged.

Maintenance

Charger

Do not connect the charger to the power socket if it has become wet or damp.
Use the charger in dry rooms only.
- Disconnect it from the power supply by removing the plug from the socket. Do not pull the plug by the cable as this could damage the equipment so that its electrical safety might be impaired.
- Never use the charger, if there is visible damage to the cable, the plug or the charger itself. In this case, have the charger repaired at a specialized workshop.
- Never open the charger housing. In the event of malfunction, have the charger repaired by a specialized workshop.
- Do not charge the battery-powered shears while using them.

Risk of fire!

• Never charge batteries near acids or flammable materials.
• Charge battery only at a temperature between 10 - 45^ . After heavy use, allow battery to cool down before charging it.

Risk of explosion!

Protect the battery-powered trimmer from direct exposure to heat and fire.

Do not place the battery on radiators. Avoid prolonged direct exposure to sunlight.
Operate the tool only at temperatures between -20 to +45 ^ C (-4 to 113 F).

Risk of short circuits

The tool must not be opened and the rechargeable battery not be removed.
The tool must not be short-circuited and no items must be inserted into the charging socket.

Disposal of rechargeable batteries in an environmentally acceptable manner

• According to the current state of technology, WOLF garden-batteries are the best solution for cordless electric devices. Li-ion cells are harmful to the environment if disposed of with conventional domestic waste.
  WOLF garden-batteries are Li-Ion batteries and therefore hazardous waste. Please hand defective batteries over to your specialist dealer.

Disposal in an environmentally acceptable manner

CAUTION! Unusable electric or battery-operated devices must not be disposed of with domestic waste. According to guideline 2002/96/EG for electric and electronic equipment these must be collected and professionally recycled. Never dispose of batteries or rechargeable batteries with domestic waste.

Storage box/charging station A B

• Assemble the storage box in a dry location that remains frost-free in the winter.

• The storage box can be used as a charging station. If you want to use it for this purpose, place the storage box no further than 150cm away from a mains socket B

• Use the base plate as a drilling template A to mark the upper fastening points (1) (2).

• Install two screws at the fastening points (Ø 8mm screw head) with the shaft of the screw heads protruding approx. 6-8 mm from the support.
• Hook the storage box on the screw heads.
• Use a third screw to attach the storage box at the bottom bore (3).

Recharge only with the original WOLF-Garten charger (part no. 7266 077)!

1. Fix the charging plug inside the locking mechanism of the storage box (1).
2. Connect the charger to the mains socket (230V) (2).
3. Place the battery-powered shears inside the storage box (3).

Charging outside of the storage box C

1. Connect the charger to the mains socket (230V) (1).

2. Insert the charging plug into the charging socket of the battery-powered shears (2).

Instructions for the handling of the charger B C :

The red LED indicates charge process. When the LED goes out, the lithium-ion battery is charged.

General instructions regarding the battery:

To prolong the service life of the battery, observe the following instructions:

• Low battery voltage will reduce the stroke rate of the shears. In such a case, recharge the battery.

Always recharge the lithium-ion battery prior to any prolonged period of non-use, i.e. before storing the shears away in winter.
For charging times, see page 10.
The lithium-ion rechargeable battery can be charged at any charge level and charging can be interrupted at any time without damaging the battery (no memory effect).
Self-discharge of the battery! Disconnect the plug from the charger of the battery-powered shears as soon as the charger is disconnected from the mains.

Always attach the blade guard for transport and storage.
Always recharge the lithium-ion battery prior to any prolonged period of non-use, i.e. before storing the shears away in winter.

Do not touch the moving blade.

Cleaning

Clean the battery-powered shears after every use with a dry cloth. If necessary, use a brush to remove persistent dirt.
Clean and lubricate the gearbox at the end of the gardening season (see "Cleaning or replacing the blade").
- Never clean the battery-powered shears with a water jet.

Cleaning or replacing the blade

Blunt blades should not be resharpened but replaced.

1. Lift the locking mechanism E (1) and pull the sliding shoe away to the back (2).
2. Remove the blade from the battery-powered shears.
3. Grease the plastic ring of the blade F using petroleum jelly.
4. Clean the visible part of the gearbox and lubricate it with grease if necessary.
5. Fix the blades in place on the gearbox cover G
6. Slide the sliding shoe over the battery-powered shears until the locking mechanism engages H (blade will automatically snap into the gearbox).
