How to connect my printer to Wi-Fi?

On the control panel, select Menu > Settings > Network > Wireless Setup. Follow the on-screen instructions to select your network and enter the password. Make sure your computer's Wi-Fi is turned on during setup.

What to do if the printer does not connect to the Wi-Fi network?

Check that the Wi-Fi setup mode has not timed out. Restart the wireless mode on the control panel. If the problem persists, restore network settings via Menu > Settings > Network > Restore Network Settings then try again.

How to load Legal paper in tray 2?

Press the latch behind the front of the tray and pull forward to extend the tray about 51 mm. Adjust the paper guides and load Legal paper.

How to scan a document?

Place the document in the automatic document feeder (ADF) or on the scanner glass. On the home screen, select Scan, choose the destination (email, network folder, etc.) and press the scan button.

How to replace a toner cartridge?

Open the front door (tray 1). Pull the latch to unlock the used cartridge, remove it. Take the new cartridge out of its packaging, shake it gently, insert it into the same slot and close the door.

Why is my printer not printing?

Check that the printer is on and connected to the network. Make sure there are no paper jams and that the toner cartridges are sufficiently filled. Check the control panel for error messages.

How to access the printer's built-in help?

On the home screen, select Help for information on printing, scanning, paper loading and troubleshooting. You can also visit the HP Support website at hp.com/support/colorljmfp4301-4303.

How to set up the fax function?

Connect the telephone line to the Fax port (incoming line) and optionally a phone to the Telephone port (outgoing line). In settings, select Menu > Settings > Fax to configure the identification and reception settings.

Place the document on the glass or in the ADF. On the home screen, select Copy, set the number of copies and settings (color, B&W) then press the Start button.

If the software is unable to find your printer during setup, check the following conditions to resolve the issue.

Potential Issue Solution

Printer Wi-Fi setup mode timed out Check the control panel, and restart wireless setup mode, if prompted.
Computer too far from printer Move your computer closer to the printer. Your computer might be out of range of the printer's Wi-Fi signal.
Computer connected to a Virtual Private Network (VPN) or remote work network	Disconnect from a VPN before installing HP printer software. Connect to the VPN again after finishing printer setup.Note: Consider your location and the security of the Wi-Fi network before disconnecting from a VPN.
Wi-Fi turned off on computer (computer connected by Ethernet)	If your computer is connected by Ethernet, turn on the computer's Wi-Fi while setting up the printer. You don't need to disconnect the Ethernet cable from the printer.

If you completed setup, but have issues with maintaining a Wi-Fi connection, check the wireless status and restart setup mode to try connecting again.

Printer won't reconnect or maintain a connection to network (Post-setup)

1. On the control panel, select Menu > Information > Connectivity > Wi-Fi. if the printer is listed as "Not Connected", proceed to Step 2.
2. Go back to the Home screen. Select Menu > Settings > Network > Restore Network Settings.
3. Wait for one minute. Open the printer software and try connecting again.
