Frequently Asked Questions - SuperLineLaser RX30 Laserliner

How to replace the batteries of the Laserliner SuperLineLaser RX30?
Open the battery compartment on the back of the device (mark 2). Insert 4 AA alkaline batteries (1.5 V) observing the indicated polarity. Close the compartment.
How to turn on the device and activate the laser lines?
Unlock the transport lock by sliding the switch (3) to the 'ON' position. The horizontal line lights up. Use the selection button (8) to activate or deactivate each vertical line.
What does the blinking of the laser lines mean?
The lines blink when the device is outside the self-leveling range of ±3° or when it is in tilt mode. In the first case, reposition the device. In the second, the blinking is normal and indicates that the level is not automatic.
How to use the tilt mode?
Place the slide switch (3) to the middle position (tilt mode). The transport lock remains engaged. Select the desired lines with button (8). The device does not self-level, the lines blink to remind you.
How to check the laser accuracy?
For horizontal check, place the device at the center between two walls at least 5 m apart. Mark points A1, A2, A3 as described in the manual. The difference between A2 and A3 must not exceed 0.35 mm/m. For vertical, use a 2.5 m plumb line and check that the deviation is less than ±1.75 mm.
How to use the laser with an RX receiver?
Activate manual receiver mode by pressing button (5). The LED (6) lights up. The lines become dimmer but are pulsed at high frequency. Use a compatible Laserliner RX receiver (not included) to detect the lines at a distance.
What is the laser class and what precautions to take?
The device is class 2 (power < 1 mW). Never look directly into the beam or reflections. Avoid directing the laser at people or animals. Cover reflective surfaces. Do not use optical instruments to observe the beam.
How to transport the device safely?
Before transport, set the slide switch (3) to the stop position (transport safety). The pendulum is then locked. Place the device in its protective case if available.
What to do if the display LED (7) is red?
The red LED indicates low battery. Replace the batteries with new ones (4 AA batteries) as soon as possible to ensure proper operation.
Where to find spare parts or technical support?
Contact your dealer or UMAREX-LASERLINER customer service. Do not open the device yourself. Visit laserliner.com/info?an=sulilas360 for safety instructions and updates.

Automatic laser with horizontal 360° laser circle, 2 vertical lines and slope function

  • The horizontal laser line creates a continuous 360^ laser line with the vertical lines aligned perpendicular to it. Ideal for almost any alignment job.
  • The 2 vertical lines are aligned at right angles to one another.
    – Individually switchable laser lines
  • Out-Of-Level: is indicated by optical signals when the unit is outside its self-levelling range.
    – Additional slope function to align angled surfaces

General safety instructions

- The device must only be used in accordance with its intended purpose and within the scope of the specifications.

Warning sign with triangular triangle and sunburst symbol

Laser radiation! Do not stare into the beam! Class 2 laser < 1 mW · 650 nm EN 60825-1:2014

  • Attention: Do not look into the direct or reflected beam.
  • Do not point the laser beam towards persons.
  • If a person's eyes are exposed to class 2 laser radiation, they should shut their eyes and immediately move away from the beam.
  • Under no circumstances should optical instruments (magnifying glass, microscope, binoculars) be used to look at the laser beam or reflections.
  • Do not use the laser at eye level (1.40 ... 1.90 m)
  • Reflective, specular or shiny surfaces must be covered whilst laser devices are in operation.
  • In public areas shield off the laser beam with barriers and partitions wherever possible and identify the laser area with warning signs.
  • Tampering with (making changes to) the laser device is not permitted.
  • This device is not a toy - keep out of the reach of children.

Special product features

AUTOMATIC LEVEL

Automatic alignment of the device with a magnetically dampened pendulum system. The device is brought into initial position and aligns itself autonomously.

lock

Transport LOCK: The device is protected with a pendulum lock during transport.

PowerBright LASER

Devices with PowerBright technology have special high performance diodes to produce super bright laser lines. These remain visible over longer distances, in bright ambient light and on dark surfaces.

RX READY

RX-READY technology enables line lasers to be used even in unfavourable light conditions. The laser lines pulsate at a high frequency and this can be picked up by special laser receivers over long distances.

2Horizontal and vertical levelling

Release the transport restraint, set slide switch (3) to „ON“. The horizontal laser line appears. The laser lines can be switched individually with the selection button.

The transport restraint must be released for horizontal and vertical levelling. The laser lines flash when the device is outside the automatic levelling range of 3^ . Position the device such that it is within the levelling range.

35lope mode

Do not release the transport restraint, set slide switch (3) to the mid-position and select the lasers with the selector switch. Sloping planes and tilts can now be measured. In this mode, the laser lines no longer align automatically. This is signalised by the laser lines flashing.

4 Band receiver mode

Optional: Working with the laser receiver RX

Use an RX laser receiver (optional) to carry out levelling at great distances or when the laser lines are no longer visible.

To work with a laser receiver, switch the line laser to hand-held receiver mode by keeping button 5 (hand-held receiver mode on / off) pressed. The laser lines will now pulsate with high frequency, making the laser lines darker. The laser receiver can detect these pulsating laser lines.

! Follow the operating instructions of the corresponding laser receiver.

Preparing the calibration check:

It is possible for you to check the calibration of the laser. To do this, position the device midway between 2 walls, which must be at least 5 metres apart. Do this by turning the unit on, thus releasing the transport restraint (cross laser on). Please use a tripod.

1. A1 2. 180° A2

  1. Mark point A1 on the wall.
  2. Turn the device through 180^ and mark point A2. You now have a horizontal reference between points A1 and A2.

Performing the calibration check:
3. A1 ≤ 0.35 mm / m = OK 4. 180° A2 A3 A2 A3

  1. Position the device as near as possible to the wall at the height of point A1.
  2. Turn the device through 180^ and mark point A3. The difference between points A2 and A3 is the tolerance.

When A2 and A3 are more than 0.35 mm / m apart, an adjustment is necessary. Contact your authorised dealer or else the UMAREX-LASERLINER Service Department.

Checking the vertical line:

Position the device about 5 m from a wall. Fix a plumb bob with a line of 2.5 m length on the wall, making sure that the bob can swing freely. Switch on the device and align the vertical laser to the plumb line. The precision is within the specified tolerance if the deviation between the laser line and the plumb line is not greater than ± 1.75 mm.

Checking the horizontal line:

Position the device about 5 m from a wall and switch on the cross laser. Mark point B on the wall. Turn the laser cross approx. 2.5 m to the right and mark point C. Check whether the horizontal line from point C is level with point B to within ± 1.75 mm. Repeat the process by turning the laser to the left.

≤1.75 mm = OK B 2,5 m C

! Regularly check the adjustment before use, after transport and after extended periods of storage.
