- Observe the information in these operating instructions regarding operation, cleaning, storage and disposal.

• Check the product before each use. Have a damaged product repaired. Do not use a damaged product.

▶ Only place the product on a non-flammable surface.
Place the product in such a way that the soldering tip does not come into contact with flammable materials.
Do not leave the product unattended when hot.
Allow the product to cool down before putting it away.

Only use the specified detachable charger (HG06825 or HG06825-BS) to charge the battery.

⚠️ CAUTION! Risk of injury!

The soldering tip reaches temperatures of over 400 °C. Touching the metal parts can lead to severe burns.
▶ Allow the product to cool down before carrying out inspection, maintenance or cleaning work!

NOTICE!

The product must be plugged into the station when it is not in use.

- Only switch on the product shortly before it comes into contact with the working material. - Harmful vapours are produced during soldering and when working with plastics. Ensure good ventilation or a suitable fume cupboard.

- Avoid eating, drinking and smoking in rooms where soldering work is taking place. Otherwise, lead residues on your hands might contaminate the food, drink or cigarettes and be absorbed into your body.

■ Always wash your hands thoroughly after soldering.

■ Wear protective goggles and suitable work clothing to protect yourself from solder splashes and corrosive vapours.

■ The product must never be used to heat liquids or plastics.

This product contains batteries that can only be replaced by trained personnel.

- Do not dispose of solder waste in normal household waste! Solder waste should be disposed of with hazardous waste.

⚠️ DANGER TO LIFE! Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of reach of children. If

accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical attention.

RISK OF EXPLOSION!

Never recharge non- rechargeable batteries. Do not short-circuit batteries/rechargeable batteries and/or open them. Overheating, fire or bursting can be the result.

■ Never throw batteries/rechargeable batteries into fire or water.
- Do not exert mechanical loads to batteries/rechargeable batteries.

CAUTION! RISK OF EXPLOSION!

Never charge non-rechargeable batteries!

Protect the rechargeable battery from heat,

for example from continuous exposure to sunlight, fire, water

and moisture. There is a risk of explosion.

Risk of leakage of batteries/rechargeable batteries

• Avoid extreme environmental conditions and temperatures, which could affect batteries/rechargeable batteries, e.g. radiators/direct sunlight.
  If batteries/rechargeable batteries have leaked, avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes with the chemicals! Flush immediately the affected areas with fresh water and seek medical attention!

WEAR PROTECTIVE

GLOVES! Leaked or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries can cause burns on contact with the skin. Wear suitable protective gloves at all times if such an event occurs.

This product has a built-in rechargeable battery which cannot be replaced by the user. The removal or replacement of the rechargeable battery may only be carried out by the manufacturer or his customer service or by a similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazards. When disposing of the product, it should be noted that this product contains a rechargeable battery.

Before cleaning: In order to minimise the risk of electric shock, remove charging cable from the product.

■ Before charging: Allow the battery to cool down completely.

Do not open the battery and avoid mechanical damage to the battery. There is a risk of a short circuit and vapours may leak out, causing irritation to the respiratory tract. Seek fresh air and medical assistance.

instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

Children shall not play with the product.

Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

• Keep the charger clean and away from moisture and rain. Never use the charger outdoors. Dirt and water ingress increase the risk of electric shock.
  The charger may only be used to charge the designated products.

Charging other products can lead to injuries and fire risks.

The charger must not be operated on a flammable surface (e.g. paper, textiles).

There is a risk of fire due to the heat generated during charging.

- First set-up of the product

● Unpacking the product

1. Take the product out of the packaging and remove all packaging materials and plastic wrappings.
2. Check to make sure that all listed parts are included (see "Scope of delivery").
3. Check whether the product and all parts are in good condition, if any damage or defect is detected, do not use the product, but follow the procedure described (see "Warranty").

● Charging the battery

NOTE

The battery is not replaceable. If you have problems with the battery, contact the service centre (see "Service").
Only use the HG06825 or HG06825BS charger to charge the battery safely (see "Maintenance" and "Service").
The product cannot be used while it is being charged.
Charge the battery fully before using it for the first time.
▶ Recharge the battery when the heating power decreases.

1. Connect the charging cable 8 to the charger.
2. Connect the charging plug 9 to the charging socket 11 (Fig. B).
3. Connect the charger to a power socket.

The indicator light 5 shows the status:

Colour	Status
Red The	battery is charging.
Green The	battery is charged.

After charging

1. Disconnect the charger from the power socket.
2. Remove the charging plug 9 from the charging socket 11 (Fig. B).

● Fitting/changing the soldering tip

(Fig. C)

CAUTION! Risk of injury!

▶ Allow the product to cool down before carrying out inspection, maintenance or cleaning work!

1. Remove the charging plug 9 from the charging socket 11.
2. Turn the soldering tip 1 anti-clockwise out of the soldering tip holder 2.
3. Turn the new soldering tip 1 clockwise into the soldering tip holder 2 (hand-tight).

Switching on/off

i INFO:

• When the product is switched on, the work light 3 illuminates.
  The soldering tip 1 requires approx. 30 seconds to reach operating temperature (300 °C).
  ■ The indicator light 5 shows the status:

Colour Status
Red The solderingtip 1 heats up.
Green The operating temperature (300 °C) has been reached.
Red (flashing)	The battery is low.Charge the battery.

■ The product switches off automatically after 10 minutes. Switch the product on again if required.

Switching on

☐ Press and hold the on/off button 4 for 4 seconds.

Switching off

□ Briefly press the on/off button 4.

Use

CAUTION! Toxicity risk!

Vapours can lead to headaches and fatigue if inhaled.

NOTE

The soldering tip 1 requires approx. 30 seconds to reach operating temperature.
To obtain a proper solder joint, the solder joint must be clean and free of grease.
The flux is either included in the solder or is applied separately. Find out about the type of application and the suitable solder when purchasing.
In the case of electronic components, the parts to be soldered must not be heated too much to avoid damage.
Before starting work, the soldering tip 1 must be tinned (coated with solder 10). Only good tinning guarantees perfect soldering and heat transfer.
▶ Recharge the battery when the heating power decreases.
□ Moisten the sponge 6 before starting work so that

you can dab the soldering tip 1 during and after use.

☐ Hold the product like a pen (Fig. D).
☐ Ensure that the soldering tip 1 is always clean and free of scaling and excess solder 10. Clean the soldering tip regularly with a wet sponge. Never use a file for cleaning.

☐ If possible, create a mechanical connection between the metals to be joined before soldering. For example, twist the wires together to prevent them from slipping. This will give you stable solder joints and avoid heat damage caused by soldering for too long.

☐ To solder two metals, hold the soldering tip 1 on the joint and briefly add solder 10. The solder melts and flows into the solder joint. Once the solder has spread, remove the soldering tip. Allow the solder joint to cool down without vibration.

☐ Never heat solder 10 directly and do not use too much solder.

☐ Allow the product to cool down in the station 7.

● Cleaning/maintenance

- Do not use abrasive, aggressive cleaning agents or hard brushes for cleaning. - Never scrape or file off solder residue from the soldering tip 1 with hard objects, as this will damage the soldering tip!

Keep the product clean to ensure secure work.

☐ Before cleaning: Switch off the product and allow it to cool down.

☐ Wipe the warm soldering tip 1 on the moistened sponge 6 during and after use.

□ Clean the product with a soft, dry cloth.

Maintenance

NOTE

The integrated Li-ion battery may only be removed by trained or qualified personnel.

☐ Check the product for obvious defects such as loose, worn or damaged parts before each use. Replace these parts if necessary.

- Transportation

This product contains a Li-Ion rechargeable battery and is therefore subject to hazardous materials regulation. Users may transport the product with built-in rechargeable battery on roads or by sea without special requirements.

The packaging and marking is subject to special requirements when it is transported by third parties (e.g. airline, courier, carrier). A hazardous materials expert must be consulted when transported by third parties.

● Troubleshooting

Possible problems

The soldering tip 1 does not heat up.

The battery is empty. Charge the battery.

The battery is not charging.

The charging cable 8 or the charger is defective.

The temperature of the soldering tip 1 is too low.

Warranty

The product has been manufactured to strict quality guidelines and meticulously examined before delivery. In the event of material or manufacturing defects you have legal rights against the retailer of this product. Your legal rights are not limited in any way by our warranty detailed below.

The warranty for this product is 3 years from the date of purchase. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Keep the original sales receipt in a safe location as this document is required as proof of purchase.

Any damage or defects already present at the time of purchase must be reported without delay after unpacking the product.

Should the product show any fault in materials or manufacture within 3 years from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace it – at our choice – free of charge

to you. The warranty period is not extended as a result of a claim being granted. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts.
