Can I use the Mini 2 Plus to measure body temperature?

No, the device is not designed for testing human body temperature. It is intended for temperature control of objects and surfaces in public places, buildings, and HVAC systems.

What is the measurement accuracy?

Accuracy depends on the model. For HM-TB3317-3/M1-Mini: ±0.5 °C between 30 °C and 45 °C, ±2 °C elsewhere. For HM-TJ11-3AMF-Mini1: ±2 °C or ±2%. Use the device 60 seconds after startup in an ambient temperature range of 15 °C to 35 °C for optimal accuracy.

How to clean the thermal lens?

Gently wipe the lens with a clean cloth moistened with a small amount of ethanol. Do not use harsh solvents.

What are the recommended operating conditions?

Operating temperature: between 0 °C and 40 °C or 15 °C and 35 °C depending on the model. Humidity: 5 to 90 %. Place the device in a dry and well-ventilated location, away from strong electromagnetic radiation and dust.

Does the device work with all smartphones?

It connects via a USB Type-C interface. Make sure your smartphone is compatible and that the HIKMICRO Viewer app is installed. The app is available on iOS and Android.

How to perform calibration?

Calibration is automatic and periodic. During operation, the image briefly interrupts and a click is heard (shutter opening). This is normal and ensures optimal performance.

Can I analyze images offline?

Yes, the HIKMICRO Viewer app allows offline image analysis, generating and sharing reports.

What types of reports can I generate?

You can generate reports including thermal image analysis, temperature data, and annotations, then share them via the app.

What to do in case of a problem?

Contact your dealer or the nearest HIKMICRO service center. Do not perform unauthorized repairs. If smoke, odor, or abnormal noise occurs, disconnect the device immediately.

Is the device waterproof or rugged?

No, the device is intended for indoor use. Avoid exposure to water, excessive dust, and physical shocks. Transport it in its original packaging.

1. Brief Description

The smartphone module is equipped with an IR detector, and adopts the thermal imaging technology. It connects with your mobile phone via a Type-C interface. The device can be widely used for temperature screening in public areas, but not for human body temperature test.

With the advantages of small size, portability, and low consumption, the device can be applied to homes, buildings, HVAC, etc. You can view live view, capture snapshots, and record videos via HIKMICRO Viewer App on your phone. You can also analyze pictures offline, generate and share a report via the App. Scan the QR codes on the cover to download the App.

- The accuracy of HM-TB3317-3/M1-Mini is ± 0.5 °C (0.9 °F) for object temperature from 30 °C to 45 °C (86 °F to 113 °F); ±2°C (3.6 °F) for object temperature from 5 °C to 30°C (41 °F to 86 °F) and from 45 °C to 100 °C (113 °F to 212 °F). The device is applicable 60 seconds after start-up when the ambient temperature is from 15 °C to 35 °C (59 °F to 95 °F).

- The accuracy of HM-TJ11-3AMF-Mini1 is ± 2 °C (3.6 °F) or ± 2%. The device is applicable 60 seconds after start-up when the ambient temperature is from 15 °C to 35 °C (59 °F to 95 °F) and the object temperature is above 0 °C (32 °F).

- Your camera will periodically perform a self-calibration to optimize image quality and measurement accuracy. In this process, the image will pause briefly and you'll hear a "click" as a shutter moves in front of the detector. The self-calibration will be more frequent during start up or in very cold or hot environments. This is a normal part of operation to ensure optimum performance for your camera
