The EGO STA1600 trimmer uses the POWERLOAD™ system which allows for automatic loading of the cutting line by pressing a button. The line must be twisted nylon with a maximum diameter of 2.4 mm. Initial load or complete line replacement: Remove the battery from the motor unit for safety reasons Cut 4 meters of twisted nylon cutting line (maximum diameter 2.4 mm) Insert the line into the eyelet of the cutting head until you have equal lengths on each side Reinstall the EGO battery in the motor unit Press and hold the line loading button continuously until the line automatically winds onto the spool and you have about 15 cm of line on each side of the head Gently pull on the ends of the line to check that the assembly is correct and that the line is securely attached If the line breaks at the eyelet or does not come out: Remove the battery immediately Press the release tabs located on the sides and pull the lower cover of the cutting head to remove it Remove the remaining line and the spring from the spool (keep the spring, it will be reused) Insert the spring into its slot on the lower cover Reattach the lower cover until you hear an audible click Then follow the initial loading procedure described above Important notes: Never use rope, metal wire, or wire with metal reinforcement as a substitute for twisted nylon cutting line. These materials can create dangerous projectiles and cause injuries. If the POWERLOAD™ system cuts off after prolonged use, wait for the head to cool down before restarting the loading (overheat protection active).
