GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS

Vonroc SG501DC - GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS - 1

WARNING! Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

1) Battery tool use and care

a) Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.

b) Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.

c) When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.

d) Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.

e) Do not use a battery pack or tool that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behaviour resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.

f) Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 130 °C may cause explosion. NOTE The temperature „130 °C“ can be replaced by the temperature „265 °F“.

g) Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack or tool outside the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside the specified range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.

2) Service

a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

b) Never service damaged battery packs. Service of battery packs should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorized service providers.

c) Integrated batteries may only be removed for disposal by qualified personnel.

Vonroc SG501DC - ASSEMBLY - 1

The soldering tip has to be mounted before initial use. See installing/replacing soldering tip.

Vonroc SG501DC - ASSEMBLY - 2

Make sure that the soldering iron is turned off and cold.

Soldering iron base (Fig. A)

  • Place the soldering iron base (5) on the table/flat surface.
  • Put the soldering iron (3) into the base (5).
  • Ensure that it is firmly placed.
  • Fit the sponge (6) on the soldering iron base (5) and lightly moisten the sponge with some tap water.

Tip! Make sure to absorb the sponge (6) in water before using the soldering iron (3) and keep the sponge damp at all times during use.

Installing /replacing soldering tip (Fig. B)

Vonroc SG501DC - Installing /replacing soldering tip (Fig. B) - 1

Make sure that the soldering iron is turned off and cold.

  • To install the soldering tip, hold the soldering iron and screw the soldering tip (1) tightly into the soldering tip holder (2)
  • To replace the soldering tip (1), unscrew the soldering tip (1) that is already inserted and take it off, then screw the new soldering tip (1) into the soldering tip holder (2).

GreenBattery charging finished, battery fully charged

Fully charging the battery may take up to 2 - 3 hours.

If the LED indicator light (9) is red and flashing, when this happens there is problem with the battery. Stop charging immediately and consult a qualified electrician or a service workshop.

Switching on and off

Vonroc SG501DC - Switching on and off - 1

Caution, danger of burns! Do not touch the hot soldering tip.

When starting work:

  1. Take out the soldering iron (3) from the soldering iron base (5).
  2. Hold the soldering iron in your hand like a pen, as shown on figure D.
  3. Press the on/off switch (4) to turn on the machine, the LED indicator light (9) turns red. The LED working lights (10) will turn on to bright up the working area.
  4. The indicator light (9) changes from red to green after approx. 25 seconds; now the soldering tip has reached a working temperature of approx. 450°C.
  5. The soldering tip will keep the temperature for 10min, after this the soldering iron stops automatically and the LED indicator light (9) and the LED working lights (10) will turn off.
  6. To continue using the soldering iron, repeat step 2 to 4.

Switching off:

  • Press the on/off switch (4) to turn off the machine. Make sure that the hot soldering tip (1) does not touch anything until it has cooled down.
  • Cleaning the solder tip on the wet sponge (6)
  • Put the soldering iron back on the soldering iron base (5).

Working Instructions

  • In order to obtain a perfect soldering point, the soldering point must be completely clean and free of grease.
  • Before initial use, the soldering tip has to be tin-coated, i.e. coated with soldering tin. Only good tin coating ensures perfect soldering and

heat transfer.

  • Make sure that the soldering tip is always clean and free of scaling and excess soldering tin. Clean the soldering tip regularly with a wet sponge. Never use a file for this purpose.
  • Before soldering, establish a mechanical connection between the metals which are to be connected together if possible. For example, twist the wires together so that they do not slip. In this way you will obtain stable soldering points and avoid heat damage through excessive soldering.
  • For the soldering of two metals, hold the soldering tip on the connection point and briefly add some solder. The solder melts and flows into the soldering point. If the tin has spread, remove the soldering iron and allow the soldering point to cool down without vibrations. Never heat solder directly and do not use too much solder.
  • In the case of electronic components, the parts to be soldered must not be heated too much in order to avoid damage.
  • Place the soldering tip on a heat-resistant surface or insert it into the base during working.
  • Cleaning the solder tip on the wet sponge after work and put the soldering iron back into the base.
