How to set up wireless network?

To set up the wireless network, on the control panel, select Network then Wireless. Check your router's SSID and network key, then select the corresponding network and enter the key. Ensure the computer and router are connected.

How to install print drivers?

Download drivers from Canon's website (https://global.canon/en/support/) or use the supplied CD-ROM. Launch the installation and follow the instructions. For a normal installation, choose Quick Install.

What to do in case of a paper jam?

Open the front cover and carefully remove the jammed paper. Also check the feed tray and output path. Refer to the FAQ section of the manual for more details.

How to set up fax?

The first time you select the Fax icon on the home screen, the setup guide starts. Enter the telephone number, unit name, then choose the reception mode (Auto, Answering Machine, Fax/Tel., Manual). Then connect the device to the telephone line.

How to print from a mobile device?

Use the Canon PRINT Business app or Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, etc. Make sure the printer and mobile device are connected to the same network. Select the document and choose the print option.

How to access the remote user interface?

Open a web browser on your computer and enter the printer's IP address. Enter the PIN code set during initial setup. The remote UI allows managing settings and the address book.

What to do if the printer does not turn on?

Check that the power cord is properly plugged in and the outlet works. If the problem persists, try unplugging the device for a minute and then plugging it back in. Contact support if necessary.

How to replace the toner?

Open the front cover, remove the old toner cartridge, then insert the new Canon 069 cartridge. Close the cover. The printer will automatically perform a calibration cycle.

How to clean the printer?

Turn off the device and unplug it. Use a soft dry cloth to clean the exterior. For the interior, open the covers and gently dust. Avoid chemicals.

1 Checking the Items Included

May not be included with some models

2 Removing the Packing Material

1. Install the machine in the location where it will be used.

2. Remove all packing material.

Remove all tapes.

Do not remove the sticker that covers the USB port until you actually use the USB port.

4 Installing the Optional Part

Before Installing the Optional Part

After the machine has been installed, perform the following before installing the optional part:

1. Turn OFF the machine and your computer.
2. Unplug the machine from the mains power outlet.
3. Disconnect all cords and cables from the machine.

Cassette Feeding Module

1. Install the cassette feeding module in the location where it will be used.

6 Specifying the Basic Settings

When you turn on the machine for the first time, the Setup Guide appears on the operation panel. Perform the initial machine setup by following the on-screen instructions.

Operation panel

1. Select the language, the country or region, and then the time zone.
2. Set the current date/time.

7 Specifying the Security Settings

To prevent unauthorized access to the machine, set access restrictions for Remote UI.

What is Remote UI?

Remote UI allows you to use your computer's Web browser to check the machine's operating status, change settings, and save items to the Address Book.

1. To use the Remote UI, select .

To continue without using the Remote UI, select and proceed to step 8.

2. To use General User mode, select .

• Set the PIN to be used by general users to access the Remote UI.
• To continue without using General User mode, select and proceed to step 8.

3. Set the Remote UI Access PIN.

• Enter any number and then select .
• Re-enter the same PIN on the next screen as confirmation and select .
  * Do not forget your PIN.

8 Specifying the Network Settings

Specify the settings for connecting the machine to a network. Before proceeding, check that the computer and router are correctly connected to the network.

- You cannot use a wired LAN and a wireless LAN at the same time.

Wireless LAN

1. Check the router's "SSID" and "Network key."

2. Select the network with a matching SSID.

Wired LAN

Connect the router to the machine with a LAN cable and then select in the screen for choosing how to connect to the network.

10 Installing the Software/Drivers

To use the print, fax, and scan functions of the machine, you must install the respective drivers.

Downloading from the Canon website

1. Search for "(model name) download."

1. Download the software and drivers, and install them on your computer.

To use the scan function, install the "MF Scan Utility" scanning application and the scan driver.

Installing from the Bundled CD/DVD-ROM

1. Load the CD/DVD-ROM into your computer, and install the software and drivers.

For normal installation, select "Easy Installation." Selecting "Easy Installation" installs the drivers along with the standard software and manuals.

On models with a fax function, configure the fax settings next.

11 Fax Setup

The first time you select in the Home screen, the Fax Setup Guide starts.
