THERMOMETER, ESPECIALLY THIS BASIC SAFETY INFORMATION:
- When using this product, please make sure you follow all the instructions
listed below. Any deviation from these instructions may cause injury or affect the accuracy of the readings. - Check that your mains voltage is the same as that of your device.
• Always keep the monitor away from heat sources such as stoves, radiators, etc. - Do not use this device in a room in which aerosols (sprays) are used or in a room Version 1 du 01/03/2016
in which oxygen is administered.
- Do not place the thermometer in direct sunlight, or expose it to high temperatures, humidity or dirt.
- Do not immerse the device in water.
- Do not drop the device and do not use it if it is damaged.
- This device must be used at an ambient temperature of between 15^ et 35^ .
- Do not expose the thermometer to electric shocks.
- Do not expose this thermometer to extremes of temperature above 55°C or below -25°C.
- Do not use the device if the relative humidity is above 95% or below 10%.
- Do not use the device in the vicinity of large electro-magnetic fields, such as cordless or portable telephones.
- The accuracy of the measuring process may be disrupted if the forehead is covered by hair, a cap or a scarf.
- Please wait at least 30 minutes after taking a shower, exercising, eating or drinking before taking any temperature.
- It is recommended that the thermometer should be kept at room temperature for around 10 minutes before use.
- Use of this thermometer is not a substitute for consulting your doctor.
- If there is a problem with your device, please contact your reseller.
- Do not try to repair the device yourself.
- Do not take the device as a whole apart.
- This device is not intended for use by people, including children, with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities, or by people lacking experience or knowledge, unless they are supervised or have been instructed beforehand on how to use the equipment by someone responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to make sure they do not play with the device.
- Only use the thermometer for its intended purpose, as described in these instructions.
- The thermometer is pre-set when it leaves the factory. You do not therefore have to calibrate the device when you first use it.
- Put the thermometer back on its base and keep out of the reach of children after it has been used.
- The forehead thermometer has a probe which is used to take the temperature on the forehead only. Do not use it to take a temperature in the rectum, mouth, ear or armpit.
- Body temperature is generally lower in the morning and gradually rises throughout the day. Please therefore take your body temperature at the same time during the day and under the same conditions of use.
- The temperature must be taken between the eyebrows and roots of the hair.
- Do not place the thermometer on a scar or any problem areas of the skin, open wounds or abrasions or if you are suffering from any physical trauma.
- Consult your doctor if you are taking any medicines. These might increase your body temperature.
- The device's performance may be adversely affected if the thermometer is used or stored outdoors.
• The thermometer should only be used indoors.

HOW TO USE THE THERMOMETER
MEANING OF THE THERMOMETER'S SYMBOLS AND SIGNALS

OPERATING THE THERMOMETER
The "BABY STONE" forehead thermometer by LANAFORM® is a high-tech electronic device for taking body temperature. Please remove the protective film covering the battery compartment before using your thermometer for the first time. Press the thermometer's on/off button to switch it on (Figure 2) All the existing icons will appear on the screen for a second (Figure 3). The last temperature taken is then displayed on the screen showing « M » (memory) for a second (Figure 4).
A beep tone followed by the "OK" icon tells you that you can now take your child's temperature(Figure 5). To do this, carefully place the thermometer's probe on your baby's forehead as shown in Figure 6 and keep it there for 5 seconds.
An audible alert will sound and the temperature as well as an hourglass symbol « Z » will be instantly displayed on the screen for ten seconds or so(Figure 7).If the child's temperature rises above 37.8°C (100°F), 6 consecutive audible alerts will sound. You then have the option of taking the baby's temperature again immediately since a beep tone followed by the icon « OK » will again be displayed on the screen.
After one minute's inactivity, the thermometer will automatically switch to standby mode, displaying the ambient temperature of the room and the icon of a house « ☐ » will be displayed on the screen (Figure 8). If you want to take your child's temperature again, press the on/off button to activate the mode for taking the forehead temperature. To switch off the thermometer, press this on/off button again. To choose the °C or °F unit of measurement, switch the thermometer off. Then keep your finger on the thermometer's on/off button for 5 seconds. The °C or °F unit of measurement will be displayed on the screen.
Select the temperature required by pressing this same on/off button. Let the thermometer to set itself once you have chosen the unit of measurement and this
will be displayed on the screen. Do not press the on/off button as you might then change the unit of measurement you have chosen.
REPLACING THE BATTERY
- Press the cover protecting the battery and slide it towards the outer edge before removing it. 2. Get a new lithium CR2032 battery (3V) ready. 3. Remove the old battery from where it is located and replace it with the new one. 4. Replace the protective cover.
- To avoid accidents and misuse, keep the batteries out of the reach of children. - Please dispose of used batteries in the appropriate waste collection bins. To prevent environmental pollution, do not simply discard batteries. - Do not recharge the batteries. - Do not swallow the batteries. - Do not expose the batteries to fire or they might explode. - Do not dismantle the device except for its battery compartment. - It is recommended that the batteries be removed when the thermometer is not being used for long periods.
The following two tables are a guide showing average human temperatures according to the place where the temperatures are taken and age.

Notes: 1. The temperature of a body in good health varies according to a lot of factors: age, time of day, physical activity, outside temperature, etc., and more specifically when taken on the forehead (influenced by type of skin (greasy or dry, wrinkled or otherwise), ambient temperature (air conditioning, etc.). It is therefore important to establish the range of usual and normal temperatures for each member of your family to provide benchmarks for detecting any fever. 2. During any consultation, it is important to let your doctor know that the temperature taken was on the forehead.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
- When you start taking a new measurement and in order to ensure accuracy and good hygiene, always clean the tip of the probe with a cotton bud moistened with alcohol. Wait for two minutes before taking the temperature again.
- Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the body of the thermometer. Never use a rough towel and never immerse the thermometer in water or other liquids.

Advice regarding the disposal of waste:
- All the packaging is composed of materials that pose no hazard for the environment and which can be disposed of at your local sorting centre to be used as secondary raw materials. The cardboard may be disposed of in a paper recycling bin. The packaging film must be taken to your local sorting and recycling centre.
- When you have finished using the device, please dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way and in accordance with the law. Prior to disposal, please remove the battery and dispose of it at a collection point so that it can be recycled. Please note: under no circumstances should spent batteries be disposed of with household waste!!!

LANAFORM® guarantees this product against any material or manufacturing defect for a period of two years from the date of purchase, except in the circumstances described below. LANAFORM® may not be held liable for any type of circumstantial, indirect or specific damage. All implicit guarantees relating to the suitability of the product are limited to a period of two years from the initial date of purchase as long as a copy of the proof of purchase can be supplied.
