USER MANUAL HR 1700-F EINHELL

1. It is imperative to read the safety regulations

which form part of these operating instructions. The safety regulations contain vital information concerning the safe installation, use and maintenance of your machine. Look after these instructions so that you can consult them whenever necessary.

2. Before you connect the machine to the power

supply, check that the data on the rating plate matches the data of your supply system. The socket-outlet has to be equipped with a differentiated thermal protector which activates already at values under 0.03 A.

3. If the power plug fails to fit in the socket-outlet,

have it replaced by an electrician. Check that the cross section of the cable used is adequate for the machine’s power consumption. As a rule it is not advisable to use multiple socket-outlets and/or extension cables. If their use is indispensable you are to use only single or multiple adapters and extension cables which comply with the safety regulations in respect of quality and current carrying capacity.

4. This machine is to be used only for its intended

purpose. Any other use is a case of misuse and therefore dangerous. The manufacturer shall not be liable for damage resulting from any use of the machine that is incorrect, unreasonable or contrary to its intended purpose.

5. The use of every electrical machine is subject to

a number of basic rules, particularly the following: Never touch the machine with damp or wet hands. Never pull on the power cable or the machine itself to remove the power plug from the socket-outlet. If there is a power failure while the machine is being used, the machine has to be switched off (set the switch to -0- position) for safety reasons. Keep the machine out of the reach of children.

6. The electric pump has to be kept filled with

sufficient water (at least 11 - 12 l/min.). Dry running will cause serious damage to the seals. Take care not to damage the cable. Repairs to the power cable are to be avoided.

7. Do not dismantle any parts while the machine is

8. Do not expose the electric pump to low

temperatures. Protect from freezing.

9. Never direct the water jet at persons or animals.

This could cause serious injury.

10. The pump should not be allowed to run for longer

than 1 - 2 minutes when the pistol is closed.

11. To comply with the safety regulations you should

wear protective clothing when using the machine. It is imperative to wear goggles and non-slip shoes.

12. Do not use the high-pressure cleaner in the rain

and do not direct the water jet at the machine itself.

13. Do not allow harmful, toxic or polluting products

to enter the environment.

14. If repairs should be necessary, always contact

your authorized dealer and insist on original replacement parts. Area of application for the machine

1. The machine’s simple concept and high

performance are designed for leisure-related applications.

2. Under no circumstances is the machine to be

used in potentially explosive areas.

3. A working temperature of between +5° and

+50°C is compulsory.

4. The machine consists of a module with a pump,

which is covered by an impact-proof case. The case is designed for simple handling and transportation. It has a handle but no corners or projecting parts.

5. For an optimum working position the machine is

equipped with a lance and an ergonomic pistol that complies in shape and features with the pertinent regulations.

6. Neither the lance nor the spray nozzles are to be

covered or modified in any way.

7. The high-pressure cleaner is designed to be

used with cold or medium-hot water (up to +60°C). Higher temperatures will cause damage to the pump.

8. The supply water is to contain no dirt, sand or

chemical products which could impair the machine’s operation and shorten its life span.

9. The machine finds application in the cleaning of

roller blinds, tiles, vehicles, mobile homes and other areas where pressure is needed to remove dirt.

10. Accessories are available to enable jobs to be

performed with foam cleaners.

11. Before starting to work you can fit either the

standard lance or the special lance for foam cleaning.

2. Power cable with plug

4. Water inlet + filter

6. High-pressure hose

8. Foam spray attachment

1. The main switch has to be in position ‘-O-’.

2. The water supply hose (item 2) has to be

connected to the INLET (item 4). Use a hose of at least 13 mm (1/2”) inner diameter designed for a minimum capacity of 15 bar.

3. Plug the lance on the pistol.

4. Connect the high-pressure hose (item 5) to the

OUTLET (item 6). The water temperature is not to exceed 60°C in continuous operation.

5. Turn on the water tap (item 3).

6. Press the pistol trigger (item 7) until water

emerges from the lance nozzle and flushes out any residues from the pipe work.

8. Switch on the machine by moving the switch to

position ‘-I-’. Before switching on, press the pistol trigger. Starting is then easier and the machine is placed under less strain. Water connection diagram

It is advisable to adopt the correct working position whenever you actuate the machine: One hand holding the pistol and the second hand holding the lance. Never direct the water jet at electric cables or at the machine itself. Fitting the lance The lance has a shaped element (item 1) for latching on the spray pistol (item 2). First turn the lance in the direction of the arrow ‘A’ and then turn it clockwise approx. 15° until the two components are fully connected (cf. the figure below). Dirt which may collect in the nozzle can be removed with the nozzle cleaning needle (item 4). Caution! Be sure to turn off the machine and disconnect the water supply first. Starting After connecting the high-pressure cleaner to the power supply and the water supply, proceed as follows:

1. Open the water tap.

2. Press the pistol trigger to allow any air to escape.

3. Set the on/off switch to ‘-1-’.

Pistol safety device It is imperative to actuate the safety catch (S) on the pistol whenever you stop the machine. This will prevent the machine starting accidentally.

Maintenance Lubrication The electric pump is equipped with a closed-circuit lubrication system. Oil grade: 15W40 Inspecting the water intake filter Check the intake filter periodically in order to prevent clogging which could jeopardize the pump’s operation (see the figure). Electric motor The electric motor is equipped with a motor circuit- breaker. If the motor overheats, it will be brought to a standstill by this circuit-breaker. You must then wait 5 -10 minutes before re-starting the machine. Find the cause of the overheating. Power cable The power cable is not to be damaged in any way. A damaged cable has to be replaced by a qualified electrician. Terminal diagram Repairs and replacement parts Please contact our service centre if any faults arise or should you need any replacement parts. Disposing of the machine You must take the following steps when the machine is not to be used again: Pull out the power plug and render the machine inoperable. Store the machine in a place that is inaccessible to children. No parts of the old machine are to be used as replacement parts for another machine. Dismantle the machine and dispose of its individual parts in accordance with your country’s statutory regulations.
