VERITAS BI36 BL Control panel
Bottle ageing compartment
The wine cellar fridge consists of an ageing compartment whose main function is to ensure optimal storage conditions for wines.
Its temperature was set in the factory at a level considered optimal for most cases and corresponding to 15° in the upper compartment of the VERITAS BI36 BL and 15° in the VERITAS BI24 BL.
Wine has a complex nature and is the result of a slow and long process. In order to best express its attributes, very specific conditions are required.
All wines are preserved at the same temperature, while serving and tasting temperatures vary depending on the wine.
Therefore, just as for producers' natural cellars, for your new appliance the absolute temperature value is not as important as its constancy over time: wine can be successfully stored at any temperature, as long as it doesn't vary too much.
Manual temperature control
Should you need to adjust the temperature, please follow the instructions below:
- When plugging in your wine cellar, the display shows the set temperature inside the compartment.
- Press the + button (see Control Panel) for about one second; the temperature indicator will start flashing.
- Press the + or - buttons until you reach the desired temperature.
- Wait 5 seconds for the indicator to stop flashing; the temperature has been set.
- Wait until the wine cellar reaches the set temperature before you place the wine bottles inside.
The light inside the cellar does not go on (or switches off temporarily) when the internal temperature exceeds 24°C, in order to allow the set temperature to be reached more quickly.
This device is to be used exclusively for wine storage.
Operation with dual-zone (VERITAS BI36 BL only) or single temperature (VERITAS BI24 BL) cellar
The wine cellar is designed for operation with two temperature zones or, alternatively, depending on the customer's requirements, with a single temperature zone.
For dual-temperature operation, you should place the black bottle-rack on the rails of the fourth shelf (starting with the first one at the top), and then set the desired temperature in the upper zone, bearing in mind that the temperature of the lower compartment, once the desired temperature has been reached, will be higher than the set temperature by about 4-6 degrees Celsius, depending on the room temperature. The temperature of the bottom zone cannot be set separately.
Note: For proper wine storage, we recommend setting the temperature of the compartment thermostat above 7°C.
For single-zone operation, you need to remove the black bottle rack and replace it with the accessory rack (of the same type as the other wood-coloured ones already installed).
We recommend that you keep the unused racks in a dry and cool place to prevent them from being damaged by moisture or other atmospheric agents and thus making them unsuitable for use in the future.
Temperature control (only for VERITAS BI36 BL)
Upper zone:
The temperature of the upper zone can be seen at any time on the control display.
Bottom zone:
To display the temperature of the bottom zone, simply press the

button for one second and the temperature of the bottom zone will be displayed for three seconds.
Should you have a single-zone set up, it will be sufficient to look at the temperature indicated on the control display, without pressing any buttons.
See picture: Control panel.
Tips and advice
Normal noises during operation
The following noises are normal during operation:
- A slight gurgling in the coils when the coolant is pumped in.
- A buzzing and pulsating noise from the compressor when the coolant is pumped.
- A sudden cracking noise from inside the device caused by thermal expansion (a natural, non-hazardous physical phenomenon).
- A slight click from the temperature controller when the compressor switches on or off.
Energy-saving tips
- Avoid opening the door frequently or leaving it open more than necessary.
Pulling out wooden shelves VERITAS BI24 BL:
The wooden shelves are sliding, do not take them out when the bottles are stacked to prevent the possibility of breaking them.
Remove the shelves only when they need cleaning and there are no bottles on them.
Pulling out wooden shelves VERITAS BI36 BL:
To remove the wooden shelves, proceed as follows: take the shelves out slowly by pulling them towards you as far as they go. Remove or store the bottles away and push the shelf back in until it stops at the end.
! Under no circumstances should more than one sliding shelf be removed at a time.
Standard 24-bottles stock
If you want to arrange the bottles for wine storage in such a way that they are visible and easy to remove, we recommend the 24-bottles stock (suitable for bordeaux, mixed bordeaux, and renana size bottles).

STANDARD
24 Bottles (100% lying)
3 racks used
Place a maximum of 6 bottles in the niches on each of the 3 wooden shelves; an additional 6 bottles can be placed in the slots at the base of the wine cellar for a total of 24 bottles.
We suggest placing the larger bottles (Renana) on the bottom shelves (3 and 4); these are designed to accommodate larger bottles.

A wooden shelf can safely hold a maximum of 22 bottles.
Champagne bottle stock
Due to their larger size compared to classic bottles, Champagne bottles should be placed on the base of the cellar, which can hold up to 5 of them.

Champagne bottle stock
Due to their larger size compared to classic bottles, Champagne bottles should be placed on the base of the cellar, which can hold up to 5 of them.
If you want to stock more than 5 Champagne bottles, you should remove the 5th shelf and stock a second row of bottles by placing them on top of those at the base

of the cellar, making sure the bottles of the two rows face opposite directions. It is thus possible to store up to 9 Champagne bottles.

- After washing, rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth;
- Do not use: specific products for glass and mirrors; liquid detergents; powder or spray; solvents; alcohol; ammonia or abrasive products;
- If not in use, it is advisable to dry the interior thoroughly and leave the door half open to allow the interior to air out.
- Before maintenance, turn off the appliance and unplug it from the outlet.
- This appliance contains hydrocarbons in the refrigeration unit. Only qualified personnel may perform maintenance and recharge the unit.
- Regularly check the appliance's drainage and clean it if necessary. If the drain is clogged, melted water will accumulate at the bottom of the appliance.
- The interior of the wine cellar must be cleaned regularly to avoid the formation of odors.
- Regularly check the door gasket for dirt.
- Turn off the appliance before cleaning, remove all food, shelves, drawers, etc.
- Clean the interior surfaces with a solution of warm water and baking soda. The solution should consist of 2 tablespoons of baking soda and a quarter liter of water.
- Rinse and dry completely.
