USE

Enders Vamo - USE - 1

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

All parts of the product can become extremely hot during use, particularly the handle on the cover, which can reach temperatures of over 100 °C. Always use potholders or heat-resistant gloves to avoid burns if you touch any part of the product.
■ Make certain that there are no children near the hot oven and never leave the oven unsupervised when it is in use.
■ When lifting the cover, hot steam may escape from the opening. Please turn your head away and lift the cover carefully to protect against burns to the face.
■ Only place the hot oven on heat-resistant surfaces.

BEFORE FIRST USE

■ Rinse all parts with clean water.

FUNCTIONALITY

The oven provides the option of heating up and baking almost all foods that can be prepared in a traditional oven.

The oven consists of several components: The base consists of robust stainless steel, the upper rim of the base has an aluminium baking tin that comes with a quality non-stick ceramic coating. The aluminium lid features a special coating and ventilation holes, and is placed on top of this.

Position the disc such that the middle hole is placed either directly over the flame or in the centre of the hotplate. This centrally located hole means the heat is guided upwards and acts as the top heat.

In order to ensure even, efficient preparation of your dishes, it is extremely important to use all of the oven's components together so that both top and bottom heat are generated.

PREPARATION

It is necessary to mount the handle with the thermometer to make sure the oven is ready for initial use. Follow these steps:

  1. Insert the thermometer into the handle.
  2. Push the white ceramic disk over the sensor on the thermometer and then push everything through the middle hole on the cover.
  3. Affix the thermometer from the inside of the cover by simply tightening the nut provided.

INSTRUCTIONS

There is no need to grease the baking tin due to the ceramic coating on it.

■ Position the disc in the middle directly over the flame or on the hotplate.
■ Depending on the recipe, leave a few centimetres free in the baking tin so that the dough can rise and that the dish does not overflow. An overfilled baking tin may result in the lower part of the food being burned before the upper part is ready.

At the end of the preparation time, remove the oven from the base and remove the cover. Otherwise the food within could continue to cook due to the residual heat.

■ CAUTION: Do not use any knives or other sharp objects in the baking tin. Only use cooking utensils made out of silicone or wood to prevent any damage to the surface.

As the heat requirement can vary depending on the temperature source, trial and error is necessary to determine the correct cooking times and the ideal temperature.

Start off with a simple recipe such as ready-made pound cake mixture. The thermometer in the handle provides a reference point, but note that the temperature is measured in the cover and it may be hotter further down in the pan.

If using an ENDERS Camping Cooker, start with the setting that is just above the lowest flame in order to find the ideal temperature.

A baking rack is also included in the set, which can be used where you would also use a rack in a traditional oven, such as for crisping up bread rolls.

■ Alternatively, you can pour a little water beneath the rack to steam foods such as vegetables or fish.

The ventilation holes can be used via a wooden skewer to monitor the cooking of baked goods without removing the cover. Carefully guide the wooden skewer into the ventilation opening, poke the baked goods, then pull it back out. If there are no remnants of dough on the skewer, cooking is complete.

CLEANING AND DISCOLOURATION

■ Before initial use and after each use, please clean all parts of the oven thoroughly with clean water and a mild detergent. However, note that the oven may not be dishwasher-safe.
The oven will become discoloured over time due to high temperatures during baking. In particular, the stainless steel disc will be discoloured quickly. Please note that such discolouration is a typical matter with stainless steel and it does not mean that there is an issue with the material. It has no effect on the performance or function of the oven.

DISPOSAL

The product packaging is made of recyclable materials. Please dispose of packaging according to material type in the designated collection containers.

If you wish to dispose of the product, do not throw it in the household waste. Ask your local waste disposal company or local council for advice on environmentally friendly and resource-saving disposal options.
