Danger to life from carbon monoxide
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a poisonous gas, which arises during the incomplete combustion of fossil fuels such as oil, gas, or solid fuels.
Dangers arise if CO escapes from the heating system due to a fault or a leak and collects unnoticed in enclosed spaces.
You can neither see, taste nor smell CO.
The device may not prevent chronic effects of CO exposure. The product will not completely safeguard individuals at special risk.

Have the heating system inspected and serviced regularly by an approved contractor.

WARNING
Installation of the alarm should not be used as a substitute for proper installation, use and maintenance of fuel-burning appliances including appropriate ventilation and exhaust systems.
What to do in the presence of a carbon monoxide alarm
▶ Keep calm and open all doors and windows to increase the rate of ventilation
▶ Stop using all the fuel-burning appliances and ensure, if possible, that they are turned off. For example, for gas appliances, please isolate the emergency control valve.
If the alarm continues activated, leave the building and only re-enter when the alarm has stopped. In multi-occupancy and multi-story properties, alert all the occupants of the risk
▶ Get medical help for anyone with the effects of carbon monoxide poisoning and advice that carbon monoxide inhalation is suspected.
▶ Get in contact with the appropriate servicing and/or maintenance agency. When necessary, get in contact with the fuel supplier through their emergency number and with the national Gas Emergency Service Provider. This way, the source of carbon monoxide emissions can be identified and corrected.
▶ Do not use fuel-burning appliances again until it gets checked and cleared by a competent person according to national regulations.

WARNING
Danger to life!
In case you consider muting the device, be aware of the fact that the alarm has been activated because of dangerous levels of carbon monoxide, and being in the environment of the device is dangerous.
