General Safety Instructions

• Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.

• The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fi t for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors (except if it is designed to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately. Do not put it in water.

• When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.

• Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you should leave the work- place, always switch the machine off or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead).

• To protect children from the dangers posed by electrical appliances, make sure that the cable is hanging low and that children do not have access to the appliance.

• Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.

• Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualifi ed person and with a cable of the same type.

• Use only original spare parts.

• Keep batteries away from children. They are not a toy!

• Never throw batteries into a fi re or immerse in water.

• When inserting a battery, ensure the correct polarity.

• Different battery types or new and used batteries must not be used together.

• Do not open the batteries by force.

• Avoid contact with metallic objects. (Rings, nails, screws et cetera.) There is a danger of short-circuiting!

• As a result of a short-circuit batteries may heat up considerably or even catch fi re. This may result in burns.

• If a battery leaks do not rub the liquid into your eyes or mucous membranes. If hands come into contact with the liquid they should be washed thoroughly and eyes rinsed out with clear water; if symptoms persist please consult a doctor.

• Used batteries should not be disposed of in the normal domestic waste. Ple- ase return old batteries to an appropriate connection point. Germany

• You can return your old (rechargeable) batteries free of charge where they were bought, as well as at the local public collection points in your town. Hair-clipper Special Safety Advice for this Machine

• Only dry hair should be cut with this machine.

• Only use the machine for cutting hair.

• Do not use the device near water (e.g. bathtubs, sinks or other containers fi lled with water). Use of the Hair Cutter Use with the Mains Adapter (Battery Machines)

• Connect the machine to the mains adapter.

• Connect the device to a duly installed 230 V/50 Hz protective contact socket. The device can now also be used when the batteries are fl at. Charging the Battery Before the machine can be used without a cord, the battery must be charged.

• Turn the device off.

• To charge up the device, insert the plug of the power pack into a 230 V/50 Hz socket and then connect the cable with the connection socket of the charging station or directly with the device.

• The charge control lamp now illuminates.

• The fi rst time charging will take approx. 10 hours; for subsequent charging will take´approx. 8 hours. Then disconnect the mains adapter. NOTE:

• The lamp (6) does not give any indication of the charge level of the battery. The charging lamp on the drive unit lights up when there is contact with the mains adapter.

• Do not leave the device connected to the charger more than necessary, otherwise the life of the batteries risks being shortened.

• Let the batteries run out completely before charging again. Preparing for Cutting

1. Briefl y comb the hair.

2. Oil the blades slightly.

3. Push the blade protector (3) to the rear so that the shearing blade is uncovered.

4. Place a cutting length guide suitable to the desired cutting length. If you are

5. Insert the plug in a duly installed 230 V/50 Hz protective contact socket, switch

on the device and run the device with the guide comb upwards and at a con- stant speed through your hair. The guide is held in a level position. Cutting without Cutting Length Accessory This is suitable for trimming the hair. WARNING! In order to prevent accidents push the blade protector (3) up to the shearing blade. For areas which are not accessible to the razor it is possible to use the scissors. IMPORTANT: Do not use the device for more than 10 minutes. Allow the equipment to cool down for 10 minutes, before using it again. Cleaning

• Disconnect the machine from the mains.

• Clean the device after use with a dry cloth.

• The blades and accessories should be cleaned with the brush. When the device is not in use If the mill is not going to be used for a considerable time, please remove the batte- ries in order to prevent battery acid from leaking out. Battery Disposal The device contains rechargeable nickel-cadmium batteries. NiCd:

• Used batteries and accumulators (rechargeable batte- ries) should not be disposed of in domestic waste.

Nose hair trimmer Special Safety Advice for this Machine

• Do not insert the device further than the thin tip of the shearing blade up your nose!

• Do not use the device if the shearing blade holder, the shearing blade or the inner blade are distorted or damaged! DANGER OF INJURY!

• This device is to be used exclusively for the cutting of nose and ear hair! Do not use the device any other purpose!

• The shearing blade and the inner blade are precision-manufactured. Do not exert heavy loads on it and avoid knocking!

• Keep the device away from humidity and liquids!

• Do not remove the shearing head during use! Switch off the device and remo- ve the battery before cleaning!

• Do not insert pointed objects in the shearing head. Insert Battery (Batteries not supplied.)

• Open the battery compartment by pushing the cover downward.

• Insert a 1.5 V AA type battery with the positive pole pointing upward in the battery holder.

• Close the battery compartment again.

• Batteries are not to be disposed of together with domestic wastes.

• Dispose of the used batteries at the relevant collection bin or at your dealer’s. Putting into Service

1. Take the protection cap off the shearing head.

2. To switch on the device shift the on/off switch towards the shearing head.

Do not switch on the device with the protection cap not mounted on the device!

• Before cleaning switch the device off with the on/off switch. Open the battery compartment. Remove the cleaning brush from the fi cxture.

• Turn the shearing head counter-clockwise to remove it and pull it out. Remove the shear blade with caution. Warning: the shear blade is sharp! DANGER OF INJURY!

• Brush the shearing head and the clamp in a star-shaped manner. Remove even the smallest bits of hair by blowing.

• Do not dip the device or any parts of it in water!

• Insert the shearing blade starting from the cutting surface back on the shea- ring head.

• Place the shearing head on the device’s drive shaft and turn it clockwise to tighten it.

• After cleaning, fi t the cleaning brush back into the support. Insert the battery again and close the battery compartment.

This device has been tested according to all relevant current CE guidelines, such as electromagnetic compatibility and low voltage directives, and has been constructed in accordance with the latest safety regulations. Subject to technical changes without prior notice! Guarantee The device supplied by our Company is covered by a 24 month guarantee starting on the date of purchase (receipt). During the life of the guarantee any fault of the device or its accessories *) ascri- bable to material or manufacturing defects will be eliminated free of charge by repairing or, at our discretion, by replacing it. The guarantee services do not entail an extension of the life of the guarantee nor do they give rise to any right to a new guarantee! Proof of the guarantee is provided by the proof of purchase. Without proof of purchase no free replacement or repair will be carried out. Defects to consumables or parts subject to wearing (e.g. motor pistons, kneading blades, drive shafts, spare remote control, spare toothbrushes, saw blades, etc.) as well as cleaning, maintenance or the replacement of said parts are not covered by the guarantee and hence are to be paid!
