Before use
● Replacing the soldering tip
CAUTION! Risk of burns!
▶ Never heat the soldering iron 7 without fitting a soldering tip 9/11.
NOTE
Only remove the soldering tip 9/11, after:
-the product has been switched off -the soldering tip has cooled down
- Before using the product for the first time and also when using a new soldering tip 9/11: Tin the soldering tip (see "Soldering").
- Before use: Remove the protective cap from the soldering tip 9/11.
- Loosen and remove the retaining nut 8.
- Pull the fixing sleeve 10 off the soldering iron 7.
- Replace the soldering tip 9/11.
- Reassembling the soldering iron 7: Proceed in reverse order.
Use
- Switching the product on/off
Switching on
NOTE
When restarting the product: The last temperature setting shows on the set temperature 19 indicator.
- Connect the mains plug 4 with a suitable mains socket.
- Press 1.
The LCD display 16 first shows the set temperature (200 °C).
Afterwards the LCD display shows the actual temperature 17. The POWER indicator 20 indicates when the product is in heating mode.
Switching off
NOTE
If the product has not been used for the last 30 minutes: The product switches off.
- Press ⏻ 1. 18 flashes on the LCD display 16. The product is cooling down to approx. 60 °C. The product switches off.

Place the product in the soldering iron holder 5.
-
Remove the mains plug 4 from the mains socket.
- Setting the solding temperature
NOTE
The prerequisite for perfect soldering is the use of suitable solder.
▶ Perfect soldering can only be achieved when the correct soldering temperature is achieved.
If the soldering temperature is: -Too low: The solder does not flow sufficiently and causes dirty soldering joints (so-called cold soldering joints). -Too high: The solder burns and the solder does not flow. In addition, the materials to be processed can be destroyed.
☐ The following temperature settings are for the most common applications.
| Temperature | Application |
| approx. 200 °C | Melting point of the most commonly used soft solder. |
| approx. 300 °C | Normal operation, e.g. when using lead-free solder. |
| approx. 400 °C | High soldering temperature, e.g. for removing solder from small soldered joints. |
| approx. 450 °C to 480 °C | Maximum soldering temperature, e.g. for removing solder from larger soldered joints. |
| Differences are possible depending on the solder/manufacturer. | |
Changing the soldering temperature continually in 5 °C increments
- Press and hold + 12 or - 13.
- Release + 12 or - 13 when you have reached the required temperature.
The actual temperature 17 is displayed in the LCD display 16 after 3 seconds.
Changing the soldering temperature in 5 °C increments
☐ Press + 12 or - 13. The set temperature 19 is displayed on the LCD display 16.
● Using the temperature selectors
NOTE
In addition to the temperature setting with +12 or -13, the product has 2 temperature selectors:
$$ - 3 0 0 ^ {\circ} \mathrm{C} $$
$$ - 4 0 0 ^ {\circ} \mathrm{C} $$
□ Press 400 14 or 300 15.
The selected temperature is shown in the set temperature 19 indicator.
- Solder sponge
⚠ NOTICE! Risk of product damage!
The hot soldering tip 9/11 must never come into contact with a dry solder sponge 6. Risk of damaging the solder sponge.
NOTE
▶ Use the soldering sponge 6 to clean the soldering tip 9/11.
Before using the solder sponge 6:
-
Moisten the solder sponge 6 slightly.
-
Remove any excess liquid from the vicinity of the product.
Soldering
⚠️ CAUTION! Risk of poisoning!

Inhaling soldering vapours may lead to headaches and fatigue symptoms.
NOTE
Flux is a chemical compound that helps prepare the metal surfaces for soldering by removing oxides, promoting wetting, and enhancing the flow of solder.
The fl ux is either contained in the solder or it is applied separately.
When purchasing fl ux: Find out about the type of application and the appropriate solder.
- Clean the soldering tip 9/11 on a moist solder sponge 6.
- After cleaning: The soldering tip 9/11 must be tinned. Tin the hot soldering tip 9/11 by melting solder 3 on it.
- Move the soldering tip 9/11 to the soldering point and heat it.
- Place the solder 3 (with fl ux) in between the soldering point and the soldering tip 9/11.
- Apply additional solder 3 until the entire joint is covered in solder.
- Immediately remove the soldering tip 9/11 to avoid overheating the molten solder.
- Let the solder solidify and avoid vibrations.
