6.USAGE
6.1 Positioning the Shiatsu seat cover
- Position the Shiatsu seat cover upright on a suitable seat with a seating surface and back rest (chair, sofa or similar). Make sure that the entire surface of the seating surface 6 and the back area 5 are in contact with the seat.
- Ensure that the mains cable does not pose a trip hazard. Insert the mains plug into a suitable socket.
6.2 Adjusting the neck section
Start by adjusting the neck section 1 of the Shiatsu seat cover as required. Both the height and the angle can be adjusted. Always make sure that the 4D massage heads 2 are positioned so that they massage your neck comfortably and are not directed at your head.
- Adjusting the height: (The corresponding drawing A is shown on page 5.) Reach with one hand under the centre of the neck section 1. With the other hand, press the PRESS button 3 at the top of the rear of the back section. This releases the locking mechanism and you can then move the neck section 1 to the desired height. Then release the PRESS button 3 and allow the neck section 1 to engage. The neck section 1 is now fixed in place and you can remove your hands from the device.
- Adjusting the tilt: (The corresponding drawing is shown on page 5.) To adjust the tilt, hold one hand on the neck section 1 and the other on the back section 4 to stabilise the seat cover. At the start of the adjustment, move the neck section 1 backwards until you hear it engage. The neck section 1 is now in line with the back section 5. Now you can tilt the neck section 1 forwards until it has reached the optimum position for you. The neck section 1 is now fixed backwards. To release it, move the neck section 1 down once to a 90 degree position. The neck section 1 can now be moved freely. To readjust, lift the neck section 1 up until it engages.
6.3 Starting use
CAUTION
Do not force or jam any part of your body, in particular your fingers, between the rotating massage heads 2, 4 or their holders in the device.

At first, just press your back carefully against the Shiatsu seat cover. Then check carefully whether the massage position is pleasant for you and then shift your weight gradually towards the Shiatsu seat cover.
The massage should feel pleasant and relaxing at all times. If the massage is painful or uncomfortable, stop the massage or change your position or the contact pressure.
- Selecting the seat position: Sit comfortably and upright on the Shiatsu seat cover. Take care to ensure you are positioned in the middle of the massager and that the massage heads can move to the left and right of your spine.
- Switching on the device: Switch on the Shiatsu seat cover with the ON/OFF button 18. The massage heads 4 in the back section 5 switch on automatically.
- Selecting the massage area for the back: Use the UPPER BACK button (upper back) or the LOWER BACK button (lower back) to select the area you want to have massaged. The LED lights on the hand switch indicate the set massage area. The rotating massage heads travel slowly upwards from the starting position in the lowest area of the back and then move up and down in the set massage area (upper or lower back).
-
"SPOT" massage: Press the SPOT button 14 to start usage in a specific spot in the back area. Use the arrow buttons 15 to freely adjust the massage area up and down.
-
"NECK" massage: Press the NECK button 11 to activate the massage in the neck area. Pressing the NECK button 11 again will change the direction of rotation. Press the NECK button 11 again in order to switch off the massage in the neck area. The LED light for "NECK" on the hand switch will go out.
- Maximum application time/automatic switch-off: As soon as the Shiatsu seat cover is switched on, the automatic switch-off function will be activated automatically and preset to 15 minutes.
CAUTION
Use the massager for max. 15 minutes and then leave it to cool down. Long massages can lead to over-stimulation of the muscles, creating tension instead of aiding relaxation. You can end the massage at any time by pressing the ON/OFF button [18]. Note that the massage heads [4] will return to their start position in the lumbar area when the device is switched off. This is indicated by a flashing LED light. Once this position is reached, the Shiatsu seat cover switches off.
- At the end of use: Do not disconnect the Shiatsu seat cover from the power supply while it is in operation. Always switch it off first and then wait until it has reached its start position.
6.4 Other applications
Seat cover
The seating surface of the massage seat cover is attached to the back area via a zip fastening. You can open this to use the seat cover separately. You can also use it as a back rest.
Combination with heat pad
The massage seat cover can also be used with all beurer heat pads measuring 40 × 30 cm / 44 × 33 cm . To do this, place the heat pad in the cover via the zip fastening on the underside of the seat cover. The heat pad should lie on the inner padding in the direction of the seating surface. The cable for the heat pad can be guided out through the buttonhole on the side of the seat cover. It can be used during the massage as well as also separately for the back or the feet.
To purchase beurer heat pads, visit the webshop www.beurer-shop.de
