2.1 Correctuse
- This product is intended for the destruction of documents both in the home and in the commercial sector, provided the applications are comparable with typical household use (e.g. in offices, workshops and hotels, etc.).

2.2 Basicsafetyinstructions
Pleasenotethefollowingsafetyinstructionsinordertousethedevicesafely:
- Checkthe device before use for any visible external damage. Donotputadamaged device into operation.
• People who, as a result of their physical, mental motor capacities, are unable to operate the devices safely, must only use the device undersupervision or after instruction by a responsible person. - Faultycomponentsmustonlybereplacedwithoriginalspareparts. Onlythesepartsare guaranteedtomeettherequiredsafetystandards.
- Protect the device against moisture and the penetration of liquids or objects. In the event of contact with liquid, disconnect the device from the powers supply immediately.

Plasticcardsmustnotbeshreddedintheautomaticintake shaft.

Donotinsertpaperclipsintotheautomaticintakeshaft.
2.4 Safetydevice
The device is equipped with safety switch and can only be operated if the basket(7) is correctly inserted into the device.
Warning
Any tampering with or modified of the safety features can result in serious injury and is not permitted.

3. Installation/Setup
Warning
- Onlyoperatetheproductfromasocketthathasbeenapprovedforthedevice.The socketmustbeinstalledclosetotheproductandmustbeasilyaccessible.
- Disconnect the product from the powersupply using the On/Off switch—if this is not available, unplug the power cord from the socket.
- Ifusingamulti-socketpowerstrip, makesurethatthetotalpowerconsumptionof allconnecteddevicesdoesnotexceedthepowerstrip'smaximumthroughputrating.
- If you will not be using the product for a prolonged period, disconnect it from mainspower.

Note
- Set the product up on a level, horizontal and sufficiently stable surface.
- Routeallcablessothatthereisnoriskoftripping
- Donotbendorcrushthecable.
- Protect the connecting cable from hot surfaces and sharpedges.
Connectthemainscabletoaproperlyinstalledandeasilyaccessiblemainssocket.

4.Operation
Note
- Beaware that the thickness of paper increases when it is folded, leading to the device's maximum page capacity being exceeded.
• Always wait until one cutting operation is finished before starting the next one.
- Donotusethedevicecontinuouslyformorethan60minutesatatime.
• Emptythecontainerregularlyinorderavoiddamagingthedevice.

4.1 Switching the device on
- Movethemainswitch(10)tothe"|"position.
- Pressthe"ON/OFF"button(13).
• TheReadystatusLED(16)lightsupsolidgreen.
• The device is now ready for use.
4.2 Switching the device off
- Pressthe"ON/OFF" button(13).
•TheReadystatusLED(16)goesout. - Movethemainswitch(10)tothe"O"position.
Note
Iftoomuchpaperisfedinatthesametime, theshredderstopsautomaticallyandejects thepaperbackwards. TheOverloadstatusLED(15)lightsupandtheReadystatusLED (16)startsflashing. Thismayhavebeencausedbytoomuchpaperbeingstapled, paper thatistoothick, foldedornotstackedneatly. Removetheexcesspaperandreducethe numberofsheetsifnecessary.

4.3 Manualintakeshaft
Shreddingpaper
- Insertthepaperintothecentreoftheintakeshaft(1).Thecuttingrollersswitchon automatically.
- Letgoofthepaper. Oncethecuttingprocessiscomplete, thecuttingrollersswitch themselvesoffagain.
Shreddingplasticcards
Note
Thisshredderisprimarilydesignedforpaper. Excessiveshreddingofplasticcardscould reducethelifeofthemachine.

- Inserttheplasticcardintothecentreoftheintakeshaft(1). Thecuttingrollerswitch onautomatically.
- Letgooftheplasticcard. Oncethecuttingprocessiscomplete, thecuttingrollersswitch themselvesoffagain.
4.4 Automaticintakeshaft(only suitable for paper)
Warning
Plasticcardsmustnotbeshreddedintheautomaticintakeshaft.

Warning
Donotloadadditionalpaperintheautomaticintakeshaftiftheshreddingprocessis alreadyinprogress.

Warning
Donotloadfoldedpaperintheautomaticintakeshaftasthismaycauseapaperjam.

Note
Itisrecommendedto remove all staples from the paper before shredding it to prolong the life of them machine. If you want to shred paper with staples, first load then on stapled side of the paper in the automatic intake. This shredder cuts a maximum of 10 stapled sheets in the automatic intake.

- Arrangethepapertobeshreddedneatlyinapile. Openthecover(3).
- Press down the centre of the paper guide flap (6) and insert the stack of paper into the automaticintake(2).
• Makesureyoupushthepaperstackdownasfarasitwillgo.Letgoolthestackof paper.
• Thecuttingrollersswitchonautomatically. - Oncethecuttingprocessiscomplete, thecuttingrollerswitch themselvesoffagain.
• Closethecover(3)topreventdamagetoit.
4.5 Forwards/backwardsmodes
Note
These modes are designed to release any blockages of the cutting mechanism.

Manualintakeshaft
Ifapaperjamisdetectedinthemanualintakeshaft, theshredderstopsautomatically andejectsthepaperbackwards(1). Ifthepaperthendoesnotcomeloose, carryoutthe followingsteps.
- Press and hold the "REVERSE" button (11). The rollers of the cutting unit now rotate in theoppositedirectionanddischargethepaperbackwards.
- Removetheblockedcutmaterialcarefullyfromtheintakeshaft(1).
• TheReadystatusLED(16)flashes. - Ensure that the amount of paper does not exceed the maximum capacity.
- Oncethepaperjamiscleared, pressthe"FORWARD" button(12)tocontinuethe shreddingprocess.
Automaticintakeshaft
Ifapaperjamisdetectedintheautomaticintakeshaft, theshredderstopsautomatically andejectsthepaperbackwards(2). Ifthepaperthendoesnotcomeloose, carryoutthe followingsteps.
- Press and hold the "REVERSE" button (11). The rollers of the cutting unit now rotate in theoppositedirectionanddischargethepaperbackwards.
- Pressdownthecentreofthepaperguideflap(6)andcarefullyremovethejammed paperfromtheintakeshaft(2).
•TheReadystatusLED(16)flashes. - Stackthepaperneatlyontopofeachother. Makesuretheamountofpaperdoesnot exceedthemaximumcapacityandstapledpaperpagesareontop.
- Oncethepaperjamiscleared, pressthe"FORWARD"button(12)tocontinuethe shreddingprocess.
5. Care and maintenance
Danger-riskofdeathfromelectricshock
Disconnect themains plug from the socket before starting any cleaning work.

Warning-riskofcuttingonthecuttingrollers
Donottouchthecuttingrollers.

Warning-damagethe device from moisture
Ensure, whencleaning, that nomoisture penetrates the device in order to avoid irreparable damagetoit.

5.1 Emptyingthecontainer
Note
TheContainerstatusLED(14)lightsupsolidredandtneshredderstopswhenthe containerisfull.

- Switch the device off - as described in 4.2 Switching the device off - and disconnect themainsplug.
• Pullthebasket(7)out. - Emptythecontainer.
- Pushthebasket(7)backin.
- Reconnect the device - as described in 3. Installation/Setup - to the power supply.
5.2Cleaningthedevice
- Switch the device off - as described in 4.2 Switching the device off - and disconnect themainsplug.
- Cleanthe device with adrycloth. Incases of heavy soiling, the cloth can be dampened alittle.
- Allow the device to dry completely afterwards.
- Reconnect the device - as described in 3. Installation/Setup - to the power supply.
5.3 Cleaning/oiling the cutting rollers
Note
- Oilthecuttingrollersaftereachemptyingofthewastepaperbasketinorderto prolongtheshredder'sservicelife.

- Switchthedeviceon-asdescribedin4.1Switchingthedeviceon.
5.3.1 CleaningwithHamacleanersforshredders(itemnumber:113820)
- ApplytheHamacleanerforshredders(itemnumber:113820)inseveralstripsontoa pieceofDINA4-sizepaper.
- Insert the paper into the centre of the intakeshaft(1). The cutting rollers switch on automatically.
- Oncethecuttingprocessiscomplete, the device is ready for operation again.
5.3.2 Cleaningwithcleaningpaper
- Insert the cleaning paper into the centre of the intakeshaft(1). The cutting rollers switch on automatically.
- Oncethecuttingprocessiscomplete, the device is ready for operation again.
