3. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Before using this appliance for the first time, read the following instructions carefully and keep them for future reference. Make sure that the mains voltage in your home corresponds to that indicated on the appliance. In the event of incompatibility between the mains socket and the appliance plug, replace the socket with a suitable one, using a qualified professional. The electrical safety of the appliance is only guaranteed if it is connected to an efficient earth installation, as foreseen in applicable electrical safety regulations. If in doubt, contact a qualified professional. The use of adaptors, multiple sockets and or extension cables is not recommended. Where it is not possible to avoid their use, only adaptors or

extensions that comply with applicable safety regulations should be used, and ensuring that the indicated voltage limit is not exceeded. After removing the packaging, check that the appliance is in perfect condition, if in doubt, contact the nearest Technical Support Service. Packaging elements (plastic bags, polystyrene foam, etc.), should not be left within the reach of children because they can be dangerous. The appliance is for domestic use only. Any other use is considered unsuitable or dangerous. The manufacturer shall not be responsible for any damages that may arise from improper or inadequate use, or for repairs conducted by nonqualified personnel. Do not touch the appliance with wet or damp hands or feet. Keep the appliance separate from water or other liquids, to avoid electric shock; do not connect the appliance to the mains if it is on a damp surface. Place the appliance on a dry, firm and stable surface. Do not allow children or the disabled to handle the appliance unsupervised. This appliance should not be used by physically, sensorially or mentally handicapped people or people without experience or knowledge of it (including children), unless they are supervised or instructed in the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be watched to ensure they do not play with the appliance. For greater protection, we recommend installing a residual current device (RCD) with an operational residual current not exceeding 30 mA. Ask your installer for advice. Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is turned on because it can be dangerous. When removing the plug never pull on the cable. Unplug the appliance before cleaning or maintenance. In the event of fault or malfunction

Make sure that the on/off switches of the vacuum cleaner and the hand-held vacuum are in the off position before charging. It is advisable to change the dust container filter every three to six months, depending on use, to ensure maximum performance of the appliance. Never use the vacuum cleaner without the container filter. After cleaning the container filter, make sure that it is completely dry before reinstalling it in the vacuum cleaner. Do not put the filter in the washing machine or dry it with a hairdryer. The filter must only be left to dry naturally. Do not use the appliance if the vacuum pipes are obstructed in any way, as the motor may overheat.

4. N.B.

  • This cordless vacuum cleaner is fitted with uncharged batteries. The batteries need to be charged 12 hours prior to using the appliance for the first time.
  • The appliance is protected against overcharging. When the battery is fully charged, the indicator light (6) will turn green and the circuit will be automatically cut off, stopping the battery from charging.
  • The appliance has excessive discharge protection. When the voltage of the battery falls below a certain level, the appliance will stop automatically in order to protect the battery. It must be recharged in order to use it again.
  • When the motor is blocked by something, the appliance will stop for 3 seconds to prevent it from catching fire or short-circuiting due to the high voltage of the electrical current. In this case, take the appliance to the nearest service centre for it to be repaired.

5. BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

1. This cordless vacuum cleaner is

powered by rechargeable batteries. Before using the vacuum cleaner, charge it for at least 12 hours: - Make sure that the on/off switches of the vacuum cleaner (10) and the hand-held vacuum (7) are in the off position before charging. - Position the vacuum cleaner near a power socket and plug in the charger. - Connect the charger to the charger pin (4) (fig. B). The red indicator light (6) will come on to show that the vacuum cleaner is connected properly to the charger and that it is charging. - Leave the vacuum cleaner to charge for at least 12 hours. When the battery is full, the indicator light (6) will turn green and the battery will stop charging.

2. The vacuum cleaner has a maximum

running time of approximately 20 minutes, only if it has been fully charged. To fully charge the appliance, use the vacuum cleaner until it has lost all power and recharge the battery for at least 12 hours.

2. ADVICE: Store the vacuum cleaner with

the charger connected when not in use so that it is always charged and ready for use.

7. ACCESSORIES

FLEXIBLE EXTENSION HOSE: Extract the flexible extension hose (12) from the back of the vacuum cleaner and insert the small nozzle of the hose into the nozzle of the hand-held vacuum as shown in figure E. With the extension hose connected to the vacuum cleaner, it will have more vacuuming flexibility. CREVICE ACCESSORY: The crevice accessory (14) can be used with the flexible extension hose (12) or directly connected to the hand-held vacuum (5). If you wish to use the accessory with the flexible extension hose, follow the steps described in the “Flexible extension hose” section and connect the crevice accessory (14) into the large nozzle of the extension hose as shown in figure F. However, if you wish to connect the crevice accessory (14) directly to the hand-held vacuum (5), insert the accessory into the nozzle of the hand-held vacuum as shown in figure G.

6. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

VACUUM CLEANER: This vacuum cleaner has a telescopic handle (1) which can be extended by pressing the handle release button (2) and pulling it up until it clicks into place (fig. C). To return it to the collapsed position, press the handle release button (2) again and move the handle downwards until it clicks into place. The vacuum cleaner will not operate if the hand-held vacuum is not properly positioned in its receptacle. To start the vacuum cleaner, press the on/off button of the vacuum cleaner (10) or move the on/off switch of the hand-held vacuum (7) to the ON position. To stop the vacuum cleaner, press the on/off button (10) again or move the on/off switch of the hand-held vacuum (7) to the OFF position.

8. CLEANING THE DUST

CONTAINER FILTER Empty the dust container and clean the filter after every use in order to achieve the maximum performance of the appliance. HAND-HELD VACUUM: To extract the hand-held vacuum (5) from the appliance, press the hand-held vacuum release button

To put the hand-held vacuum (5) back into the appliance, firstly place the lower part into the receptacle on the appliance and then push the hand-held vacuum towards the appliance until it clicks into place in the receptacle.

CAREFUL: The suction hole must be open and unobstructed at all times; otherwise, the motor may overheat and become damaged.
