Frequently Asked Questions - TRT120E Ocean DOMETIC

How to set up the TRT120E Ocean rooftop tent?
The assembly can be done electrically via remote control or manually using the spare poles. Follow the steps illustrated in the manual: deployment from the vehicle roof, ladder attachment, and stability check.
Can I use the tent in bad weather?
No. Avoid using the tent in case of strong winds, storms, or tempests. If caught in a storm, immediately leave the tent and take shelter in your vehicle.
How to clean the tent?
Clean the tent with lukewarm water and a soft brush. Do not use chemical or abrasive products. Apply a waterproofing agent before each trip. Let it dry completely before storing.
What to do in case of water leak?
Check the seams, tapes, and wet areas. If you find a leak, apply a seam sealant. Heavy condensation can also be mistaken for a leak; increase ventilation.
The remote control does not work, what to do?
You can unfold the tent manually using the spare poles provided. Also check the remote control batteries. If the problem persists, contact an authorized specialist for the electric motor.
What is the maximum weight supported by the tent?
The manual does not specify an exact maximum weight, but the tent is designed to accommodate 2 adults with a 5 cm thick high-density foam mattress. Ensure your vehicle's roof rack supports the total weight (53 kg + occupants).
Can I cook inside the tent?
No. It is forbidden to use combustion appliances (barbecue, gas heater) inside due to the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning and fire.
How to store the tent for a long period?
Remove the tent from the vehicle, clean it and make sure it is completely dry. Store it in a dry and well-ventilated place. Do not store it on the vehicle roof if not in use.
Is the tent suitable for all vehicles?
It requires approved roof bars (e.g., GS label) and sufficient load capacity of the vehicle and roof rack. Check your vehicle's maximum authorized load before installation.
What is the procedure in case of a storm?
Immediately leave the tent and take shelter in your vehicle. Stay inside the vehicle until the storm passes to avoid being struck by lightning. Never stay in the tent during a storm.
