Battery safety
This section describes the battery and battery charger safety for your battery product.
(1) to (23) refer to figure A-G on page 2 and 3.
Only use Husqvarna original batteries for Husqvarna products and only charge them in an original battery charger from Husqvarna. The batteries are software encrypted.
Battery
The rechargeable Husqvarna batteries, BLi, are exclusively used as a power supply for the relevant Husqvarna cordless appliances. To avoid injury, the battery must not be used as a power source for other devices.
The following represents a typical, but not exhaustive list of good advice to be provided by the equipment manufacture to the end-user.
- Do not dismantle, open or shred secondary cells or batteries.
- Do not expose cells or batteries to heat or fire. Avoid storage in direct sunlight.
- Do not short-circuit a cell or battery. Do not store batteries haphazardly in a box or drawer where they may short-circuit each other or be short-circuited by other metal objects.
- Do not remove a cell or battery from its original packaging until required for use.
- Do not subject cells or batteries to mechanical shock.
- In the event of cell leaking, do not allow the liquid to come in contact with the skin or eyes. If contact has been made, wash the affected area with copious amounts of water and seek medical advice.
- Do not use any charger other than that specifically provided for use with the equipment.
- Observe the plus (+) and minus (-) marks on the cell, battery and equipment and ensure correct use.
- Do not use any cell or battery which is not designed for use with the equipment.
- Keep cells or batteries out of the reach of children.
- Seek medical advice immediately if a cell or a battery has been swallowed.
Always purchase the correct cell or battery for the equipment. - Keep cells or battery clean and dry.
- Wipe the cell or battery terminals with a clean dry cloth if they become dirty.
- Secondary cells and batteries need to be charged before use. Always use the correct charger and refer to manufacturer's instruction or equipment manual for proper charging instructions.
- Do not leave a battery on prolonged charge when not in use.
- After extended periods of storage, it may be necessary to charge and discharge the cells or batteries several times to obtain maximum performance.
- Secondary cells or batteries give their best performance when they are operated at normal room temperature (20^ ± 5^) .
- Retain the original product literature for future reference.
- Use only the cell or battery in the application for which it was intended.
- When possible, remove the battery from the equipment when not in use.
- Dispose of properly.
-
Do not carry adapter or battery on the cable.
-
Keep cables and plugs clean and dry. Corrosion may cause a malfunction.
- Do not twist the battery equipment. This may cause a damage of the cable.
Harness (fig. C)

WARNING! Battery harness is not suitable for climbing. It is not an aborist harness.
- Adjust the straps on the harness. The shoulder strap attachment (18) can be connected in three positions.
- Connect the shoulder strap (17) in the desired position (18) according to size of the user. Turn the shoulder strap (17) to secure the shoulder strap.
- To change position, release the shoulder strap (17) by pressing the button (19) and turn the shoulder strap.
Connect battery to harness (fig. B)
- Open the buttons (16).
- Connect the battery to the hooks. (15)
- Push the buttons (16) to secure the battery.
- Make sure that the battery is fixed on the correct position.
Install branch protection. (fig. G)
- To avoid branches to stick in the handle, use branch protection (22) if needed.
Connect product (fig. E)
- Connect the battery adapter to the chosen product. When using the 536LiR, connect the trimmer plate (supplied with the trimmer) according to fig. F to the battery harness.
- Fasten the battery cable in the attachments on the harness.
Operation
- Backpack battery must be carried on the back while usage.
- Regular check that the battery charger and the battery are intact.
- After switching the backpack battery on, there is a startup time of about 4 seconds (software booting). During that time, you can hear the fans inside the backpack battery blowing and a green LED on the battery is blinking. When the LED is lit green on the battery, you can start to use the machine (only for usage with Hedgetrimmer 136LiHD50 or Trimmer 136LiC: Please press the ON button on the machine for at least 2 seconds to start working).
- Battery switches off automatically when not used for longer time (30 min approx). To restart, switch on power switch (10).
Battery display and adapter display
NOTE!
The adapter display will show the correct battery charge status but at the beginning minor deviations are possible.
Both displays show the battery capacity (7, 12) and eventual problems with the battery (8, 14). The battery capacity is displayed by pressing the battery indicator button (6,11). The Warning symbol is lit when an error has occurred. See fault codes.
| LED lights Battery status | |
| All LEDs are lit Fully charged | (80%-100%). |
| LED 1, LED 2, LED 3, LED 4 are lit | The battery is 60%-80% charged |

On adapter display, capacity indication is shown in 1% steps.
Charging (fig. A)
The battery must be charged before using it the first time. The battery is only 30% charged when delivered.
- Always switch on the battery on the power switch (10) (green LED (13) is lit).
- Put the adapter in the battery charger. Husqvarna QC 330 Make sure the adapter is fitted correctly in the battery charger. (2, 5)
- The green charging light on the charger is lit when the battery is connected to the battery charger. (3)
- The capacity indication (7) on the adapter and the power LED on the battery (13) are flashing during charging.
- Remove the adapter from the charger after charging.
Transport and storage
- The contained lithium-ion-batteries are subject to the Dangerous Goods Legislation requirements.
- For commercial transports e.g. by third parties, forwarding agents, special requirement on packing and labeling must be observed.
- For preparation of the item being shipped, consulting an expert for hazardous material is required. Please also observe possibly more detailed national regulations.
- Tape or mask off open contacts and pack up the battery in such a manner that it cannot move around in the packing.
-
Store the equipment in a lockable area so that it is out of reach of children and unauthorized persons.
-

- Store the battery, the adapter and the battery charger where the temperature is between 5^ and 45^ and never in direct sunlight.
- Be sure to store the battery and the adapter separated from the battery charger.
- Do not store the battery in places where static electricity can occur. Never store the battery in a metal box.
The energy density of the back pack battery is higher than 100 W/h. Therefore it is not allowed to send it by post. Please contact your local dealer.
Maintenance
Regulatory check that the battery charger and the battery are intact.
Make sure the battery and battery charger (especially the terminals) are always clean and dry before the adapter is placed in the battery charger or in the products.
Keep the battery guide tracks clean. Clean plastic parts with a clean and dry cloth.
Make sure that the ventilation slots are clean (both up and down). Otherwise the ventilation is limited.
Clean slots with a clean and dry brush.
Fault codes
Troubleshooting on battery and on adapter.
| LED display | Possible faults | Possible action |
| Error LED flashing | Temperature deviation | Use the battery in surroundings where temperatures are between -10 °C and 45 °C |
| Over voltage | Check that the mains voltage corresponds with that stated on the rating plate on the machine | |
| Remove the battery from the battery charger | ||
| Under voltage | Charge the battery | |
| Error LED is lit or battery does not show any activity. | Cell difference too much (1V) | Contact your service agent |
The battery will not be charged if the battery temperature is over 45^ . In that case the battery will actively cool down.
- If the LED on the battery charger is lit solid red, the battery charger requires a service.
Fuse (fig. D)
- Check the fuse, change if it has blown. Use only genuine parts for repairs. The warranty is not valid if non genuine parts are used.
- Switch off the battery (green LED (13) off).
- Remove the cover (20) with a screwdriver.
- Change the fuse
