Frequently Asked Questions - Pro Express Ultimate Care GV9565 TEFAL

What water to use in my Tefal Pro Express Ultimate Care steam generator?
Use tap water. If the water is very hard (hardness >30°f), mix 50% tap water and 50% demineralised water. Never use pure demineralised water, rainwater, or water with additives (starch, perfume). These products can stain laundry and damage the appliance.
Why does water leak from the soleplate holes?
This may be due to condensation in the pipes if you are using steam for the first time or after inactivity. Press the steam button away from the ironing board until the iron emits steam. Also make sure the soleplate is hot enough (setting in steam zone).
How do I descale my steam generator?
Never use chemical descaling products (vinegar, industrial descalers). To rinse the boiler, follow the procedure in the user manual. Wait until the appliance is cold and unplugged for more than 2 hours before draining. The limescale collector must be in place.
What to do if the red WATER light flashes?
Press the OK restart button on the control panel until the light goes off. If the light persists, check that the tank is filled.
Why are white streaks appearing on laundry?
This indicates limescale discharge. Rinse the boiler as indicated in the user manual. Regular descaling prevents this problem.
Can I iron vertically?
Yes, but with caution. Never iron a garment on a person, always on a hanger. Never direct steam towards people or animals.
How to clean the iron soleplate?
Clean the soleplate as indicated in the user manual. Use a lower temperature to avoid brown marks. Do not place the iron flat on the metal iron rest to avoid scratches.
What to do if the generator does not turn on?
Check that the auto-off system has not activated (after 30 min of inactivity). Press the ON-OFF restart button. If that does not work, unplug and wait 3 hours if the appliance has been stored in a cold room.
Is it safe to leave the appliance plugged in unattended?
No, never leave the appliance unattended while plugged in. Unplug it after each use and let it cool for about 1 hour before storing. The surfaces (soleplate, steam cord) are very hot.
Where can I find spare parts?
Spare parts, accessories and consumables must be purchased exclusively from an Authorized Service Center. Only use original parts to guarantee safety and compliance.
