WITH LIGHT PAA 20-Li B2 Introduction Congratulations on the purchase of your new appli- ance. You have chosen a high-quality product. The operating instructions are part of this product. They contain important information about safety, usage and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all of the operating and safety instruc- tions. Use the product only as described and for the range of applications specified. Please also pass these operating instructions on to any future owner. Intended use The battery adapter can be used as a charging sta- tion or power source via the two USB ports (only in conjunction with a battery from the Parkside X 20 V Team series). The cordless working light is not suit- able for lighting rooms in houses.PAA 20-Li B2■ 4 

Any other usage or modification of the appliance is deemed to be improper and carries a significant risk of accidents. The manufacturer accepts no responsi- bility for damage(s) resulting from improper usage. This appliance is intended for domestic use only. They contain important information about safety, usage and disposal. Before using the appliance, please familiarise yourself with all oper- ating and safety instructions. Use this appliance only as described and for the areas of applica- tions specified.  7 ■ Personal safety ■ Do not aim the light beam of the LED into the eyes of people or animals. This could be harmful to the eyes. Use (see fig. A) ♦ Slide the battery adapter onto a charged battery

It clicks into place audibly. LED light (see fig. B) NOTE ► With the LED light you can e.g. B. illuminate small dark areas so that you have an addi- tional light source. The LED light may only be used as supplementary lighting.PAA 20-Li B2■ 8 

Switching on ♦ Press the ON/OFF switch to activate the battery adapter . The control LED flashes four times and then lights up. ♦ Press the On/Off switch a second time to turn on the LED light

The control LED only lights up for a short time and can only be activated during this time. Switching off ♦ Press the ON/OFF switch again. The control LED goes out after a short time.PAA 20-Li B2 GB

 9 ■ Charging/operating a USB device (seefig. C) NOTE ► If only a small current (<130 mA) is drawn, the battery adapter switches off after a short time. It is therefore not possible to charge or operate such a device. ♦ Connect your USB device to the USB port

The control LED lights up perma- nently to indicate the power supply. Your device can now be charged or operated on the battery adapter . ♦ To turn off the USB port , press the ON/OFF switch again for around two seconds. ♦ If you are no longer using or charging your device, disconnect it from the battery adapter . Use belt clip ■ With the belt clip

you can use the battery adapter z. B. attach to a belt or the like. Maintenance and cleaning WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! Discon- nect the appliance from the battery before cleaning. Do not spray the appliance or place it in water. Risk of injury due to electric shock. ■ The appliance is maintenance-free. ■ Use a damp cloth or brush for cleaning. ■ Do not use cleaning agents or solvents. Storage ■ Store the appliance in a frost-free, dry and dust-protected place, out of the reach of children. Disposal The product and its packaging are recyclable. Do not dispose of power tools in your normal domestic waste! The adjacent symbol of a crossed-out dustbin means that this appliance is subject to Directive 2012/19/EU. This directive states that this appliance may not be disposed of in the normal household waste at the end of its useful life, but must be taken to specially set-up collection locations, recycling depots or disposal companies. The disposal is free of charge for the user. Protect the environment and dispose of this appliance properly. Your local community or municipal authorities can provide information on how to dispose of the worn-out product.PAA 20-Li B2 GB

 13 ■ Do not dispose of batteries in your normal household waste! Defective or worn-out rechargeable batteries must be recycled according to Directive 2006/66/EC. Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be treated as hazardous waste and must therefore be disposed of in an environmentally sound manner by appropriate bodies (dealers, specialist dealers, public municipal bodies, commer- cial disposal companies). Batteries/recharge able batteries may contain toxic heavy metals.PAA 20-Li B2■ 14 

The packaging is made from environ- mentally friendly material and can be disposed of at your local recycling plant. Dispose of the packaging in an environ- mentally friendly manner. Note the label- ling on the packaging and separate the packaging material components for disposal if necessary. The packaging material is labelled with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following meanings: 1–7: plastics, 20–22: paper and cardboard, 80–98: composites.PAA 20-Li B2 GB

 15 ■ Kompernass Handels GmbH warranty Dear Customer, This appliance has a 3-year warranty valid from the date of purchase. If this product has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by the warranty described below. Warranty conditions The warranty period starts on the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt in a safe place. This will be required as proof of purchase. If any material or manufacturing fault occurs within three years of the date of purchase of the product, we will either repair or replace the product for you or refund the purchase price (at our discretion). This war- ranty service requires that you present the defective appliance and the proof of purchase (receipt) within the three-year warranty period, along with a brief writ- ten description of the fault and of when it occurred.PAA 20-Li B2■ 16 

If the defect is covered by the warranty, your product will either be repaired or replaced by us. The repair or replacement of a product does not signify the beginning of a new warranty period. X 12 V and X 20 V Team Series battery packs come with a 3-year warranty valid from the date of purchase. Warranty period and statutory claims for defects The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs effected under the warranty. This also applies to replaced and repaired components. Any damage and defects present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Repairs car- ried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be subject to a fee. Scope of the warranty This appliance has been manufactured in accordance with strict quality guidelines and inspec- ted meticulously prior to delivery.PAA 20-Li B2 GB

 17 ■ The warranty covers material faults or production faults. The warranty does not extend to product parts subject to normal wear and tear or to fragile parts which could be considered as consumable parts such as switches or parts made of glass. The warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged, improperly used or improperly maintained. The directions in the operating instructions for the prod- uct regarding proper use of the product are to be strictly followed. Uses and actions that are discour- aged in the operating instructions or which are warned against must be avoided. This product is intended solely for private use and not for commercial purposes. The warranty shall be deemed void in cases of misuse or improper han- dling, use of force and modifications / repairs which have not been carried out by one of our authorised Service centres.PAA 20-Li B2■ 18
