7. Micro-USBcharging connection

Thank you for choosing aHama product. Take your time and read the following instructions and information completely.Please keep these instructions in asafeplace for futurereference. If you sellthe device, please pass theseoperating instructions on to the new owner.

1. Explanation of Warning Symbols

  • These operating instructions
  • Use theproduct for its intendedpurpose only.
  • The product is intended for private, non- commercial use only.

4. Getting started and operation

4.1 Switching on/off

  • Use Power(1) to switchonthe speaker. Power (1)isinthe ON position.
  • Avoice noticationconrms that thedevice is readyfor operation. TheLED indicator (8) lights up blue. Note–Automatic standby Notethatthe speakerwillautomatically switchtostandby mode after 10 minutes without action(no audio playback/no Bluetooth function).

4.2 Charging the battery

Warning –Rechargeable battery

  • Onlyuse suitable chargingdeviceswith USB connections for charging.
  • Asarule, do not use charging devicesor USB connections thatare defectiveand do nottry to repair them yourself.
  • Avoid storing,chargingorusing the device in extreme temperatures and extremely lowatmospheric pressure (for example, at high altitudes).
  • Whenstoredfor along period of time, batteries should be charged regularly (at least everythree months).
  • Onlyuse suitable chargingdeviceswith USB connections for charging.
  • Asarule, do not use charging devicesor USB connections thatare defectiveand do nottry to repair them yourself.

  • Connect the included Micro-USB charging cable to the speaker’sMicro-USB port(7).
  • Connect the unusedconnector on the Micro-USBchargingcable to asuitable USB charger.Pleaserefer to theoperating instructions for the USBchargerused.
  • The statusLED (8) lights up constantly in red duringthe chargingprocess.
  • Ifthe battery is fully charged,the status LED (8) will go out. Note –Charging
  • Ittakes approx. 2hours to completely chargethe product.
  • The speaker’s batterycan be charged whether the speaker is on or off.
  • Ifthe battery capacity is lessthan 10%, the speaker will emit twoacoustic signals. Youwillonlyreceive this information if thespeaker is on.
  • The actual battery life varies depending on use of thedevice, thesettings and the ambientconditions(rechargeable batteries havealimited service life).
  • Check whether yourmobiledevice (MP3 player ,mobilephone,etc.)is Bluetooth capable.
  • Note thatthe maximum range for Bluetooth is 10 metres withoutobstacles such as walls, people, etc.
  • Make surethat your Bluetooth capable terminaldevice is on and Bluetooth is activated.
  • Make surethat the speaker is located withinthe Bluetooth range of max. 10 metres.
  • Switch on thespeakersasdescribed in

4.1 Switching theproductonand off.

  • The statusLED (8) begins to ash. The speaker searches for aconnection.
  • Openthe Bluetooth settings on your terminaldevice and wait until Hama Snapdrop appears in the list of Bluetooth devices found.
  • Select Hama Snapdrop andwaituntil the speaker is listed as connected in the Bluetooth settings on your terminal device. An acoustic signal conrms thatconnection wassuccessful.

  • Some terminal devicesrequire a passwordinorder to connecttoanother Bluetooth device.
  • Ifyour terminal device requests a passwordfor connection to thespeaker , enter 0000.

  • Make surethat your Bluetooth capable terminaldevice is on and Bluetooth
  • Make surethat the speaker is locatedwithin the Bluetooth range of max.10metres.
  • Switch on thespeakersasdescribed in

Switching the product on and off.

  • Aftersuccessfulconnection,the status LED (8) will lightupinblue. An acoustic signal conrms that connectionwas successful. Note–Connection impaired
  • Afterthe speaker andterminal device havebeenpaired, aconnection is establishedautomatically.Ifthe Bluetooth connection is notestablished automatically, checkthe following:
  • Check the Bluetooth settings of your terminaldevice to see whether Hama Snapdrop is connected. If not, repeat the stepslistedunder Bluetooth pairing.

4.5 Audio playback(via

Start andcontrol audio playback on the connected terminal device accordingly . Alternatively, audioplayback canalso be controlled on the speaker(if the connected devicesupports this function).

  • Press the>ІІ function button (4) to start or pause audio playback.
  • Aftersuccessfullyestablishing aBluetooth connection,openthe camerafunctionon yourterminal device.
  • Switch the Ha ma SnapdropfromAudio modetoCamera mode by pressing and holding the camerabutton (6)until an acoustic signal conrmsthatthe mode has beenchanged.
  • Set your devicetouse the camera on the frontsothat you can takeasele, or use the camera on the back to take pictures or record videos normally.
  • Press thecamerabutton (6)totriggerthe selected function (sele, photo, video).
  • Ifyou want to listen to music again using the Hama Snapdrop, switch backtothe Audio mode by pressingand holding the camerabutton(6). 4.7Hands-freefunction Youcan usethe speaker as ahands-free set foryour mobile phone. Forthisfunction, themobilephone must be connected to the speaker via Bluetooth
  • Press thePlay/Pause/Modebutton >ІІ (4) once to answeranincomingcall.
  • Press andholdthe Play/Pause/Mode button >ІІ (4) for about 3seconds to reject an incomingcall.
  • Ifyou wouldlike to end acall, press the Play/Pause/Mode button >ІІ (4) once during thecall. Note –Callquality To increase thecall quality,makesurethat you arenear thespeaker withyourmobile phone during thecall.
