How to install the battery of the MetricMaster Plus?

Open the battery compartment (mark 12) and insert an LR44 button cell battery observing the polarity symbols. Close the compartment.

How to switch between mm and inch units?

Briefly press the button 2 (Unit switching) to switch between millimeters and inches, even during a measurement.

What do flashing digits on the display mean?

Flashing digits indicate a low battery. Replace the battery with a new one.

How to calibrate the caliper?

Before each use, fully close the measuring jaws and check that the display shows 0. If necessary, press the zero setting button (mark 4). Annual calibration is recommended.

How to clean the device?

Clean with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, solvents, or alcohol. Remove the battery before prolonged storage.

What to do if the display stays off?

Check the battery: replace it if it is depleted. If the problem persists, clean the battery contacts. If the display still stays off, remove the battery, wait 1 minute, and reinsert it.

How to use the depth measurement function?

Use the depth gauge (mark 7) located at the end of the device. Place the base of the instrument on the edge of the object and lower the gauge to the bottom.

How to freeze a measured value?

Tighten the locking screw (mark 10) to lock the displayed value. This allows you to keep the measurement after removing the instrument.

What is the accuracy of the instrument?

The accuracy is ± 0.03 mm (0.0005 inch) over the entire measuring range, within the specified working conditions.

Is the device waterproof or water-resistant?

No, the device is not waterproof. Avoid any contact with water and excessive humidity. Store it in a dry place.

Switch units of measure

To switch between the measuring units mm and inches, press key 2 briefly. Switching can be carried out during an active measurement.

Automatic switch-off

The device switches off automatically if left idle for about 5 minutes.

Calibration

The meter needs to be calibrated and tested on a regular basis to ensure it produces accurate measurement results. We recommend carrying out calibration once a year.

The zero setting must be checked prior to every use by sliding the measuring jaws together.

Information on maintenance and care

Clean all components with a damp cloth and do not use cleaning agents, scouring agents and solvents. Remove the battery(ies) before storing for longer periods. Store the device in a clean and dry place.
