• The jug is locked on to the device by sliding the jug along the side of the reservoir and turning it towards the interior.
COOKING In the bottom part of the 2 jugs, you will see graduation marks from 1 to 3.
These levels help you measure the amount of water to be poured into the heating reservoir and determine the cooking time (refer to the cooking guide on page 15).
• Lock the cooking jug by pressing on the heat-resistant zone situated on the top of the locking arm. In order to avoid the risk of burning at the end of the cooking cycle, do not lock the lid with the palm of your hand. If the jug is not locked properly, the lid and the jug’s safety device will prevent the device from being switched on.
• The jug is removed using the spatula which may be passed through the jug’s handles, with the Beaba logo facing upwards.
Dice the food to about 1cm x 1cm and place in the basket Measure out the water with the cooking jug (using the graduations 1-2-3). Always use water at room temperature with nothing added (salt, sugar, etc.).
Pour water into the heating reservoir by placing the lip of the jug on the upper edge of the reservoir.
Place the basket in the jug, taking care to position the tongue of the basket in the lip of the jug. To ensure even cooking, it is recommended that you do not overload the basket. Lock the jug onto the device and close the lid of the jug. Plug in the device and press the right steam button if you are using the right-hand jug, or the left steam button if you are using the left-hand jug. A light and a sound signal shows when the cooking cycle starts. When cooking is completed, a sound signal is heard and the steam symbol on the button corresponding to your jug flashes. To stop it, press this button.
• The spatula is stored at the rear of the device.
CAUTION ! Handling the blade (very sharp), the jug and accessories after cooking must be done with great care, with any remaining condensation still being very hot after cooking.
N.B.: It is possible to cook in both jugs at the same time.
Remember to fill the right-hand heating reservoir if you ✔ are using the right-hand jug and the left-hand heating reservoir if you are using the left-hand jug.
Never immerse the electrical base in water.

Empty the food into the jug and insert it on the device’s right-hand housing 15. Place the mixing cover horizontally over the jug using the Beaba spatula. Ensure that the cover is resting on the 6 lugs inside the jug so that it does not slip down when mixing. 16. Lock the jug’s lid 17. Plug in the device and turn the button to the right using pulses lasting a maximum of 5 seconds until you have obtained the desired consistency. 18-19. Open the lid and remove the mixing cover and remove the mixing lid using the Beaba spatula.
N.B: Although it is always best to use fresh fruit and vegetables which have a high quantity of vitamins, it is also possible to cook frozen fruit and vegetables which have been defrosted in one of the BABYCOOK Duo’s jugs or in the fridge (never defrost food at room temperature).
DESCALING • When the steam button turns red, it is necessary to descale the heating reservoir. • The heating reservoir must be descaled only with white vinegar. Ensuring the device is cold and not connected to the mains, pour a mixture of 110ml of water and 110ml of white vinegar into the heating reservoir. Leave for the night and then empty. Repeat the operation if necessary until all the lime has been removed. Connect the device to the mains and then complete two heating cycles using water only in the heating reservoir (3 measures – 200 ml) in order to rinse it well. Before the 2nd heating cycle, press on the steam button for a few seconds to reset the cycle counter. The steam button will turn white. Then clean the bowl and accessories with warm, soapy water. •N ever use a chemical descaler or a coffee machine descaler in the heating reservoir. •D escale 1 reservoir at a time
N.B.: It is possible to cook in both jugs at the same time. Remember to fill the right-hand heating reservoir if you are using the right-hand jug and the left-hand heating reservoir if you are using the left-hand jug.
• Always unplug the device before cleaning. •R inse any of the accessories in contact with food immediately with soapy water to avoid germs. • After cleaning the blade, ensure that the joint has been inserted correctly. • Babycook accessories are not suitable for sterilising. •T he jugs and their lids, baskets, mixing covers and blades are dishwasherproof. Prolonged dishwasher cleaning speeds increase ageing of the parts.
✔N B: Mixing is only possible in the right-hand position with either one of the jugs.
REHEATING and DEFROSTING • The food to be reheated or defrosted should be placed in a suitable container, and then placed in the cooking basket without a lid. • Measure 1 to 3 doses of water according to the amount of food to be reheated and then follow the cooking cycle instructions. • When the sound signals marks the end of the cycle, remove the container with a cloth (caution: the residual water is very hot at the end of the cooking cycle) and mix the contents with the Beaba spatula to obtain an even temperature.
