PROBLÈME CAUSE POSSIBLE SOLUTION
1. Important safety instruction
■ Please read all of the safety and operating instructions carefully before using this product. Please pay particular attention to all sections of this operator manual that carry warning symbols and notices. ■ This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. ■ Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
■ Read the instructions carefully. Be familiar with the controls and the proper use of the appliance. ■ Never allow children to use the appliance. ■ Never allow people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the appliance. Local Regulations may restrict the age of the operator. ■ Never operate the appliance while people, especially children, or pets are nearby. ■ The operator or user is responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to other people or their property.
■ While operating the appliance, always wear substantial footwear and long trousers ■ Dress properly - Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. They can be caught in moving parts. Use of sturdy gloves and substantial footwear is recommended when working outdoors. ■ Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair. Wear protective goggles while operating. ■ To prevent dust irritation the wearing of a face mask is recommended. ■ Before using, check the supply and extension cord for signs of damage and aging. Do not use the appliance if the cord is damaged or worn. ■ Never operate the appliance with defective guards or shields, or without safety devices, for example collection bag in place. ■ Only use a weather proof extension cable correctly rated to your machine.
■ Always direct the cable to the rear away from the appliance. ■ If the cord becomes damaged during use, disconnect the cord from the supply immediately. DO NOT

FROM THE SUPPLY. Do not use the appliance if the cord is damaged or worn. ■ Do not carry the appliance by the cable. ■ Avoid Dangerous Environment - Don't use appliances in damp or wet locations. ■ Disconnect the appliance from the mains supply whenever you leave the machine, before clearing a blockage, before checking, cleaning or working on the appliance. If the appliance starts to vibrate abnormally switch it off immediately, disconnect the appliance from the mains and inspect for obstructions or damage to the unit. ■ Operate the appliance only in daylight or in good artificial light. ■ Do not overreach and keep your balance at all times. ■ Always be sure of your footing on slopes. ■ Walk, never run. ■ Keep all cooling air inlets clear of debris. ■ Never blow debris in the direction of bystanders. ■ Appliance should be supplied via a residual device with a tripping current of not more than 30mA.
5. Maintenance and storage
■ Keep all nuts, bolts and screw tight to be sure the appliance is in safe working condition. ■ Check the appliance frequently for wear or deterioration. ■ Replace worn or damaged parts. ■ Use only genuine replacement parts and accessories. ■ Store Idle Appliances Indoors - When not in use, appliances should be stored indoors in dry, and high or locked-up place - out of reach of children.
6. Additional safety rules for blower vacuum
■ Always wear adequate protective clothing when operating the tool to avoid injuries to face, eyes, hands, feet, head or hearing, Use safety glasses or a face shield, high boots or sturdy shoes, long trousers, work gloves, a hard hat and ear defenders. ■ Do not start the tool when it is upside down or when it is not in the operating position. ■ Switch the motor off and disconnect from power when the tool is not being used, left unattended, being cleaned, being moved from one place to another or when the extension cord is entangled or damaged.11 ENGLISH (Original Instructions) SYMBOLS Some of the following symbols may be used on your tool. Please study them and learn their meaning. Proper interpretation of these symbols will allow you to operate the tool safely and effectively. Symbol Explanation These warning symbols are displayed on the blower vacuum to remind you of the safety precautions you should take when operating it. This blower vacuum should only be used by those persons who have read and understood all the safety and operating instruction contained in the operator manual. Be aware of the safety of all persons in the work area at all times. Keep other people out of the danger area! Do not use this blower vacuum in the rain. Avoid using it in damp conditions. When using this blower vacuum, always wear protective glasses. Wear ear protection. ■ Do not operate the tool near people, especially children or pets. Turn it off if they get too close. Maintain a safe distance of at least 5m from other people when using the tool. ■ Never direct the blower tube towards bystanders or pets. Never blow debris in the direction of bystanders or pets. The operator is responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to other people or their property. ■ Do not handle the plug or the tool with wet hands and do not use the tool in the rain. ■ Use only outdoor rated extension leads that are so marked. Keep the extension cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges. ■ Ensure that the extension lead is secured in a manner that prevents it form disconnecting from the plug whilst in use. ■ Keep all the air intakes and the blower tube free of dust, lint, hair and other material that may cause a reduction in air flow. ■ Keep a balanced and stable stance while using the tool. ■ Do not switch on the tool in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces or in the presence of flammable and/or explosive substance such as liquids, gases and powders. ■ Do not get distracted and always concentrate on what you are doing. Use common sense. Never operate the tool when you are tired, sick or under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. ■ Do not operate this appliance with long loose hair or loose fitting jewellery. Tie long loose hair back and remove loose fitting jewellery. ■ Do not allow the blower vacuum to pick up any burning or smoldering materials like ashes, cigarette butts etc. ■ Do not attempt to pick up breakable objects like glass, plastics, china etc. ■ Do not use in vacuum operation without the collection bag fitted ■ Do not use the blower vacuum in either the vacuum or the blower position on gravel surfaces. ■ Only operate the tool during broad daylight or with adequate artificial light. ■ When the tool is not in use, store it in a dry place and out of reach of children. ■ After use, disconnect the tool from the power supply and inspect for wear and damage. If you have the slightest doubts, contact an authorized service centre. ■ Only use the tool according to the instructions given in this manual. ■ Check regularly that screws are tight. ■ Use only spare parts and accessories recommended by the manufacture. ■ Do not try to repair the tool or access internal parts. Contact authorized service centers only. ■ It is recommended that the blower vacuum should be used with a Residual Current Device (RCD) with a tripping current of no more than 30mA.12 ENGLISH (Original Instructions) Read this safety and operating instructions in this booklet and keep it in a safe place for future reference. 5. Mulch/Vacuum gate
ENGLISH (Original Instructions) ASSEMBLY UNPACKING ■ Carefully remove the product and any accessories from the box. ■ Inspect the product carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping. ■ Do not discard the packing material until you have carefully inspected and satisfactorily operated the product. ■ If any parts are damaged or missing, please call your Greenworks Tools service centre for assistance. The blower vac is supplied with some components not assembled. To assemble these, proceed as follows: ASSEMBLE AS A MULCHER(Fig.2) ■ Slide the front and rear mulcher tubes together until locked. (See fig 2) ■ Pull the lock button forward to disengage the gate. Hold the gate open. (See fig 2.1) ■ Insert the “wedged” end clip of the mulcher tube into the rear clip. (See fig 2.2). Push the “hooked” end clip of the mulcher tube into the front clip. (See fig 2.3). Press the lock button back to engage the mulcher tube. (See fig 2.4) ■ To remove mulcher tubes, follow the steps (3) (2) (1). ■ Insert the bag adaptor into the blower outlet. Lock the bag adaptor with the lock button. To remove the bag, simply press lock button and remove bag. (see Fig.4). NOTE: It may be necessary to remove the blower tube or mulcher tubes to clear a blocked tube or impeller.
To prevent serious personal injury, make sure the switch is in the OFF position, it is unplugged, and the impellers have stopped before attaching or removing tubes. ASSEMBLE AS A BLOWER(Fig.3) ■ Slide blower tube forward until the notched areas on the blower housing click into the slots on the tube. INSTALLING BAG WITH SHOULDER HARNESS (Fig. 4) ■ While standing in the operating position adjust the length to fit the operator’s size. Pull the tab to lengthen, pull the strap to shorten. OPERATION CONNECTING THE POWER CORD (Fig. 5) ■ Secure the extension cord to the motor housing using the notch at rear of blower. This prevents accidental removal of the electrical cord. ■ Plug the female end of the electrical cord into the receptacle at the back of the unit. STARTING/STOPPING THE BLOWER/ MULCHER (Fig. 6) ■ To turn on: Press the switch with ON position. ■ Rotate the dial forward to increase speed. ■ To turn off: Press the switch with OFF position. IMPORTANT: While in mulching mode the blower MUST be in high speed position.
HOLDING THE BLOWER/MULCHER
Before operating the unit, stand in the operating position. Check for the following: ■ Operator is wearing proper clothing, such as boots, safety glasses or goggles, ear/hearing protection, gloves, long pants and a long sleeve shirt. WARNING To avoid serious personal injury, wear goggles or safety glasses that comply with ANSI Z87.1 at all times when operating this unit. Wear a face mask or dust mask in dusty locations
WARNING To prevent serious personal injury or damage to the unit, make sure the blower tube or the mulcher tubes and the bag are in place before operating the unit
OPERATING TIPS (Fig. 7) ■ The bag is installed and zipped closed (when used as a mulcher). ■ Be sure the bag is zipped closed before operating the unit. ■ Assure the unit is not directed at anybody or any loose debris before starting the unit. ■ Verify that the unit is in good working condition. Make sure the tubes and guards are in place and secure. ■ Always hold the unit with both hands when operating. ■ Keep a firm grip on both the front and rear handle or grips. ■ To reduce the risk of hearing loss associated with sound level(s), hearing protection is required. ■ Use the shoulder strap when using unit as a mulcher. ■ Operate power equipment only at reasonable hours— not early in the morning or late at night when people might be disturbed. Comply with times listed in local ordinances. Usual recommendations are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Saturday.14 ENGLISH (Original Instructions) ■ To reduce noise levels, limit the number of pieces of equipment used at any one time. ■ To reduce noise levels, operate power blowers at the lowest possible speed to do the job. ■ Use rakes and brooms to loosen debris before blowing. ■ In dusty conditions, slightly dampen surfaces. ■ Conserve water by using power blowers instead of hoses for many lawn and garden applications, including areas such as gutters, screens, patios, grills, porches, and gardens. ■ Watch out for children, pets, open windows or freshly washed cars, and blow debris safely away. ■ Clean up after using blowers and other equipment. Dispose of debris appropriately. NOTE: Please ensure that the Mulch/Vacuum Gate is completely closed and locked. AIR VENTS ■ Never cover air vents. Keep them free from obstructions and debris. They must always remain clear for proper motor cooling. WARNING To avoid serious personal injury, do not wear loose fitting clothing or articles such as scarves, strings, chains, ties, etc., that could get drawn into the air vents. To make sure long hair does not get drawn into the air vents, tie back long hair.
OPERATING AS A BLOWER
Hold the blower rmly. Sweep from side to side with the nozzle several inches above the ground or oor. Slowly advance the unit, keeping the accumulated pile of debris in front of you. Most dry blowing operations are better suited to low speeds, rather than high. High speed blowing is a better way to move heavier items like large debris or gravel.
OPERATING AS A MULCHER
Hold the vac rmly, tilting the mulcher tubes (2-4 in. or 5-10 cm), and use a sweeping action to collect light debris. The debris will ow into the bag. Items such as small leaves and twigs will be mulched as they pass through the fan housing. For longer bag life and increased performance, empty the bag often.
CLEARING A BLOCKED TUBE / IMPELLER
WARNING To avoid serious personal injury, be sure the unit is OFF and unplugged before clearing the impeller. WARNING To avoid serious personal injury, always wear gloves to protect yourself from the impeller blades or other sharp objects. ■ Slide the Power/Speed switch down to the OFF position until the unit comes to a complete stop. ■ Unplug the unit. ■ Remove the blower tube or mulcher tubes and the bag. ■ Carefully remove material blocking the tube or impeller. Inspect the blades to ensure no damage has occurred. Rotate the impeller blades by hand to ensure the blockage is completely cleared. ■ Reinstall the blower tube or mulcher tubes and the bag. ■ Plug the unit back into the power supply. MAINTENANCE WARNING Never use water for cleaning your product, use only a dry cloth. Do not clean with chemicals or solvents as some can destroy critical plastic parts. ■ Switch off and disconnect from the mains power supply before cleaning your product. ■ Always empty the collection bag. ■ Always store the product in a dry place ensuring the cable is not likely to be damaged.
CLEANING THE COLLECTION BAG
■ Empty the collection bag after each use to avoid deterioration and obstruction of the air flow which will reduce the performance of the unit. ■ Clean the collection bag as needed. With eye protection on, turn the dust bag inside out after initial emptying and vigorously shake out the dust and debris.15 ENGLISH (Original Instructions) DIPOSAL Waste electrical products should not be disposed of together with household waste. MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE INFORMATION
Prior to cleaning or any maintenance, always ensure the power plug has been removed from the electric power supply. When you have finished using the blower vac, always check to make sure the product is clean and free of dirt and debris. It is especially important to check and clear debris around the quick change lever. To check this area, remove the collection bag and ensure the discharge side of the tube is free of debris and dirt. Operate the selector lever backwards and forwards to ensure correct operation ■ Do not use solvents to clean the blower vac. ■ Store the blower vac in a dry place, and out of reach of children.
POWER CORD MAINTENANCE
If the supply cord needs replacing, the task must be carried out by the manufacturer, the manufacturer’s agent, or an authorised service centre in order to avoid a safety hazard. TROUBLESHOOTING

This warranty does not cover damage or liability caused by / due to misuse, abuse, accidental or intentional acts by user, improper handling, unreasonable use, negligence, failure by end user to follow operating procedures outlined in the user’s manual, attempted repair by non-qualied professional, unauthorized repair, modication, or use of accessories and/or attachments not specically recommended by authorized party. This warranty does not cover belts, brushes, bags, bulbs or any part which ordinary wear and tear results in required replacement during warranty period. Unless specically provided under applicable law, this warranty does not cover transportation cost or consumable items such as fuses. This limited warranty is void if the product’s original identication (trade mark, serial number, etc.) markings have been defaced, altered or removed or if product is not purchased from an authorized reseller or if product is sold AS IS and / or WITH ALL FAULTS.
