Risk of eye injury due to laser beams! Never look directly into the laser and do not direct the laser beam towards reflecting surfaces.

The product is in accordance with the applicable safety standards in the European directives.

GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS

Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

• To operate this device safely, the user must have read and understood these instructions for use before using the device for the first time.
• Observe all safety instructions! Failure to do so may cause harm to you and others.
• Retain all instructions for use, and safety instructions for future reference.
• If you sell or pass the device on, you must also hand over these operating instructions.
• The device must only be used when it functions properly. If the product or part of the product is defective, it must be taken out of operation and disposed of correctly.
• Never use the device in a room where there is a danger of explosion or in the vicinity of flammable liquids or gases.
• Keep children away from the device! Keep the device out of the way of children and other unauthorised persons.

Using battery-operated devices

• Only use batteries approved by the manufacturer.

Machine specific safety instructions

• The device is intended for using in dry environment.
• Avoid the influence of humidity and dirt as well as direct sun rays.
• Do not operate the device in the proximity of welding machines, induction heaters and other electromagnetic fields.
• Do not expose the device to high temperatures for a longer period of time.
• Symbols appearing on your device may not be removed or covered. Signs on the device that are no longer legible must be replaced immediately.

Handling of laser beams

• Do not look directly into the beam, not even from great distances.
• Never direct the measuring beam towards people, other living creatures or reflecting surfaces.
• Conventional laser glasses do not protect against the dangers of laser beams. They only serve for improved recognition of the laser beam.

This laser distance meter can be used when requiring the measurement of an area of a room. This measuring tool is intended for measuring distances, lengths and heights in a straight line from 0.03m to 20m and can calculate areas and volumes.

* Under good measuring conditions (good measuring surface, room temperature), the measurement error can be up to 10 meters, and under bad measuring conditions (such as to strong or low ambient light, too large or too small diffuse reflection coefficient of the measured point, too large temperature difference, etc.) the measurement error can be up to ±0.25mm/m.
** In case of strong daylight or poor reflection of the target, please use auxiliary targets.

3. ASSEMBLY

Installing / Replacing batteries (Fig B)

1. Remove the battery compartment cover (7).
2. Insert batteries with correct polarity according to the battery cover indications.
3. Close the battery compartment cover (7).

4. OPERATION

WARNING! Danger of injury due to defective components! The product must only be put into operation of no defects are found. Ensure that any defective parts are replaced before the product is used again.

Its recommended to carry out an accuracy check before first use and periodic checks during future use, especially for precise layouts.

Electromagnetic radiation may interfere with local equipment or devices (e.g. medical devices such as pacemakers or hearing AIDS).

Check the device:

• Make sure all parts are fitted on the machine firmly.
- Check whether there are any visible defects: broken parts, cracks, etc.
- Also check the accuracy when the laser may have been dropped.

Operation

• Measurements of metallic or shiny surfaces provide inaccurate measuring values. As a repair, such surfaces can be covered with matt adhesive tape or faint black paint.
- The laser distance meter is not able to take measurements through transparent surfaces such as glass.

Switch on and off (Fig. A)

Press the measurement button (2) for half a second to switch on the equipment. The machine will always start in the default reference setting of single measurement mode. To switch off the machine hold down the Clear/off button (4) for 1 second.

Automatically switch off

The laser will be switched off automatically after 15 seconds and the device will be powered off after 45 seconds of inactivity.

Clear button (Fig. A)

Press clear button (4) to clear the last command or displayed data.

Unit conversion (Fig. A,C)

The instruments default unit is meters but can be set to meters 'm', feet 'ft' and inches 'in'. When the instruments is off, press and hold the ON button (2) for 5 seconds to enter the boot menu. Press and hold the ON button (2) to switch between, calibration, measurement unit, buzzer, background light. Short press the ON button (2) to adjust the reseptive setting. Press Clear/OFF (4) button to confirm and exit the setting mode.

Adjusting measuring reference (Fig. A,C)

When the device is switched on, press the function/measuring reference button (3) shortly to adjust the measure reference. It's possible to measure from the front or the rear of the device.

Distance is measured from the rear of the device (standard setting).

Distance is measured from the front of the device.

Memory (Fig. C)

The device can store up to 3+1 values on screen. To clear memory, press on clear button (4) shortly to erase most recent values.

Measuring

WARNING! Risk of injury due to laser beam! Never direct the measuring beam towards people, other living creatures or reflecting surfaces.

Target surfaces: Measuring errors can occur when measuring to colourless liquids, glass, Styrofoam or semi-permeable surfaces or when aiming at high gloss surfaces. Against dark surfaces the measuring time increases.

Single-mode measurement (Fig. A, C & D)

When the equipment is switched on, quickly press the measure button (3) to activate the laser (6). Aiming the laser onto the target and quickly press the measure button (3) again will trigger single-mode measurement; the result is displayed immediately (1).

Continuous-mode measurement (Fig. A, C & D)

When the equipment is switched on, press the measure button (2) will trigger continuous-mode measurement. The current measurement value is displayed on the LCD screen (1). Press the measure button (2) again for switching off the continuous mode.

Area measurement (Fig. A, C & E)

Press the function button (3) to change measurement function (8) to area measurement. Select the function and begin the measurement.

1. Pressing the measure button (2) will activate the laser.
2. Aiming the laser onto the target and quickly pressing the measure button (2) again for measuring the length. The result is displayed immediately (17).
3. Pressing the measure button (2) will activate the laser.
4. Aiming the laser onto the target and quickly pressing the measure button (2) again for measuring the width. The result is displayed immediately (17) and the result of the calculated area is displayed (18).

Volume measurement (Fig. A,C & F)

Press the function button (3) to change measurement function (8) to volume measurement. Select the function and begin the measurement.

1. Pressing the measure button (2) will activate the laser.
2. Aiming the laser onto the target and quickly pressing the measure button (2) again for measuring the length. The result is displayed immediately (17).
3. Pressing the measure button (2) will activate the laser.
4. Aiming the laser onto the target and quickly pressing the measure button (2) again for measuring the width. The result is displayed immediately (17).
5. Pressing the measure button (2) will activate the laser.
6. Aiming the laser onto the target and quickly pressing the measure button (2) again for measuring the height. The result is displayed immediately (17) and the result of the calculated volume is displayed (18).

Display Notices

The following errors can be corrected.

Indirect Pythagorean measurement (Fig. A,C & G)

The device has three ways to measure different sides of triangles using the Pythagorean theorem.

Mode 1 (Fig. G1)

1. After turning on (2), press the function button (3) three times. Icon (8) on the screen indicates the single Pythagoras mode. This mode is used to measure side h in a situation similar to the one in figure G1.
2. At this point, side a of the Pythagoras symbol will blink. Now perform the first measurement.
3. After the first measurement is completed, side b will start blinking at 8. Now perform the second measurement.
4. After both measurements are completed, the device will automatically calculate the length of side h and display it in the main measurement area at 18.
5. Press the clear button (4) to clear the results and perform another Pythagoras measurement. Press The return button 4 to exit the Pythagoras mode.

Mode 2 (Fig. G2)

1. After turning on (2), press the function button (3) four times. Icon 8 on the screen indicates the double Pythagoras mode. This mode is used to measure side h in a situation similar to the one in figure G2.
2. At this point, side a of the Pythagoras symbol will blink. Now perform the first measurement.
3. After the first measurement is completed, side b will start blinking at 8. Now perform the second measurement.
4. After the second measurement is completed, side c will start blinking at 8. Now perform the third measurement.
5. After all measurements are completed, the device will automatically calculate the length of side h and display it in

the main measurement area at 11.

1. Press button 1 to clear the results and perform another Pythagoras measurement. Press button 3 to exit the Pythagoras mode.

Mode 3 (Fig. G3)

1. After turning on (2), press the function button (3) five times. Icon 8 on the screen indicates the single inclined Pythagoras mode. This mode is used to measure side h in a situation similar to the one in figure G3.
2. At this point, side a of the Pythagoras symbol will blink. Now perform the first measurement.
3. After the first measurement is completed, side b will start blinking at 8. Now perform the second measurement.
4. After the second measurement is completed, side c will start blinking at 8. Now perform the third measurement.
5. After all measurements are completed, the device will automatically calculate the length of side h and display it in the main measurement area at 11.
6. Press button 3 to clear the results and perform another Pythagoras measurement. Press button 4 to exit the Pythagoras mode.

Please note: In the Pythagoras measurement mode, side b must always be smaller than side a, otherwise the device cannot perform a correct calculation and will display an error message. In the Pythagoras measurement mode, to ensure measurement accuracy, it is necessary to start all measurements from the same starting point and measure in the correct order as described above.

5. MAINTENANCE

Do not attempt to open or repair the instrument by yourself in any way. It is strictly prohibited to illegally modify or change the performance of the instrument

Cleaning

NOTICE! Risk of product damage! Never submerge device in water while cleaning.

Do not use cleaning agents or solvents. Wipe the device using a dry cloth.

Storage

NOTICE! Risk of product damage! Always handle measurement instruments with care.

• Store the product in a dry, well-ventilated place.
• Only store and transport the product in its original packaging.
• Prevent large temperature fluctuations: Always temper the product for a while before use in extremely cold or hot environments.

Taking out of operation for a longer period of time.

- When not in use for a longer period of time remove the batteries.

NOTICE! Risk of product damage! Old, leaky batteries can damage the product. Check the battery regularly.

ENVIROMENT

The crossed out wheelie bin symbol means that this product shall not be disposed of with normal household waste. Electronic and Electrical Equipment not included in the selective sorting process are potentially dangerous for the environment and human health due to the presence of hazardous substances. Please dispose of responsibly at an approved waste or recycling facility.

According to the Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment and its transposition into national law, measuring tools that are no longer usable, and, according to the Directive 2006/66/EC, defective or drained batteries must be collected separately and disposed of in an environmentally correct manner. If disposed incorrectly, waste electrical and electronic equipment may have harmful effects on the environment and human health, due to the potential presence of hazardous substances.

WARRANTY

VONROC products are developed to the highest quality standards and are guaranteed free of defects in both materials and workmanship for the period lawfully stipulated starting from the date of original purchase. Should the product develop any failure during this period due to defective material and/or workmanship then contact your VONROC dealer directly.

The following circumstances are excluded from this guarantee:

• Repairs and or alterations have been made or attempted to the machine by unauthorized service centers.
• Normal wear and tear.
• The tool has been abused, misused or improperly maintained.
• Non-original spare parts have been used

This constitutes the sole warranty made by company either expressed or implied. There are no other warranties expressed or implied which extend beyond the face hereof, herein, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. In no event shall VONROC be liable for any incidental or consequential damages. The dealers remedies shall be limited to repair or replacement of nonconforming units or parts.
