4.2. Preparing for use
4.2.1. Appliance location
The transmitter achieves the greatest signal range when mounted or suspended vertically. Avoid laying it flat. The receiver must be placed away from computer monitors or TV sets. If other devices operate in the same frequency band, signal problems may occur.
4.3. Assembling the device
4.3.1. Inserting batteries
1) Remove the battery compartment cover. 2) Insert the batteries into the compartment observing the polarity. 3) Replace the battery compartment cover.
Note:
• If you need to replace the batteries with new ones, proceed in the same way as above. - If none of the LEDs are lit, please make sure the batteries are inserted correctly or the reset was correct. • If the temperature can drop below 0°C, better use lithium batteries instead of alkaline ones.

4.3.2. Configuring the set
A. Transmitter
1) After installing the batteries, the transmitter will start for a short time, and this will be indicated by the LED light. Then the LED will turn off, and the transmitter will go into normal operation mode. 2) A transmitter will start searching for a radio time signal. If a signal reception is correct, a diode will flash and, afterwards, light for several seconds. 3) When operating in a standard mode, a diode will light for a moment every 48 seconds.
B. Receiver
1) After the batteries are installed, the receiver will start. 2) A receiver will start searching for a transmitter signal. The icon of a radio signal reception will appear on a display. 3) When the receiver detects a transmitter signal, it will switch to a standard operation mode. 4) When no radio signal is detected, the device restarts searching every 6 hours. 5) If the signal is lost or the measurement results are not displayed:
a) Press and hold the [RESET] button on the transmitter.
b) Take out the batteries and after about 2 minutes put them back into the battery compartment of the receiver.

4.5.2. Connecting the weather station console to Wi-Fi
To send weather data to these services, you must connect your device to the Internet via Wi-Fi. The console can only operate via Wi-Fi when the external power adapter is connected and plugged into a power outlet.
Note: If you are testing the setup of the outdoor sensor package indoors, you can connect to Wi-Fi, but you should not yet configure any of the weather services. This is because the indoor temperature and humidity recorded by the outdoor sensors will be reported to the weather services, but indoor conditions do not reflect outdoor conditions and therefore will not be accurate. In addition, the rain gauge may activate and record rainfall during setup, even though it is not actually raining. The Wi-Fi connection of the weather station should be configured only after the sensors have been installed outdoors!
A. Upload your weather data to the Ecowitt website. We recommend using the Ecowitt Weather server to monitor and record your sensors' data. The Ecowitt Weather server supports uploading all the sensors' data. For other weather services, only server-supported data will be uploaded.
