ATELY Please follow carefully these instructions on how to assemble and fit the product. The product must not be used by anybody who has not read these instructions. Keep this instruction booklet for future use. Each country has different safety laws and regulations for the transportation of chil- dren in cars. For this reason, it is recom- mended that you should contact your local authority for further information. WARNING! According to car accident sta- tistics, the rear seats of à car are generally safer than the front seat: it is therefore recommended to fit the child car seat into the rear seats of the car. In particular, the central rear seat is the safest, if it is fitted with à 3-point safety hamness: in this event, it is recommended to fit the child car seat into the central rear seat of the car. WARNING! DANGER! Never fit this child car seat into à front seat equipped with frontal airbag, Fit the child car seat into the front seat only if the frontal airbag has been deactivated: check with the car man- ufacturer, or in the car instructions manual, whether the airbag can be deactivated I the child car seat is fitted in the front seat of the car (only if the frontal airba is no present or has been deactivated}, it is recommended to push the seat back as much as possible, bearing in mind the comfort of the passenger sitting in the seat directly behind it. + Never use this child car seat on side-fac

or rear-facing car seats. Fit the child car seat only in front-facing seats that are correctly secured in the car. Never leave folding or rotating car seats unsecured, they may be a source of danger in the event of an accident. Pay attention when fitting the child car seat into the car to avoid that a mobile car seat or car door may interfere with it. Never fit the child car seat into a car seat if it is only equipped with a (2-points) lap belt. No child car seat can guarantee the total safety of your child in the event of an ac- cident, but the use of this product reduces the risk of serious injuries or death The risk of serious injuries to the child in- creases, not only in the case of accidents, but also in other circumstances (ie. sud- den braking, etc.) if these instructions are not followed carefully: always check that the child car seat is secured correct to the cars seat. If the child car seat is damaged, deformed or worn out, it must be replaced: it may no longer comply with the original safety standards This product must not be modified in any way, unless the modification is approved by the manufacturer. Do not install accessories, spare parts or components not supplied or approved by the manufacturer. Never leave your child unattended in the child car seat for any reason. To avoid the risk that the child may fall, secure the child to the child car seat also when carrying the child car seat by hand. When it is not used in the car, it is danger- ous to place the child car seat onto raised surfaces. Never leave the child car seat unsecured in the car seat, it may hurt or injure the pas- sengers. Do not insert anything between the car seat and the child car seat, or between the child car seat and the child, unless it is an accessory approved by the manufacturer: in case of accident the child car seat may not operate correctiy. In case the car is left under direct sunlight, it is recommended to cover the child car seat. An accident, even a minor incident, may cause damages to the child car seat, which are not visible to the naked eye: it is there-

fore necessary to replace the child car seat. Before carrying the child car seat by hand, ensure that the child is fastened with the safety haress, and that the handle is cor- rectly locked in a vertical position The KeyFit child car seat can be fitted into the Chicco strollers equipped with the standard hooks. Always check the type of hooks the stroller is equipped with in the instructions book- let, and whether they fit the child car seat. Before carrying the child in the child car seat fitted to the stroller, ensure the child car seat is secured to the stroller. Do not use second-hand child car seats: they may have suffered structural damages not visible to the naked eye, which could compromise the safety of the product. The fabric cover can be replaced only wi another fabric cover approved by the man- ufacturer, because it is an integral part of the child car seat. The child car seat must never be used without the fabric cover. Check that the safety hamness strap is not twisted to avoid that the strap or any parts of the child car seat remain trapped be- tween the car doors, or rub against cuttin edges. the safety harness is cut or frayed, it must be replaced. Do not transport loose or unsecured ob- jects or baggage on the back shelf of the vehicle: in the event of an accident or sud- en braking, they may injure the passen- ers. nsure that all the car passengers fasten their seat belt, for their own safety and be- cause, during the journey, they may injure the child in the event of an accident or sud- den braking of the car. On long journeys, it is recommended to make frequent stops: children tire very eas- ily. Do not remove the child from the child car seat while travelling, If the child needs attention, it is necessary to stop the car in a safe place. Premature babies, born after less than 37 weeks of pregnancy, may be at risk in the child car seat. These newborn babies may have breathing difficulties when seated in the child car séat. We recommend to con- sult your doctor, or the hospital staff, to. have a medical opinion on your child, and whether it can be carried in the child car seat when leaving the hospital.

PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS The child car seat is approved for “Group 04", which includes children from birth up to 13 kg of weight. USE RESTRICTIONS CAUTION! Please read the following instruc- tions carefully when using the product with the car seat. Failure to comply with these introduetions may alfect the safety of your child.

1. The child car seat is intended for children

weighing up to 13 K Never fit this child car seat into a front seat equipped with frontal airbag. Fit the child car seat into the front seat only if the fron- tal airbag has been deactivated: check with the car manufacturer, or in the car instruc- tions manual, whether the airbag can be deactivated. Never use the mini insert if the child weighs more than 6 Kg,

MENTS The child car seat may be fitted to the front passenger seat or any rear seat, but with the following restrictions. The child car seat must: = be fitted in a front-facing position (diag.1) -_ be fitted with à 3-point static or 3-point retractor safety belt (diag.2A).

CAUTION! Never fit the child car seat into a car seat only equipped with a lap belt (diag. 28).

WARNING! The safety hamess must always be adjusted to the size of the child's body. Before fitting the child car seat into the car, it is necessary to adjust the height of the child's safety hamness. The correct position of safety hamness is slight- 1 below the child's shoulders (diag, 3). The height of the child car seat can be adjusted to 3 positions (diag. 4) The child car seat has a mini insert which ensures maximum protection and_ comfort to children from birth up to 6 Kg of weight (diag. 5). Before fitting the mini insert, check that the belts are inserted into the hole located in the lowest position: this is the only position al- lowed for using this accessory. WARNING! For your child's safety: Do not use the mini insert if the child weighs more than 6 Kg. + How to fit the child car seat to the stroller HOW TO ADJUST THE HEIGHT OF THE SAFETY HARNESS Unfasten the safety harness, pressing the red button located on the buckle (diag. 6). Remove the two ends of the safety hamness from the anchor-shaped hook, as shown in dieg. 7. Remove the two parts of the safety har- ness from the front of the child car seat, and insert them into the hole which is most suitable to the child's height (diag. 8). Re-insert the two ends of the safety har- ness into the anchor-shaped hook (diag, 9)

Storing the Product When is not fitted into the car, it is recom- mended to store the child car seat in à dry place, away from sources of heat and to pro- ect it from dust, humidity and direct sunlight. HOW TO FIT THE CHILD CAR SEAT INTO THE CAR Put the child car seat's handle in a vertical position, pressing the two side adjustment buttons (diaÿ Place the child car seat onto the car seat jéhere you wish Lo fit (digg 71) Pull the car safety belt and lock it into the appropriate bucde sing the lp bel into the two side guides of the child car seat (diag. 1 Hold the disgonal bel and pul une the lap belt is tensioned correctiy (diag, 13). At the end of these operations, check that the lp belt is still locked correctly into the ap- propriate guides. While keeping the diagonal belt tensioned, slide it into the guide, located on the rear of the backseat (diag. 14), Tension the belt as much as possible, checking that it is not slack or twisted WARNING! After fitting the child car seat, al- ways check that car safety belt is tensioned correctlÿ, and that it is safely locked into its buckle. Also check that the buckle of the car safety belt does not come into contact with the points where the safety belt fastens the child car seat: it could make the child car seat unsafe in the event of an accident (diag. 15A, diag. 15 CAÜTION! For your child's safety: Do not fas- ten the child car seat with the car safety belt in any other ways than as indicated in this in- structions booklet!

10. Press the orange button located at the

front ofthe child car seat and, while press- ing the button, pull completely the two belts of the child car seat (diag. 16).

11. Unfasten the buckle of the safety belts

12. Place the child into the child car seat and

fasten the hamess (diag. 18). The shape of the straps does not allow to insert à Single strap. 13, Tension the safety hamess, pulling the ap- propriate adjustment belt (diag, 19), and make sure that it fits correctiy the child

3. Hold the safety belt and ease it into the

retractor. How to Fit the Child Car Seat into the Car without the Child When it is not used in the car, the child car seat can also be used as à bouncing or baby chair. To use it in the rocking position, place the handle in the “8” position. To use it as à baby chair, place the handle in the “C" position. Important! Please keep these instructions for future reference.

The Reclined Cradle does not replace a cot or a bed. Should your child need to sleep, then it should be placed in a suitable cot or bed Do not use the reclined cradle if any compo- nents are broken or missing Do not use accessories or replacement parts other than those approved by the manufac- turer. Wash by hand in cold water, Do not bleach: Do not tumble dry; Do not iron; Do not dry clean. Age: From birth to approximately 6 months (up to kg) Only place the reclined cradle on flat, stable surfaces. WARNING! HOW TO REMOVE THE FABRIC COVER

To clean the fabric cover of the child car seat, unfasten the hamess and remove the fabric. cover. To fit / remove the sun canopy, press the two locking / unlocking buttons, located on the side, as shown in diag, 23. HOW TO FIT THE CHILD CAR SEAT TO THE STROLLER The KeyFit child car seat can be fitted to Chic- co strollers equipped with the standard hooks (diag. 24) Always check the type of hooks the stroller is equipped with in the instructions booklet, and whether they fit the child car seat.

as shown in diag, 28. WARNING! To use the child car seat fitted to the stroller, the bumper bar of the stroller must not be removed.

18. Place the handle of the child car seat in a

vertical position, and fit the child car seat onto the stroller, making sure that it is locked on both sides (à click will be heard, indicating that the child car seat is locked correctiy on both sides) (diag. 29).

19. To release the child care seat from the

stroller, it is sufficient to press the rear orange button, as shown in diag, 30, and to lift the child car seat holding it by the handle WARNING! The child car seat can be fitted to the stroller also with the child sitting in the seat, although the child's weight could make ‘he operations more difficult.
