How to connect the iron to my steam cleaner?

Plug the steam connector of the iron into the device socket of the steam cleaner until it clicks audibly. To disconnect, press the socket guard down and unplug.

What to do if the iron spits water?

Rinse or descale the steam cleaner boiler. If drops come out after a pause, direct the first burst of steam onto a separate cloth.

How to use vertical steaming?

Hold the iron upright and press the steam switch to steam vertically curtains and hanging clothes.

Can I use this iron with any ironing board?

It is recommended to use a KÄRCHER ironing board with active steam extraction. The board must have a permeable grid ironing surface.

What does the orange indicator light mean?

The orange light turns on when the iron is heating. It turns off when the iron is ready. During use, it turns on again during reheating, but you do not need to stop ironing.

How to clean and descale the appliance?

Maintenance mainly concerns the steam cleaner boiler: rinse or descale it if the iron spits water. Use only original accessories.

What to do if the iron does not heat?

Check that the steam cleaner is on and ready, that the boiler has water, and that the steam connector is properly engaged. If the problem persists, contact authorized after-sales service.

Does the iron turn off automatically?

Yes, the iron is equipped with an automatic shut-off that turns it off if not moved for more than 5 minutes. It turns back on as soon as it is moved.

Can I use this iron without steam?

Yes, the iron can be used dry for ironing. The temperature setting is fixed and optimal for all no-iron fabrics.

What safety precautions should be observed?

Please observe the safety instructions of your steam cleaner.

■ The steam pressure iron is hot and so is the steam jet.
■ Point out to other people the possible risk of being scalded or burnt. Never direct the steam jet at people or animals (risk of scalding). Do not touch any electrical leads or

combustible objects with the hot steam pressure iron.

■ The steam pressure iron must not be used if it has been dropped, shows visible signs of damage or if it leaks.
If the power cord is damaged, please arrange immediately for the exchange by an authorized customer service or a skilled electrician.

⚠ WARNING

This appliance can be used by children aged 8 or above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given instructions in safe use of the appliance or supervision to establish safe use and if they have been made aware of the hazards involved.

■ Children must not play with this appliance.

■ Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children without supervision.

■ The steam pressure iron must not be left unattended while it is connected to the supply mains.

■ The plug must be removed from the socket-outlet before the water reservoir (of the steam cleaner) is filled with water.

■ The steam pressure iron must be used and placed on a stable surface.
■ When placing the steam pressure iron on its stand, ensure that the surface on which the stand is placed is stable.
■ Repair works may only be performed by the authorized customer service.

Operations

Note

We recommend using the KÄRCHER ironing board with active steam suctioning. This ironing board is optimally matched to the device you have acquired. It facilitates and speeds up the ironing process. In any case, the ironing board used should have a steam-permeable, grid-like ironing base surface.

Note

It should be noted that in the case of an ironing board without steam suctioning, it is possible for an ironing board cover to become wet if condensate accumulates.

Commissioning

ATTENTION

Ironing may cause condensation to drip on the floor and damage sensitive floor coverings.

If possible, perform ironing tasks on a floor covering which is insensitive to condensation (e.g. tiles/stone).

For sensitive floor covering, ensure that the area on which condensation can drip is adequately protected (e.g. water-impermeable floor mat).

Note

The iron plate must be hot to prevent steam from condensing on the sole plate and dripping onto the ironing laundry.

1 Ensure that tap water or a mixture of tap water and no more than 50 % distilled water is in the steam boiler of the steam cleaner.
2 Insert the steam plug of the iron into the unit plug until it clicks into place.

To disconnect:

Press the cover of the appliance connector down and disconnect the steam plug from the appliance connector.

3 Putting the steam cleaner into operation; see chapter "Switching on the device".
4 Wait until the steam cleaner is ready for use.
5 The iron is ready for use as soon as the indicator light (orange) has gone out.
6 The indicator light comes on during use, when the iron is reheating. The application must not be interrupted during reheating.

With the fixed, optimal temperature setting, all ironable textiles can be ironed without additional temperature setting.

Smooth delicate fabrics and imprints on the back with steam without direct contact with the iron.

Note

The iron is fitted with an automatic switch-off which switches off the device if it has not been moved for more than 5 minutes. This automatic switch-off increases safety and saves energy as the iron does not heat up continuously. The iron will switch back on as soon as it is moved and start heating up.

Note

The iron can be held vertically for steaming curtains, dresses, etc.

1 As soon as the heating indicator light (orange) of the iron goes out, ironing can be started.
2 Press the steam switch on the handle below. Steam emits as long as the switch is pressed.
3 Before ironing and after pauses in the ironing process, direct the blast of steam onto a cloth until the steam flows evenly.

Often, failures have simple causes and you can do the troubleshooting yourself using the following overview. If you are in doubt or if the failure is not listed here please contact the authorized customer service.

No steam

The steam pressure iron "spits" water.

After ironing breaks, water drops come out of the steam pressure iron

During longer breaks from ironing, the steam in the steam line can condense.

→ Direct the first burst of steam at a separate piece of cloth.
