CAUTION

• Important: In order to guarantee additional protection, it is recommended that a differential breaker with an intervention current not greater than 30mA is installed in the electrical system which feeds the device. For further information, contact a qualified electrician.
• Make sure the unit is perfectly dry before using it.

• WARNING: Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water.

• This appliance can be used by children from 8 years of age and over, and by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities or who lack the relevant experience and knowledge, if they are suitably supervised or have been educated to use the appliance safely and made aware of the associated risks.

• Do not allow children to play with the appliance.
  Children must not perform cleaning and maintenance procedures unless supervised.

• When using the appliance make sure the air intake and exhaust grilles are never obstructed. This unit is fitted with a device to guard against overheating that switches it off immediately when the temperature gets too high. Should this happen, move the switch to the 0 position and leave it to cool for 5 minutes.

• Always allow the unit to cool before putting it away and never wrap the cord around the unit.

• Check that the cord has not been damaged from time to time.
• Do not use your unit if it is not working properly, if it has fallen or if the cord is damaged.

This hairdryer conforms to the safety regulations regarding electrical appliances.

This hairdryer has a safety cut-out which will operate in case of overheating. The dryer will re-set itself after being left to cool for a few minutes, but please check air inlet and outlet grills are clear before continuing to use the dryer.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Switch position

0 = 0ff

1 = hot air / low air flow

2 = very hot air/strong air flow

= lukewarm air

- Changing Voltage

Before use select the voltage to be used - 115V or 230V - depending on your power supply voltage. To turn the voltage selector on the unit's handle, use a small screwdriver or some similar object.

- Accessories

1 Retractable combs thermal brush for tangle free waves & curls, 0 30 mm

1 Thermal bristles with massaging bristles for volume & shine, 0 25 mm

Applying/changing accessories

Fit the accessory on the unit so that the reference marks correspond and then turn the ring nut on the unit anticlockwise until the symbols are aligned with one another ( ) . To remove or change an accessory, turn the ring nut clockwise back to the start position , then the accessory can be removed easily.

OPERATING TIPS:

1. Before using this unit, wash your hair and towel dry.
2. Plug the unit into the power supply socket.
3. Dry your hair using this unit without any accessories, before adding shape using the brushes.
4. Hair that has just been washed and dried can be styled better.
5. The first few times you use this unit it is advisable to practice on small areas of your hair.

USING THE VARIOUS ACCESSORIES

- Retractable combs thermal brush for tangle free waves & curls, 030mm

This is designed to create curls and waves quickly. In addition, the metal coating means that the hair style stays in place. To style your hair using this accessory - With the unit off make the bristles stick out of the metal casing by turning the ring nut at the top of it clockwise until it stops turning. Then wind a lock of hair around the brush, starting from the ends and working towards the roots. Switch the unit on and briefly heat your hair, putting the switch in position 1 or 2. For better hold, let the locks cool in position for a few seconds. To release your hair the lock need not be unrolled, simply turn the ring nut at the end of the brush anticlockwise to retract the bristles into the metal casing. Then pull the brush out of the curl.

- Thermal bristles with massaging bristles for volume & shine, 0.25 ~mm

It is particularly recommended for brushing hair, leaving it shiny and volumised. Plus, as you are brushing, the rounded bristle tips also massage the scalp.

Important: This accessory is not designed to create curls, as hair could become tangled up in the bristles when each section is unrolled.

TOURMALINE TECHNOLOGY

Tourmaline is a mineral with unique electric properties.

VALERA hairdryers with "Tourmaline Ionic Technology" have got internal tourmaline-coated

surfaces. When exposed to high temperatures, they are electrostatically charged and produce ions in a natural way.

What are ions?

Ions are electrically charged particles found in nature. Negatively charged ions help to purify the air by neutralising the positively charged ions that, by contrast, reduce its quality by retaining in the atmosphere many polluting agents.

An abundance of negatively charged ions can be found after a thunder storm or at the seaside or in the mountains, close to waterfalls and waterways where the feeling of well-being is due to the increased presence of pure, natural, revitalising air.

Improved hydration of hair

Negatively charged ions help to maintain the proper hydration of your hair.

In particular, they micronize the water particles present on newly-washed hair, enabling the stem to absorb more in order to restore the natural balance of your hair's humidity.

Conditioning effect on the hair

Improved hydration assists with the conditioning of your hair, has a regenerating effect and makes it softer and easier to comb, with greater volume and shine.

No electrostatic charge or "fly away"

Negatively charged ions help to reduce static electricity, the "fly away" effect and unwanted frizzles.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Always remove the plug from the power socket before beginning to clean the unit!

This unit can be cleaned using a damp cloth, but it must never be immersed in water or any other liquid!

Protect your unit from dust. If necessary, clean the air intake and exhaust grilles gently with a brush.

Remove and clean the accessories used.

VALERA guarantees the appliance you have bought at following conditions:

1. The guarantee conditions for this appliance are as defined by our dealer in the country of sale. In Switzerland and in the countries subject to the European directive 44/99/CE the guarantee period is 24 months for domestic use and 12 months for professional or similar use. The guarantee period starts from the date of purchase as stated on the present guarantee card regularly filled out and stamped by the dealer or on the sale's invoice.

2. The guarantee is applicable only against submission of the present guarantee card or the sale's invoice.

3. The guarantee covers the elimination of all defects arisen during the guarantee period resulting from proven faults in material or workmanship. The elimination of the defects will be made either by repairing the appliance or exchanging it. The guarantee does not cover any damage arising from incorrect connection to the power supply, improper use, breakage, normal wear and non-compliance with the instructions for Use.

4. All other claims of any nature, including those for eventual damages outside of the appliance, are excluded, unless our liability is legally mandatory.

5. The guarantee service is carried out free of charge; it does not affect the expiry date of the guarantee.

6. The guarantee becomes void if repairs are under-taken by unauthorized persons.
