How do I charge the battery of my Kärcher OC 3 Plus Auto?

Plug the supplied charger into a mains socket and connect it to the charger socket on the device. The level indicator flashes during charging and lights up continuously when the battery is full. Do not charge for more than 24 hours.

Can I use tap water or do I need demineralised water?

You can use clear tap water. Never pour detergent, solvent or additive into the tank.

How do I fill the water tank?

Tilt the transport handle to the side, pull the tank upwards, open the lid and fill with clear water. Replace the tank making sure the hose is properly positioned.

Can I suck water from a bucket?

Yes, remove the valve key and fine filter, insert the suction hose connector, then dip the hose into a bucket of water. Remember to put the key and filter back for use with the tank.

What should I do if the device does not pressurise?

Check the water level in the tank, clean the valve key and fine filter. Make sure the valve key is properly seated with the pin pointing upwards.

How do I clean the filter and valve key?

Remove the valve key and fine filter using the suction hose connector or pliers, rinse them under running water, then reassemble with the pin pointing upwards.

Can the device be used to wash a car?

Yes, it is designed for exterior cleaning of vehicles, but only with water without detergent. Use the universal brush or suitable nozzles.

How do I protect the device from frost?

Completely empty the water from the tank and hoses. Run the device until no more water comes out. Store it in a frost-free place.

What should I do if the battery indicator flashes unusually?

Refer to the flash code table in the manual: fast flashing means charging, continuous = full, slow flashing = low battery (2 min remaining), red flashing = battery discharged or thermal protection activated.

Can I use non-Kärcher accessories?

It is recommended to use only original Kärcher accessories and spare parts to ensure safety and proper operation.

Charger

DANGER Never touch the mains plug and socket with wet hands. Danger of explosion. Do not charge any non-rechargeable battery. Do not charge the battery pack in an explosion-hazard environment. Never insert conductive objects, e.g. screwdrivers or similar, into the charging socket on the appliance.

WARNING • Only charge the appliance using the original charger enclosed or with a charger approved by KÄRCHER. • Protect the power cable from heat, sharp edges, oil and moving parts. • Do not open the charger. Repairs are only to be carried out by qualified personnel.

• Only use the charger for charging approved battery packs. - Immediately replace a damaged charger together with charging cable with an original part. - The appliance contains electrical components - do not clean the appliance under running water. - You may not charge the battery pack for longer than 24 hours without interruption.

CAUTION · Do not use the battery pack when dirty or wet.

• Keep the charger ventilation slits free of obstructions. - Do not pull the mains plug out the socket using the power supply cable. - Do not carry/transport the device using the power supply cable.

• Only use and store the charger in dry rooms.

WARNING The device is not intended for use by children, persons with restricted physical, sensory or mental abilities or persons unfamiliar with these instructions. Persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities and persons lacking experience and knowledge may only use the appliance if they are properly supervised, have been instructed on use of the appliance safely by a person responsible for their safety, and understand the resultant hazards involved.

Children must not play with the appliance. Children must be supervised to prevent them from playing with the appliance.

Never fill the water reservoir with solvents, liquids containing solvents or undiluted acids (e.g. detergents, petrol, paint thinners and acetone). Device damage due to dry running. Only switch on the device when water is present in the water reservoir.

• Do not operate the device at temperatures below 0^ .

Intended use

Use the low pressure cleaner in private households only.

The low pressure cleaner is intended for cleaning machines, vehicles, tools, facades, terraces, garden machines, pets etc. using a low-pressure water stream without additional detergents.

Environmental protection

The packing materials can be recycled. Please dispose of packaging in accordance with the environmental regulations.

Electrical and electronic devices contain valuable, recyclable materials and often components such as batteries, rechargeable batteries or oil, which - if handled or disposed of incorrectly - can

pose a potential danger to human health and the environment. However, these components are required for the correct operation of the device. Devices marked by this symbol are not allowed to be disposed of together with the household rubbish.

Cleaning work producing in oily waste water, e.g. washing engines, washing undercarriages etc.,

may only be performed at washing stations with an oil separator.

Working with detergents may only be performed on watertight surfaces with connection to the waste water sewage system. Do not allow detergent to enter waterways or the soil.

Extraction of water from public waterways is not permitted in some countries.

Power switch

The power switch prevents unintentional operation of the device.

Pressure switch

If the lever on the trigger gun is released, the pressure switch turns off the pump and the low pressure stream is stopped. The pump switches on again when the lever is pressed.

Motor circuit breaker

The motor circuit breaker shuts off the device if power consumption it too high.

Symbols on the device

Charge the battery pack only using the original charger enclosed or with a charger approved by KÄRCHER.

2. Remove the valve opener using the suction hose connection or a suitable pair of pliers.

Device cannot be operated

Store the valve opener and fine filter in the storage compartment provided.

Fit the valve opener and fine filter before using the device with the water reservoir. Ensure that the pin of the valve opener points upwards.

Pump running dry

Damage to the device

If pressure does not build up in the device after 2 minutes then switch the device off and proceed according to the instructions in chapter Troubleshooting guide.

1. Press the power switch.

Operation with conical jet nozzle

The conical jet nozzle is suitable for gentle cleaning of fur and paws or particularly sensitive components.

Recommended cleaning method

1. Spray the detergent sparingly on the dry surface and let it work for a while (do not let it dry).

2. Rinse off the loosened dirt with the low pressure stream.

Operation with universal brush

Ensure that the universal brush is free from dirt or other particles before using it.

1. Fit the universal brush.

Interrupting operation

1. Release the lever of the trigger gun.

After another 5 minutes without being pressed, the device shuts off automatically.

Ending operation

1. Remove the reservoir or suction hose.

2. Switch the device on.

3. Actuate the lever of the trigger gun until no more water is emitted.

4. Release the lever of the trigger gun.

5. Completely empty the reservoir.

6. If necessary, reinsert the fine filter and valve opener. Ensure that the pin of the valve opener points upwards.

Switch off the device and unplug the charger from the device before performing any work on the device.

Have repair work and work on electrical components carried out by the authorised customer service only.

Malfunctions often have simple causes that you can remedy yourself using the following overview. When in doubt, or in the case of malfunctions not mentioned here, please contact your authorised Customer Service.

Device not running

The charging state of the battery is too low.

1. Check the charging state of the battery and charge it if necessary.

Motor overloaded; the motor circuit breaker has tripped.

1. Switch off the device.

2. Switch the device on and resume operation.

The ambient temperature lies outside the permissible range (see Chapter Technical data), the motor circuit breaker has tripped.

1. Switch off the device.
2. Allow the device to cool down/heat up.
3. Switch the device on and resume operation. Have the device checked by Customer Service if this malfunction occurs repeatedly.

Device does not reach required pressure

1. Make sure there is enough water in the tank or water container.
2. Clean the valve opener and fine filter (see Chapter Cleaning the valve opener/fine filter).
3. Make sure that the valve opener is inserted with the pin pointing upwards.

Strong pressure fluctuations

1. Clean the nozzle: Remove contamination and debris from the nozzle hole, using a needle and rinse with water from the front.
2. Make sure there is enough water in the reservoir or water container.

Device leaking

1. The device leaks a small amount for technical reasons. If the leak is severe, request authorised Customer Service.

Warranty

The warranty conditions issued by our relevant sales company apply in all countries. We shall remedy possible malfunctions on your appliance within the warranty period free of cost, provided that a material or manufacturing defect is the cause. In a warranty case, please contact your dealer (with the purchase receipt) or the next authorised customer service site.
