3.2. Preparation for operation
3.2.1. Setting the volume
The volume of the pipette is shown in the handle window. The volume to be taken is set by turning the volume adjustment knob to the right or left (Fig. 1).
When setting the volume, make sure that:
- The digit indicating the desired intake volume "snapped" into place.
- The numbers are fully visible in the display window.
• The selected collection volume is within the range of the pipette.
Caution: using excessive force to turn the button out of range can cause the mechanism to jam and damage the pipette.

natural_image
Hand holding a white pipette against a plain background (no text or symbols visible)
natural_image
Hand holding a white pipette against a plain background (no text or symbols visible)For the best possible accuracy, press and release the button slowly all the time, especially when working with high-viscosity liquids. Never allow the button to spring back. Make sure the clean tip is pressed firmly against the pipette tip cone, and there are no foreign particles in the tip itself.
Hold the pipette vertically during the retrieval. Ensure that the liquid and container are clean and that the pipette, tips, and liquid are at the same temperature.
The pipette tip should be changed after each volume change and after changing the liquid to be measured.
- The tip should be changed if droplets of liquid remain on the tip after the previous measuring.
- Rinse each new tip by taking the fluid to be measured.
- Do not allow liquid to enter the pipette shaft. To prevent this, slowly and smoothly press and release the pipetting button. Never hold the pipette with the tip turned upward. Never put the pipette down when there is liquid in the tip.
Liquid collection (standard technique):
1) Press the operating (pipetting) button until the first stop (Fig. 4).
2) Holding the pipette vertically, dip the tip under the surface of the liquid to a depth of about 2-3 mm and slowly release the operating button (Fig. 3). Wait one second and pull the tip out of the liquid.
Dispensing liquids (standard technique):
1) Holding the pipette tilted from vertical at an angle of 10 to 40 degrees, apply the tip to the wall of the vessel. Press the operating (pipetting) button smoothly to the first stop (Fig. 4).
2) After a delay of about one second, continue pressing the operating (pipetting) button until the second stop (Fig. 5). This action will empty the pipette tip.
3) While holding down the operating (pipetting) button, remove the pipette from the vessel by sliding the tip along the inner wall of the vessel and then release the operating (pipetting) button to the ready position (Fig. 3). If necessary, replace the tip and continue pipetting.
Liquid collection (reverse technique):
The reverse technique is suitable for pipetting liquids with high viscosity or a tendency to foam. It is also recommended for dispensing small amounts of liquid.
1) Press the operating (pipetting) button to the second stop (Fig. 5).
2) Holding the pipette vertically, dip the tip under the surface of the liquid to a depth of about 2-3 mm and slowly release the operating button (Fig. 3). Wait one second and pull the tip out of the liquid.
Liquid dispensing (reverse technique):
1) Holding the pipette tilted from vertical at an angle of 10 to 40 degrees, apply the tip to the wall of the vessel. Press the operating (pipetting) button smoothly to the first stop (Fig. 4) to release the liquid from the tip. Hold the pipetting button in the first stop position. A certain amount of liquid will remain in the tip and should not be dispensed.
2) While holding down the operating (pipetting) button, remove the pipette from the vessel by sliding the tip along the inner wall of the vessel and then release the operating (pipetting) button to the ready position (Fig. 3). If necessary, replace the tip and continue pipetting.
3) Pour the remaining liquid back into the vessel from which it was taken or dispose of it along with the tip.
3.3.1. Calibration
Place the calibration tool in the holes of the calibration adjustment lock (under the operating (pipetting) button) - Fig. 6.
Turn the adjustment lock counterclockwise to decrease the volume of liquid taken or clockwise to increase the volume of liquid taken.
Repeat the performance test procedure until the pipetting results are correct.

natural_image

3.3.2. Performance test (calibration check)
Measurements should take place at 20-25°C, with a constant deviation of 0.5°C. Avoid drafts.
- Set the desired test volume of the pipette.
- Carefully place the tip on the tip mounting cone.
• Pre-wet the tip with distilled water, pipetting the selected volume 5 times. - Carefully extract the liquid, keeping the pipette in an upright position.
- Pipette distilled water into a tared container and read the mass in mg. Repeat at least five times and write down each result. Use an analytical balance with a reading accuracy of 0.01 mg. To calculate the volume, divide the mass of water by its density (at 20^ C: 0.9982 g/cm ^3 ).
EN
• Calculate the value of F using the following equation:
• F * | inaccuracy (μl) | +2 x inaccuracy (μl)
- Compare the calculated F value with the user's corresponding Fmax value. Otherwise, check both accuracy and precision and if necessary, proceed to the recalibration procedure.
3.4. Cleaning and maintenance
a) Use ethanol and a soft cloth to clean the pipette. Regular cleaning of the tip cone is recommended.
b) Use only non-corrosive cleaning agents for cleaning surfaces.
c) After each cleaning, all parts should be thoroughly dried before the device is reused.
d) Store the appliance in a dry and cool place protected from moisture and direct sunlight.
e) Perform regular inspections of the unit checking technical fitness and any damages.
f) Use a soft cloth for cleaning.
g) Do not use sharp and/or metal objects (e.g. wire brush or metal spatula) as they may damage the surface of the material from which the appliance is made.
h) Do not clean the unit with acidic substances, medical agents, thinners, fuel, oils, or other chemicals. It may cause damage to the device.

3.2. Priprema za rad
3.2.1. Postavljanje volumena
